the face of it, the Sony Ericsson T200 is similar in spec to the
Ericsson T68i, but the Sony Ericsson

great little features, it looks good and I find it easy to use.
I like the idea of the Communicam, although I dont have one to go

I've had this phone for about 2 years now, and I hate it. I've hated
it since I got it. I seem to remember I paid around the equivalent
of 150 USD for it, and for that kind of money I would have expected
something a little more robust. I just wanted a phone that could
dial, and send SMS'es. None of the fancy stuff that was being developed
at the time (MMS, etc.) This phone seemed right for me, but it has
been one complete letdown. - It switches on and off like it was
a turnsignal, for no apparent reason. - It loses the network every
time I walk into a new GSM antennas area. - Messages fails to get
sent ever so often, and will fail over and over again, for no apparent
reason. - If I place it lightly on the table, it switches off. -
If I slam it hard down into the table - for some reason it stays
on. - The power charger plug in the bottom of the phone has had
a loose connection since I got it, because I have to bend and stretch
the cord on the charger, to actually make it charge. - Ever so often,
it will forget there's a SIM card inside, and I have to take out
the battery and the SIM card, and put everything back before it
realizes it was wrong. - From just walking around with the phone
in my pocket, I managed to scrape off a lot of paint from the keys.
This phone doesn't make sense. I cannot think of a word that describes
how horrifying my experiences has been with this phone (it even
cost me a relationship), except I'm glad it's all soon over because
I'm getting a new phone. I won't miss this phone.

I've had nothing but aggrevation from this damn phone. It's ugly,
it's not very sturdy (took me two months to strip the paint off
of the damn thing simply by wearing it in my pocket), reception
is crud, sound quality is mediocre at best, and the menu system
is slow, confusing and unimportant, as you can't really do much
with it anyway. I wonder now why I took it in the first place, as
I can't wait for my contract to end, just so I can get a new phone.
Funky thing is, I'll be going for the SE S700i, because, well, yeah,
this is a crap phone, but what do you expect from a phone that was
(when introduced) around 150 dollars? The ONLY good side, and with
that I mean GOOD GOOD GOOD side, of this phone is one specific game.
It's Pulldown, and I'll keep this phone, without a SIM-card, simply
for that game. it's the best way of making sure you fall asleep
at night - that's what it does best.

I bought this phone from FIDO, as they were literally giving it
away with phone time credits, so maybe I paid $20 for it. It's been
my best phone yet! better than Motorola, Audiovox, and a precursor
Ericsson! The battery is killer, weeks can go by before I have to
charge and the standby and talk hours ARE AS ADVERTISED. This little
phone held up admirably and relayed Carlos Santana playing in Vancouver
to my boyfriend in Winnipeg, for well over an hour, so I have to
say this is one great little phone. I can't find one with specs

To start with the positives, this phone looks quite attractive with
its grey and blue cover, and it is a really nice compact size. The
blue screen is great and the menu is really easy to navigate. But
this phone is all style and no content. Text messaging is a bit
slow and accessing the inbox and its contents is snail pace. The
"Please Wait" message only serves to irritate. The reception is
useless, and often i have to hold my arm in the air to ensure a
text message will not fail! Sometimes my text messages come through
hours after they have been sent. At one time some of the buttons
stopped working on my phone also. Sound quality is poor and often
i can hear myself echoing at the other end. The phone also has a
habit of turning itself off really easily if it is in a bag or pocket.
Despite all this i have put up with this phone for almost two years
and am only changing to get a contract phone.

yet to experience a problem. It works great as a telephone and short
message machine, no fancy pancy bloating needed for me. The sound
quality on the Belgian Mobistar network is wonderful, the sms function

I can't agree with all your comments. Besides, sometimes the problem

software got corrupted on 10 Jan 2004. Next day phone was handed
over to the dealer for repair under warranty, who sent it to Delhi

Local dealer again sent it and it has not come back till date. What
is the use of such warranty? Even if the company gives me a new

Don't ever buy a Sony Ericsson!! The reception is terrible. It was
the most frustrating experience - attempting to make a call to only
have my phone beep 3 times and tell me the network is busy, or just
simply not have my call go through without reason. When people tried
to call me they would often get the message - all available circuits
are busy. I missed 1 out of 3 received calls and hung up on almost
everyone I spoke too. I was contantly apologizing to friends and
they actually expected my phone to cut off and thought nothing of
it in the end. I had the phone replaced with another T200 and the
new one was also useless. I then had the new one repaired and it
still didn't work. I am now holding my breath hoping my new Siemens
M55, that Fido made me purchase for $50.00,(even though the phone
they sold me sucks!!) will actually allow me to make a call. Please
don't purchase Sony phones. Cheers.

to switch it off and switch it on back again. And you can't make
or receive any calls once this message appear. My T200 is only 9
months old and I am suprise also it switches of by itself very well.
Writing SMS also its a real pits. So slow comparing to the Nokia's
phone. So T200 users, forget about entering any SMS competition/challenges.
So those of you out there, if you are choosing a phone, forget about
T200 and get a other phone instead. T200 is really an "invalid"

I am about to part with this phone after a years' use here in the
UK on Orange PAYG. My only phone beforehand had been the 3210 from
Nokia, and so I had to relearn how to use many of the phone's features.
A year ago, the first cameraphones were beginning to be marketed,
and what I wanted was a simple phone with the capability of WAP
over GPRS (far cheaper than paying by the minute). This is what
I got - it's a fantastic little phone in theory. The call quality
is a little less than perfect but tolerable, and the phone does
sometimes freeze when lots of SMS messages arrive together. However,
it is simple, and you can use the screen backlight as quite an effective
torch! I'm looking to move on to an SPV now - but for someone who
wants just a phone with good battery life (think grandparents here),
you could do an awful lot worse. One to give to the relatives or
eBay, but not for very much. Then again, not a hideous phone either...

they cover the vast majority of the country. As for the phone itself,
because it is digital only, don't expect to get a signal where you
don't have a provider with decent digital coverage - it simply doesn't
work and isn't supposed to. The phone is good. Volume, clarity,

Don't buy this phone. T200 it's a resonable piece of hardware, but
has many flaws on its software. It has by far the worst software
from all the phones I owned. You can't lock the keypad thus the
phone switches off when you least expect this, can't redial properly,
seems to have a problem with the dialed in numbers, they appear
on screen after you terminate the call and seem to stay there until
you press twice "No" button. I also notice some problems with their
WAP implementation, but since I'm not using this feature so often
I don't find it annoying. It has other problems, like it looses
signal even if you don't move the phone. It is such a shame that
a company like Sony Ericsson releases poor products, but markets
them as state of art products. If think we should gather and sue

I have had my T200 for about one year and finally I understand why
my phone keeps turning itself off while in my pocket. Nice touch,
Ericsson! But there are worse problems. The sound seems nice in
my end of the phone, but people who talk to me keep hearing the
echo of their own voice. I have tried different networks in different
countries and talked to people with different telephones. Using
handsfree helps, but it still is unacceptable. I hardly receive
any phonecalls anymore, people hate talking to me in that phone!
Other drawbacks are the hard buttons and the extremely SLOW typing
of SMS. I haven't experienced any of the problems described about
not receiving calls etc. But I would never recommend this phone

the worst software I ever had. You can't block the keypad on this
phone, so it closes when you would least expect. The redialer is
crapy, it is not redialing at all and if you hit any key from the
keypad it closes. Somehow, after you dialed in a number (not from
the agenda) and closed the connection, the dialed number is still
on your screen. You can hit any key to make it dissapear :). And
so on. This is a poor product. What is even worse is the fact that

This has to be the worst purchase of my life. The phone reliability
is appalling. It constantly loses signals or fails to aquire them
even in areas with a high signal strength. What is much worse thiugh
is the unbelievably poor after sales service and the total disinterest
in any one from Sony Ericsson in trying to improve it. I returned
my phone to Celestica, the repair service provider in the UK, for
rectification and after about 2 weeks it came back saying that it
met specification. It was just the same as when I sent it (at a
cost of £4.50. Trying to phone Celestica is a complete waste of
time, it takes about 30 minute in a phone queue avery time. I tried
the Sony help line, this takes about the smae amount of waiting
time. With a lot of persistance I managed to get reach a David Upton
who claimed to be a dept Team Manager at Sony Ericcson. He refused
to acknowledge there was any problem with the phone design and failed
to give any indication of the slightest interest that I had problems
and was a very pissed off customer. His suggestion was that I return
it agian to Cellestica. I dis this and 3 weeks later after many
long waits on the phone again they agreed to replace it. It duly
arrived in the mail, with no battery. More long delays on the phone
and Cellestica agreed to send me a battery. Great except when it
arrived it would not accept any charge. Long phone calls to Sony
Erricson. I requested a replacement phone again, they said no but
agreed to send me another battery which still has not arrived. As
I type this I have been waiting in a Cellestica phone queue for
35 minutes and have been without my phone for 6 weeks. If you are
thinking about this phone don't touch it with a barge pole. If you've
bought one it seems to have a high probalbilty of going wrong. If
it does wrong throw it away, you@ll never get it repaired or replaced.

any problems with the T200. Hungs up, doesn't receive the calls?I've
got it for a half year and never had any problems.Maybe I'm lucky
to have a Swedish version of the software? That could be the case.
The mobile is as easy as pie, simple and apart from EMS and games
doesn't have any extra features. I don't mind it as I was after
a phone not a toy when buying it. Basic functions are great though.
Battery life is excellent, sound is clear, the phone NEVER hungs
up. The only shit is that if the kyepad is locked and the "No" is
hold for more than 10 seconds (which has happened a few times in
my pocket), the phone turns off. So the key lock doesn't work properly.
Otherwise it's just a decent mobile you can rely on.

and irreliability, because it simply isn't true. This phone has
the BEST voice quality I have ever experienced. It's so damn clear
that it sounds as if you're speaking with the person for real! Perhaps
a Swedish phone feels comfortable to be on a Swedish network, because
that's what I'm using it on. Features are also great and the menus
are fast as on no other fone. However, there is one MAJOR ANNOYANCE
with this phone which makes it TOTALLY VOID AND UNUSABLE for some
people. When the keylock is on, you suppose the keys should be locked,
right...? Not on this phone! If you hold the "NO" key for ten seconds
when the phone is locked, it turns off anyways! I know of at least
two people who are considering sending their phones back because
of this. It turns off twice a day while lying in their bags! This
also seems to be connected to the hardware - I believe it's not
a bug but rather a restart routine SE implemented! If SE would be
so kind not to implement this feature in their upcoming phones,
they might just become usable. But I'm sorry, this is such a big
gripe that it shouldn't be accepted. Would have been 5 stars if
