The W200i brings the massively successful Walkman
range of phones within reach of the budget consumer for the first
time. Available in black or white, the W200i is a lightweight phone
with a classic design, similar to its big brother, the high-end
W810i. The W200i has a neat
keypad with good-sized keys, although it does use a joystick instead
of a navigation key, which we would have preferred. The W200i offers
a lot for your money: a camera, a music player, an FM radio, Java
games and expandable memory, and looks set to be a winner.
The music player is based on the excellent Walkman
player found in Sony Ericsson's top-of-the-range handsets, such
as the W810i. This is a fully featured music player that can handle
playlists and is very easy to use. It incorporates Sony Ericsson's
MegaBass™ feature that boosts the bass tones in your music.
The audio quality is excellent, especially with the stereo headset
supplied. The PlayNow™ feature enables you to browse and download
top-selling premium ringtones on your phone (you have to pay for
any ringtones that you download). In addition to the music player,
there's also a useful built-in FM radio.
The W200i is supplied with a stereo handsfree headset,
a 128 Mbyte memory card (enough to store around 32 songs) and software
for ripping music from CD's and transferring music from your PC
to your phone. You can expand the memory to a maximum of 2 Gybtes
by buying a larger memory card (Memory
Stick Micro™ format). It's easy to transfer music from
your PC to your phone using the USB connection, which supports drag-and-drop
data transfer. Likewise, transferring photos or videos from your
phone back to your PC is straightforward. The W200i also supports
an infrared connection, but not Bluetooth - with a phone this cheap
there have to be some compromises!
As already mentioned, the W200i has a camera, but
don't expect much from this. At just 0.3 megapixels, this is a very
basic camera, useful for taking fun snaps only. The LCD display
is also very basic, being of CSTN-type and low resolution. This
makes it quite hard to read in sunlight. However, for the price
this is typical.
The W200i is a recommended phone for anyone looking
for a music-playing phone in the under-£100 price range. If
you have a little more to spend, you might consider the Sony
Ericsson W300i which has a better screen and a Bluetooth wireless
connection in a clamshell design.

wicked fone, i got my son one for xmas n love it so much i bought
myself one as a replacement for my samsung d500, my daughter also
bought one, easy to transfer music from pc so not having bluetooth
isnt too much of a drawback, would definatly reccomend the w200i,

I would say that don't buy this phone buy the samsung e250 or an
other phone instead beacuse i got this phone and it was o.k for
a while but then it kept on shutting down by its self so i took
it to Vodafone and they sent it to sony ercisson and all they did
is changed the Keypad so i took it back and they won't give me a
refund so they sent it back to sony ericsson (again) and i won't
have a phone till thursday and I'm probably gonna go back in Vodafone
on saturday again so why not give me a refund! Rating:

For u lots who were banging on about how rubbish this fone is, let
me REMIND you of the fact that its a BUDGET FONE, probably aimed
at young users like myself who don't give two hoots about the bluetooth.
As for the phone itself, i used it as a temporary replacement and
it was great, i used the music player quite alot, accidently left
it on whilst i was asleep! did it strain the battery? NO. By the
way, did u know the bluetooth on the iphone can not be used to send
stuff? apparently, u can only use it for a bluetooth headset. complain

For the price its a decent phone, It has fm radio on it, walkman
which isnt the best for memory but you can get some songs on it.
The camera quality is poor. Texting is easy. I have never had a
problem with mine. Oh and its a shame it doesnt have bluetooth other

I picked up this Sony Ericsson w200i yesterday because my L7 gave
up on me and i needed a phone asap untill I get my Moto fixed (if
possible). This Phone is good due to it's quality/price, mp3 is
practical and radio is somewhat of a bonus. The phone's reception
is not good. The camera is not an option that is brag about (pic
quality is very low) they should have omitted the camera and gave
better signal reception. The menu is user friendly, and it comes
unlocked (big bonus). Over all this phone is a good standard phone;

This is a pretty dreadful phone. I had to downgrade while my W810i
got repaired/replaced. Texting is nice and easy, but the joystick
experience ranges from careful to frustrating to infuriating. However
I'm used to it now, and will have trouble readjusting. I'm waiting
for a W880i to arrive at my door and I can't wait. W200i good points.
-Easy to use. -Simple. -at least HAS the features of other phones.
Bad points. -Memory is terrible. -Screen resolution is ugly -Camera
is fiddly and low low quality. -Dust gets into the lens and the
joystick. -No alarm. I can't wait to put this phone in the cupboard

I bought the phone a week ago and am pretty pleased with it. Its
a good music phone. The quality of sound is nothing to complain
about. The camera can be ignored. But if you want a better camera
at this price along with the music as well, you would not have any
options. The lack of bluetooth is a let down though. The navigation
joystick could also have been a lot better. The organizer too is
quite functional. The software that comes along is also good. Over
all a total value-for-money phone. If you don't want a phone complicated
by too many features but still does a good job, this is the one

Not good at all. Got this for the music player and small size but
it's hard to use because of the keypad being difficult to press.
Music quality is ok but there is no bluetooth and the display is
very poor quality. I managed to exchange mine and got samsung e250
instead for £10 less. It has a much better build with a very bright
display and bluetooth. The music player isn't as good as W200 but

Well nobody tells u much about the rotten camera till u have tried

For £50, this phone is a bargain. Sound quality is excellent and
the phone comes fully packed with applications and a few games.
The memory card is enough for about 30 songs but thats about enough
as this is still a phone, not an mp3 player. The phone itself is
light and very user friendly (although the buttons are very plasticky
and clicky). The downside is that there isnt bluetooth and the screen

This phone is really very good. Though it lacks Bluetooth but has
the infrared. Why do we have bluetooth?The Simple reason is we can
transfer files from one phone thorugh another from within 1 room.
But infrared is also good Lookind into sound quality, Sony Ericcson
has provided an awesome clearity of voice as compared to other phone.Headsets
are user friendly and not like those of other phone of Sony Ericsson.
Camera is Ok as i am not concerned about it so much.But occassionally
it can be used for taking pictures. In all,Looking into a Walkman

I've had this phone for a week now and i cant give at anymore praise.
I use it for both work and personal calls and has not yet ran out
of battery. MP3 is brilliant, loud and clear. The only draw back
as many people have pointed out was it has not got Bluetooth but
this is not a problem for me. Costing me 75 pound with 5 pound top

a nice looking phone and great for mp3 and walkman. its small and
lightweight. the added memory card which u can upgrade is a nice
bonus. something that personally annoys me is the keypad that is
noisy to press the buttons. maybe im being to fussy but i dont wanna

Great phone for the price, The walkman feature is fantastic and
is similarly set out to apples ipod. Outtstanding sound quality
from both the built in speaker and the bass headphones. The one
thing that disapoints this phone is the lack of bluetooth. But however
for the music fan, there is not really any point in this feature.
The camera also is very baisic, pictures look ok on te screen, but
you can clearly tell the difference when they are on the computer.
All in all, a fantastic walkman phone for the price of 59.99! Rating:

An excellent phone with one of the best sound quality...........camera
not good.....and lacks blue tooth but infra red functioning is quite
good....camera is of no worth but surely that can be sacrificed
for a walkman phone...of sony......great functioning.....and pretty
economical...a must buy for all....proud to have it....really awesome...no

this is got to be one of the best phones i have ever owned. i used
to have a k500i but this so much better. the only problem is that
it has so much memory but no bluetooth? buy it, it is the best phone

I think this phone is fantastic and i love the joystick on it. The
only thing that is not that good is that it has a bad camera. If
you have too many songs sumtimes it freezes but it is a lovely phone. Rating:

Got this phone couple of days agao and so far so good - camera could
be better but does the job as got a digital camera for proper snaps.

i bought this phone some 20 days ago! ermm its a cool phone,looks
great! soft keypad,nd that joy stick,I LOVE IT:D. nd that orange
ring around the joystick really looks kool! phone lacks blue tooth,nd
camera...yuckh! the walkman media player is the same,used in W200i.
