In a nutshell: The Z610i is a compact clamshell 3G phone equipped with video calling, a 2 megapixel camera, stereo music player and a memory card slot for storing music. A hidden mirror effect and a glossy finish (in pink, blue or black) makes for a very attractive look.

The Sony Ericsson Z610i is a smart 3G clamshell camera phone with a glossy sleek finish, available in a choice of pink, blue and black. A hidden mirror effect conceals the external display, which becomes visible only when the display lights up. The display shows basic information such as the time and caller details. There is also a camera lens mounted on the front cover. Open up the clamshell and inside the phone retains its glossy good looks. The keypad is not the best though, as the separation between keys makes it slightly tricky to use at speed. It has to be said too that the glossy finish attracts fingerprints pretty quickly too.

The external camera is rated at 2 megapixels, but does not have a flash, so night photography will be difficult. The phone also has a video camera and supports video calling to other 3G phones. The VideoDJ application lets you edit video clips on the phone, which can then be transferred to a PC or sent to another phone via MMS. The main internal display is a 262k colour TFD screen which is of high quality, with a resolution at 176 x 220 pixels. The Z610i has a music player and can handle MP3 ringtones too. It has a built-in speakerphone and voice recorder. Flight mode lets you listen to music whilst the phone's reception is switched off.

With just 16 Mbytes of onboard memory, there is not enough storage to hold more than a few songs, but a Memory Stick Micro card can be added to increase memory. The phone supports Bluetooth wireless connectivity, as well as USB drag-and-drop functionality for easy transfer of files between phone and PC. Sony Ericsson's Fast Port interface is also supported.

Functionally the Z610i has almost exactly the same spec as the K610i. The Z610i has a clamshell form factor and beautiful glossy looks, but the K610i has the benefit of being one of the lightest 3G phones ever made. It does have a tendency to freeze or shut down, so be warned.

excellent phone had it for 6 months now and no problems at all easy to download tunes to it battery life fine easy to use clear sound loud ringtones im with 3 network and got a great deal with them

Wow received mine this week, pink of course! - What a great phone loads of features. The only problem is that the cover smears quite easily but sorted out with a plastic cover from ebay and now I have nothing to whinge about. I would buy again and recommend to anyone wishing to get it!

ive had my phone for 9 months and i love it!!! un like some people, i think 3 is a great network and i have not had a problem with network coverage. my only moan is that because mine is pink the keypad is also pink and i just cant read the letters or numbers easily unless im right under the light; those with dodgy eyesight - beware!!! i have tried to get a new keypad for it so that its black but no luck so far; anyone know where i can get one from? write me at wishing2712@hotmail.com im a teacher and all the kids think my phone is "well cool"; i think so too!!!

Nice looking phone but quality is terrible!!!! back came loose on wk 6 / 7 reported to 'Three' by wk 8 when they finally arranged for someone to come and fix it the back had fallen off. 'Three' customer service in India even worse!!!! very unhelpful unable to supply replacment back just suggest go around 'Three' & 'Carphone Warehouse' shops neither who stock replacement backs for the Z610! and this is a phone that is new! 'Three' network rubbish too, flits in and out at its own leisure. BEST ADVOIDED!! Phone still not fixed!

I absolutely adore my Sony Ericsson Z610I its got everything I need like Internet alarm clock blue tooth and not to mention its stylish and elegant glossy finish! I think its truly magnificent and would recommend it to ANYONE!

I just bought this phone. It arrived at my doorstep this morning. I loved it, until i tried to send it a file over blue tooth. The screen froze and i couldn't turn it off. I tried to take the battery out but i couldn't get off the battery cover. Didn't work. I've barely had this phone for five minutes and it's broke. Great.

It was the right choice for me. I dropped it from 6th floor of my office's elevator and i thought it was crushed and destroyed. But to my amazement, the phoe or its function was not damaged, not even a scratch on its cover. It's so wonderful. gotta say i love this phone! its sexy and its easy to use. only downfall is theres no flash on the camera so i cant snap my fun nights out at uni! but other than that, buy it! :)

loved the look of this phone, so got it as i'm a bit of a SE fan(had the k700i, k750i, w810i, k610i and k800i in past 2 years). First month it was superb, then just went to pot. Started to lose signal during calls, even in supposedly strong signal areas. Lost signal when on wap and would take ages to get signal back. And when charging with it turned on it would turn itself off and wouldn't turn back on until i'd take battery out and put back in. The z610i has its faults and i'm sorry to say i wouldn't advice anyone to get it. I'd also advice everyone to avoid 3, cuz it is one rubbish network!

Great phone, easy to use (my usual are Nokias but I'll definately use Sony Ericsson again) and nice functions. Downsides are that the outside screen gets marked with fingerprints very easily so everyone who picks it up to look at it ends up cleaning it on their clothing (true!!!) and it has scratched a bit but not excessively. The front display is great how it shows who's calling (this could be a problem for those needing privacy) but I'm yet to work out if I can reject calls without opening the phone and cutting them off. The calendar / reminders isn't as well designed as the Nokia systems. Prob more girly even though I have the black model. Nice phone for day to day users but prob not a business model!!

This Phone Is one of the best lookin and working phones i have ever had ((and i've had a fair few)) i have it pink and it is amazing i have had some legendry phones from the prada to the shine,the D900 and the W810i they are all fantastic butr i do like this phone purely for its simplicity and its appealing look. i reccomend this phone to any easy going pople looking for a simple phone.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this look. I have it in blue and i love how its white inside SO stylish. But yes i guess this phone does have a lot to work on considering functions and the video call i might just be stupid but i don't get how it works. Another thing is the finger prints are seen to easily so you should buy a cover. The ring tones should be louder, its really sad since it goes up to 8 on the volume scale yet it really does not deliver much *loud* sound you want. I can barely hear when someone calls me. Overall i say the phone its pretty good. I got it for like $500 not really the best deal.

Just got the mobile. Love it. But have one problem, cannot voice dial, it starts to dial then cuts straight off and comes up with the following error message - number error. Number is correct as it works when i dial manually. Anyone encountered this problem, if so is it solvable? Tried to contact Sony Ericsson & NO RESPONSE! Not very helpful!!!

i thought over all this was a rather good phone. the buttons are big and easy to see also the screen is a good size. the camera is one of the best features in my opinion. The finger prints can get slightely annoying and it is a rather large phone wich may look like you are carrying a small brick about in your pocket. the battery is also very good if you like playing music alot on your phone the battery i think goes down very slowely. but the only thing that i found a bit of a down fall for this phone is sometimes i will miss a phone call and it will say 1 missed call and then dusnt tell me who phoned me. but i do highley rocomend this phone to someone who is looking for great designe and good quality features.

uuummmm... got this phone yesterday its really stylish and easy to use. Got d black one its cool! and i bought also the pink one for my wife and the blue one for my son. Speakerphone, MP3, Music Dj is good as well as d camera 2mp... we love using 3G video calling. MUST Buy!

I have to say I feel disappointed with this phone sadly. The memory is small and can only hold about 50 pics - definitly not as good as my old phone. The phone looks stylish until it scratches or gets marks on the shiny part - after that it looks tacky. Shame as I was optimistic about this phone!

I have had this phone for a couple of months now - and I love it - very user friendly. I too am on 3 which is not so user friendly..!!!!! However the problems I have had bear no reflection on this lovely piece of kit..

I have had this phone for about 2 1/2 months and yes it does look nice but I have awful problems consistently when trying to make phone calls, it never connects, I have taken it back to phones 4u where I purchased my deal, they cant seem to put it right, however I am on 3 network which I have never used in the past so it may be the network thats rubbish and not the phone.

I love this shiny pink phone. It's great! However, the camera is not as good as the w810i, and there is only one free game. I like the photo DJ, the music DJ and the fact that you can download free themes etc from the Sonyericsson website. It is a very modern, blingy, stylish phone but my favourite phone is the pink LG Chocolate!

I only bought this phone recently, but i love it! Ive got a blue one.. but i wish i got it in pink! I love the mp3 player its really clear and loud so the sound quality is excellent! It works well... makes calls easily and the buttons are great for texting. Its a really good phone.. and not many people have it here so its individual!

I bought this fone in January, and it hasn't been a problem at all really. Yes, it does get a lot of fingerprints on it, but oh well! Camera is great. only downside is its quite big and it looks as if you have a dynamite in your pocket!I love the pink colour, very girly. I think i'll stick with the fone for a long time x

I traded my old Nokia for one of these. A very good decision. Its very easy to use but its best feature for me the large keypad. The photo quality is fine. It may look a bit of a 'girlie phone' but i can put up with that; I didnt buy it for its looks anyway!!

I liked this phone the moment I saw it's ad in a magazine last year and I bought one just last weekend - the pink one - after saving. For me, the phone's very nice from it's design to it's features. I really like it being a clamshell camera phone with a glossy sleek finish plus the other features most especially OLED, camera and MP3. On the other hand, it's very fingerprint and scratch prone (so I keep it in a pouch for protection and I really handle it with care) and the memory capacity is not enough to store memorable photos and favorite songs. I'm planning to buy a memory stick, though. All in all, this phone's worth my savings and it represents a part of me - simple and elegant.

I bought this phone today i have to say the design is very nice and stylish. Its easy to function. The sound quality is good. The bad points about it is the camera is not really at all good doesn't seem like 2.0 mega pixels as i compare my other phone w810i camera its more blurry. Transferring data is easy just drag and drop however when installing too much hardware to install. I haven't got around to looking at all the stuff yet.

Great phone except for one problem that really winds me up. For some reason, it must be me, the phone seems to go in to a power save mode whenever it feels like it. The only way I can seem to get round this problem is to keep opening the phone every 5mins, really annoying.

I got this phone 2 weeks ago but after a week noticed that the alarm signal on ringing was a little distorted. Since then it has got worse which I have put down to a bad connection on the tiny speaker on the rear of the phone. It is now so bad that the speaker doesn`t sound the alerts so I have missed a few calls and the speaker now only works when the phone itself is twisted very slightly. Not sure if it will affect all ohones or this is just a one-off, but other than that,I think it is a very stylish phone, and if this is not a generic fault I would have another easily.

Scratches very easily and if u have the black one like me it will show a lot. Stylish phone otherwise, a bit on the large side and display seems a bit poor for today's standards. Battery is good for a 3g phone and mp3 player works well. My biggest complaint is the speakerphone. I've had nokias and samsungs in the past and never had problem talking via the speakerphone but it's just impossible to do that with this as the sound comes out very distorted and not loud and clear as it should be. I hear that's a general problem with sony ericssons not just Z610. Good overall with enough frills but there's better phones out there.

I got my black Z610i this morning and this will be my 3rd Sony Ericsson phone (k700i,W550i)and now this one i believe that Sony Ericsson are the best mobile phone makers on the market today. The features are still as good the finish on the phone is fabulous,the screen is quite large and very clear the oled display is very good as well when you close the phone there is a scrolling effect text on the case near the camera lense. The camera is 2meg pixel which i will use now and again but if i want to take a picture i have another camera this phone for me is primary to text and make calls oh it also has 3G which is handy..Very stylish and to me stand's out from the crowd!..

I have just upgraded to this phone and I love it! I have never had a flip phone before but this one feels very solid and well put together. It is very easy to use and it does have a lot of functions, most of which I probably won't use as I mainly call and text. It is very stylish and it does attract fingerprints, but I intend to buy a cover for it, so problem solved. All in all, very impressed and pleased with my choice.

I bought this phone just yesterday and ive been playing with it for the whole day!! The features on this phone are awsome, and the way the screen lights up is pretty cool!! When you listen to songs, and when u close the phone, the screen lights up, and the info of the song goes by, just like an mp3 player! Even tho the cover of the phone may get scratched easily, as well as fingerprints, it dose come handy as a mirror when u want to check your face/makeup!! theres a feature inside where u can edit ur videos and ur photos.. its a realli COOL feature!! u can add little cartoons to ur vid/pic and just have fun playing around with it! everything in this phone is pretty smooth and dosent lag at all. the speakers in this phone are pretty loud and very clear! the downside to this phone~~ the navagation pad may be a little tricky, and u may end up where u dont want to be! also when taking photos, you can onli take shots with the phone clamshell open. You cannot close the phone and take shots. to me, the design of this clamshell are alright.. not particularly OUTSTANDING, but still kinda pleasing to the eye. what i like tho, is that fact that its PINK!!!^^

Hey my mum has this fone and she thinks it is pretty good and it looks ok, and it does all the jobs it needs 2 do. Though I wouldn't get it myself

This phione is great,it has a larger screen than compared to a K750 or W800 thats why the screen looks less sharp , it has a colourful menu and great keypad,good camera for a phone and great keypad display

Dont be deceived by the stylish design. It's actually quite bulky. Also, the display is awful. I had the K750 before this and that had a pretty good display. Cant believe they put a worse quality one in a newer phone. There's really no standout feature at all. It does have 3g but who uses that. At least the K750 has an amazing camera.

this phone is a fantastic phone.when i first got it i thought it would be not as good but the camera is great it looks cool and the resulution is exellent.apart from da memory the pone is good.MUST-BUY!
