Take the Sony Ericsson P800. Add a video recorder, upgrade the display from 4096 colours to 65,536 colours and you have the Sony Ericsson P900! Other improvements include expanded internal and external memory.

The P900 is a multimedia phone with an integrated digital camera and camcorder. It has a large colour screen with a pen-based user interface, making it appear much more like a PDA than a conventional mobile phone.

The Sony Ericsson P900 has many PDA-style functions. For example, its email manager can be synchronised with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes, and can handle attachments including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Its range of features also include polyphonic ringtones, Java games, multimedia capabilities and of course the camera. It's fair to say that the P900 is *the* gadget for gadget fans!

Finally, and to our amazement, the P900 is both smaller and lighter than the P800! In fact, it's not massively bigger than the T610, which is amazing when you consider what Sony Ericsson have managed to pack into this smartphone! However, the overall experience is sadly compromised by software and reliability issues. Now replaced by the Sony Ericsson P910i.

I can rightfully say the P900 didn't only earn me some much needed publicity, but a few ladies too! One time, I got a call whilst I was approaching a couple of girls. They immediately stopped me, claiming to wanna play music. For all you know, one of em came home with me and from there, Bobs' your uncle! Although the phone lacks memory,the features I enjoy most are Internet, picture phonebook and crystal clear audio.

In my oponion,i can say that Sony ericcson P900 is the best phone that has today.with the big screen,a user can more satisfy with the image,apllication and many more.In addtion,with using the touch screen the user will not feel boring with this phone.So what you waiting for???

had 4 years. dropped it a dozen times and still good! great for videos and taking notes bluetooth big problems tho'. and I gave up using synchronisation for data when I lost it all through overwrite!

I have used over 50 phones in my time from Nokia, Motorola etc. My first experience with Sony Ericsson was the P800 which I thought was superb. But the P900 ah! even better. I cannot possibly imagine a better phone out there. I have had 3 of them and looking for my 4th. The P910i and even the P990i (albeit newer)cannot match it when it comes to value for money. It has everything and if the size does not bother you (the Nokia 9500 and 9300 - no camera are BIGGER)there is really none like it. Graphics, reliability, reception, diary, memory ah!

it is an excellent phone, i bought it to replace the p900 (another excellent phone) and was a bit dubious about it to begin with as i was not sure whether it would live up to my expectations-it did just that. This phone is a great talking point and you get loads of compliments about it. Sure it is a bit bulky, but who cares? no one is going to think less of you for having it, they are almost sure to think more of you!!! i got it second hand, and have had it for almost a year, making it 5 years old and it has not once gone wrong!!! (touch wood LOL)

I've had this phone for 12 months, its buggy and occasionally crashes during software operations, especially if you do 2 things at once like, listen to a mp3 and save an excel sheet. I've lost too many data files to be pleased with this phone, + the synchronisation has never worked right. Conclusion tons of good features but no-where near fool proof.

I have this phone but I can't do all the stuff that I really can do with it cos I don't have a memory card and It looks all beaten up and. I use a lot of grease so the phone is absolutely greasy. I can't store as many videos and pics that i actually can.

NOW lets talk 'bout one of the BEST phone ever made in earth! Before i had umm... 10 nokias and 1 samsung, but now, now i know what is the right brand to me = SonyEricsson! Screen is awsome and all those 3rd party applications (and games) are pretty useful and fun too (i LOVE girders and tracker, killer apps for UIQ), camera quality is good for vga camera and touch screen is fast and comfort to use, only touching pen would have been little better. I change my phones wery often but this one is gonna stay for little bit longer than others. Pros: +Screen (colours, resolution and sunlight use) +Touchscreen is always useful +Symbian UIQ (allows to install all those 3rd party apps what ever made to UIQ) +Nowadays its wery cheap (when used) >200¤ Cons: -Its supports ONLY memorystick duos, ONLY up to 128mb... =( -It brokes easily (coz of big unprotected screen) -kinda weak speaker

I've now had this phone just over a year. I bought it because it is reaaly cool looking and has plaenty of features. Everything worked really well until I decided the phone would look better without the keypad. The keypad can be taken off and replaced with a little bit of plastic which comes with the phone. The phone does look awsome with the keypad off but it really isnt practical unless u keep the phone in the little wallet it is supplied with. I soon broke the screen by dropping the phone about 4 foot onto a concrete floor. I rung orange (who I have my contract with) told them what happened and 24hrs later they a courier

Its a touchscreen!!! but this is more of a problem than not, trust me. its really expensive, y? because of the touchscreen. i HAD this phone untill i droped it...not far from the ground...and the screen broke, i know my fault but iv had a sonyericssonT610 nd droped it loads nd its been fine! so P900 is easy 2 break, too easy! also its HUGE!!! really anoying size. plus pen gets lost or broken easily. also when i took the front of the text icon stopped working so i had to go through loads of menus 2 read a text! it cool phone though great sound, pic quality is amazing (when it came out!), also it easy 2 use and you can change almost everything about it to suit you wich is good. BUT best thing about it is, it looks COOL! the night i dropped it i was at a party nd a fit girl was checking it out, its really good for things like that, showing your friends up :) But def you should get the new one out, the P900i. looks cooler and is more convineiant.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen - Lend me your P900!! I have read hundreds of reviews for the P900 & the 910i most of which will remind you of the infrequent "hang-ups" they suffer from! For me the best thing I ever did was buy the Handango "emulator" for it for US$19.95 online.(Remote P910/P900/P800 v1.44, 1.44 by mobileways.de via www.Handango.com) Sit the GSM in the BaseStation and away you go - leave it on-charge for most of the day at the side of your PC and text to your hearts content - a must when you live away from the UK and need to be in contact frequently on a cost-effective basis. The phone's sufferred from the usual "cracked plastic" where the flip-closed supports rest, but that's down to the abuse of the GSM sitting in my jeans pocket for most of the time when it's not in the cradle. Mp3 ringtones - a gimmick; maybe, but it's good to associate "the good, the bad & the ugly" to some individuals when you're considering "binning" a call; you can even import edited jpgs in MS Photo Editor if you want to for incoming call photos - scary!! (I use NERO 5.5 wave editor) Did I mention abuse? I don't use the supplied soft carry holster or an aftermarket leather cover and after nearly 18-months the P900 is only slightly scratched. Not bad considering it's been dropped on numerous occasions. I use the P900 as an alternative to the company-supplied Nokia 6310i which served me well for over 2 years but the functionality of the P900 of a Contacts Manager alone made me part with the Nokia. Dissapointments - SE's 2.5mm stereo earphones that are supplied can't be replaced with SONY's world-class Hi-Fi MDR EX71SL Fontopia units because the 3.5mm stereo jack isn't compatable. The Memory Stick Duo upgrade is restricted to 128MB unlike the P910i SE's Bluetooth Headset battery life is limited and sometimes a little disfunctional. Would I be without it? No way, just waiting for them to upgrade the 910i and get more onboard memory then I'll buy the next generation class-leading SMARTPHONE.

I HATE THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!!!! got an eletric shock from this (no it hasen't gone 4 a swim) i send it back to SE and they said it was a battry folt.. they did not replace it becouse the said you just need anouther battry ....i soon learned the way he was heading ... AT BYERS EXPENS!! year, right! i went to the vodaphone shop (its a mofo mobile shop) and they said its $104 to replace! well they can keep it! DO NOT BYE THIS TRASH UNLESS U WANT A SHOCK (REALY)

A few days after I bought mine (just over a year ago) I also signed up to buy a brand new BMW 330 cd and as part of that package, I forked out three hundred and fifty quid for the BMW bluetooth kit. To my utter amazement, when I tried to connect the phone to the cars bluetooth system, the thing wouldn't work! Believe it or not, these phones are NOT compatible with BMW bluetooth kits....I can't wait to get rid of it (the phone that is, not the car which I would give five stars any day).

This has to be one of the best all round phones out there, costs a lot but its worth it. Build quality is outstanding and the phone performs well in low signal areas. cosidering it only has a 640 x 480 camera it actually gives fairly good results, a memory upgrade is advised if you take lots of pics and vids or like to store music. can't really fault it, well done Sony..

I really like my P900 but am today waiting on my 2nd replacement handset within a year from Orange (a disgraceful £15.00 charge a time to replace faulty goods - is this legal??). Both units have eventually started 'freezing', and can only be accessed by removal and replacement of the battery. With the current faulty handset (received as a replacement 4 weeks ago) the problem with 'cracking' as described by Michael has occured - there is a nice 'half-moon' cutout in the plastic border showing the edge of the screen. Great functionality when working, but marred by a design flaw.

After having used this phone for more than a year now (bought it in February 2004), there's only one conclusion: It sucks BIG time - and I have suffered long enough! First: It freezes when an SMS/MMS comes in and I try to access it, whilst talking on the phone. The people in Sony Ericsson seem to have not heard of the concept of 'multi-tasking'. Second: It freezes all the time. Create a back-up on the desktop, it freezes. Sync with Outlook (and yes, I have the latest Outlook and Windows versions), it freezes. I am on the phone and attempt a conference call, it freezes. I am on the phone and attempt to use the jotter for important notes, it freezes. Third: I tried to call the service center for any updates on the software or perhaps, patches that I need to install - I was told there's none. Prior to this, I was using a very old Nokia phone and a separate iPaq. I was happy with both - although I tended to leave either one at home because they're separate. I decided a phone-PDA would be the best solution. Hence, my venture into a Sony Ericsson. I chose wrong - I will never buy another Sony Ericsson product again. This phone sucks - and if this were the 'flagship' product of Sony Ericsson, I would think that everything else that they product would suck. I wouldn't recommend it. I wouldn't recommend this brand - At all.

Dear All, I write this review after having nearly 12 months of problems with my p900. Although i have found no problems with software upgrades, etc, i have had real issues with the design. As i use the phone to text, with the flip closed, this has caused cracking on the plastic frame which the two pressure points rest on. I sent the phone back to Sony, expecting it to be replaced - they refused to take any responsability, did not recognise that this was a design fault and told me to pay £55 to get it fixed or they would destroy it (unless i paid £30 to have it returned it is current state)! The phone was repaired and i recieved it back in Jan 05 - it has happened again and once more Sony refused to take any responsability. It would be great to hear from anyone who has had a similare problem!!!!! The buttons have stopped working properly and i am now worried that if i send this back i won't get it returned, i hope others can add to my problem! If your thinking about buying the phone, look at the design, the way the two pressure points of the flip rest on the plastic - compared to the P910 they have altered it so it now rests on the metal! well reading the various reviews to find out if others had my problems with it, i thought i had to add to the pool. Looking back - i've now moved on to a Orange SPV M2000 - dont go there!! - the P900 is a great phone, good size for a PDA /phone and has the touch screen as well as the regular phone keys but its software was so unreliable and i had about 6 in less than a year...and no i didnt give it a bath or throw it off roller coaster! Apparently i didnt install it right...der, hello.. insert the cd, follow the instructions.. are you supposed to write the software yourself or something??? i had nightmares synchronising with my PC hence i moved on. Now i hear that you can flash ur phone's software and add an improved version?!?! wish i was told that by my supplier. I just want a phone and basic PDA that doesnt crash, you can hear in your pocket and can synch up... why is this so hard to find?!?!?!?!?! keeping this simple, all's great with this phone except...bad to synch & software glitches. pretty much just want you dont need! comparing it to other smart phones tho, easy to use, battery i found ok - i charged at night, and good size for what it was. Am now hoping to go for a nokia 9300.... wish me luck!!

First of all, I would like to start by saying I have never before written a phone review, simply because I felt there was nothing I could add to all the others before me. However, on this particular case, I decided to describe my experiences with the phone in the hopes I might help out some people who need something more that a "itz-great-geddit" review. Having read all the reviews here, I feel that some people slightly exaggerate their own experiences. Let me start by saying that indeed the phone's biggest shortfall is its battery life. But in all fairness, I think that all the people who are complaining about it are rather unfair. Have you lot considered the fact that this is a mobile PC, complete with a CPU, memory (both internal & external), software, and most importantly with a HUGE 65K TFT screen which is touch sensitive to boot? Add to all these that it is a mobile phone and as such it needs to connect to the base every few seconds like all phones (therefore requires battery), PLUS the bluetooth function which ALSO drains the battery. And I ask: how could ANYONE reasonably expect all these things from a phone, AND a battery lifetime of several days??? Have a look at the battery pack. It has a rating of a whopping 1260 mA. You will be *very* hard pressed to find an ordinary phone which such rating. Lets be fair here. This is a PDA & phone packed with features. To want all these AND also demand battery longevity, is like the car buyer who wants a sports car that burns fuel like a Toyota Yaris! In all honesty, I am perfectly happy with the battery life on my phone. Ok, I am not a heavy phone user, but I have the bluetooth function permanently on, and still the battery lasts about 2 days. All things considered I find this perfectly acceptable! Now, regarding the bluetooth problems some are having, I have to admit it is a bit touchy, and if you turn off the headset or the phone's bluetooth, it sometimes doesn't reconnect. However, shutting the phone down and restarting always helps. I have never, EVER had the phone crash on me! It is stable as a rock, and although I would like it to run faster in general, it is something I have learned to live with. Also, after the first time you run an app on the phone, it doesn't shut it down, so next time you need it, it loads up instantaneously. I don't want to speculate as to why some people encounter problems with freezes or crashes, but the phone is a mini-PC, and as such it could suffer from cracked 3rd party applications, dodgy screensavers, even viruses (yes they do exist!). Suffice to say, I don't have any of these, and my phone is happy as can be! :) In general, the phone is the best in the market for anyone who needs a PDA & phone. It is not for everyone though. If you don't need the PDA functions and just want an elegant and slim phone DON'T get it! One of the things I don't like is that its rather big and *very* uncomfortable to carry around in one's pocket. (However, you can't have all these features & huge screen and cram it to a matchbox case.) In conclusion, this phone offers internet connection, proper emailing, ability to use Office attachments on the move, upgradability, 3rd party software, huge database of languages both on the T9 and the OS, big sceen size and very good resolution, performance, and many more features which are all there for a good reason. Also the connectivity to PC is very easy and integration to the Outlook program is just wonderful. Downsides? I would say battery life and size, but then again after explaining above, I would say not.

The phone isn`t very user friendly, but when U get to know it, it is a superior. The interface is sometimes confusing and needs to get used to it, but it is not just a phone - it`s a pocket all-in-one device(call it a palmtop or a pocket PC, both names match the possibilities). THIS IS NOT a phone for ordinary people, but for buisnessmen or phone fanatics(me included :) )

Well iv had this phone a year now and still think its the best smartphone on the market! Ppl who cant sync to pc obviously havent installed the drivers correctly it works perfectly 4 me and tell me a nokia that syncs perfectly? i was a nokia nut b4 i bought this n i'll never go back! sure this phone can crash tell me any phone or pc that doesnt? sure its big but there's alot of technology in this phone n if u dont need the pda features buy a regular sized phone! there r a few flawes which is y i gave it a 4 rating but i think it will be a long time b4 we see a perfect phone if ever? this is also pretty easy to use so ppl in previous ratings prob dont hav patience 2 learn its not a regular phone! only bad points r battery life, and txt msg go into draft if u exit requiring u to open the flip. install Sman (a freeware app) as p900 doesnt close down applications taking up valuble ram. im now waiting 4 a mega pixel version wiv 3g n faster proccesser! Wishes! summery buy this phone OR P910 if u want the best pda/ phone on market if u just want a phone its prob not 4 u!

This is "the" phone, if you can't get it to work it's probably because you're doing it wrong. I travel a lot and sail often this phone supplies me with weather reports, shipping forecasts, tide information, news etc etc and at the same time it is a great phone, it is my home & office. If you don't understand gadgets & you're not prepared to learn how to use it, then don't buy it! However a little time can get fantastic results from this miracle, I have seen the replacement phone for this and it is not worth buying (apart from the camera). To reiterate the P900 can be everything!! and the ultimate phone!! if you learn how to use it. You can read bad reports about it but they are probably written by people who expect the P900 to be intuitive which it isn't

I've had this phone for nine months -= complete rubbish. Very heavy. Not user friendly at all. On a plus point - I've thrown it down a flight (or three) of concrete stairs in an attempt to break it so I could claim on insurance to get a new phone. The damn thing still works.... off to find a bridge so my phone can accidentally fall out of my pocket....

Iv had a p900 for the last year and despite not being able to sync the phone with my pc useing sync station i use a IRDA to transfer files and pictures to my p900 and the photo viewer is superb allthough camera is'nt so good. Generally a good phone with touch screen loads of gadgets. Shame it required Sony Duo memory instead of SD memory you can get SD memory alot cheeper.

I've had the P900 for about six months now and I have realised that this is the biggest piece of silicone garbage I've ever owned. The software has been terrible, It has not been possible to download upgrades, the bluetooth has flipped out several times, when I backup the phone from my PC, the program automatically adds national prefixes to the telephone numbers which has generated unrecognisable numbers in my telephone book. I have been to the shop to fix this eight times. They gave me a new one 14 days ago. Last week the bluetooth tilted again and it will not work. Tomorrow I'll hand it in again. With such a high price, one should expect a more reliable product.Do not buy this phone.

I have a PDA, a nokia 6600 and a P900. I recomand 2 use a PDA and that nokia .... P900 is poor, not friendly menu, heavy and with a BAD SOFT

I used to use an iPaq PDA and a Nokia mobile - both great bits of kit, user friendly and effective. Then the iPaq battery tidemarked-up and HP, in their usual rip-you-off-for-parts mode, wanted £150 for a new battery! Thinking myself very clever indeed I ditched them both and bought a P900. What a mistake! Clearly designed by alien invaders the P900 is neither a good phone nor a good PDA. It is complicated, quirky and counter intuitive. A few examples:- > To tell you that it's on it has a bright flashing green light that you can't turn off. Try using the alarm clock feature when travelling and it will light up your bedroom all night long. > Make a call with the flip open; hang up by closing the flip of course? Oh no, not the P900. You have to close the flip THEN press a button to disconnect. An expensive lesson to learn using Vodaphone in New York at £1.25 per minute and not disconnecting. >The bluetooth earpiece is uncomfortable, unreliable (I'm on my 3rd replacement) and inaudible and runs out of power after a few hours. > The internet service is garbage - slow beyond measure. I could drive from home to Google HQ in America in the time it takes to open the site. > The Jog Dial wheel makes controlling the phone easy (NOT). If you try to answer a call in the middle of the night you will probably end up taking a video of your left kneecap or worse. As for battery life, my iPaq with the dud battery held more charge for longer, the P900 is as power hungry as Gordon Brown on speed. In summary, if you want a PDA and a phone then buy them - separately. This combination is a bold attempt but is just too complicated and badly designed to be effective as either. Anyone want to buy a slightly used P900?

On the good side, its a great improvement on the P800, the camara/picture quality is excellent, although the 'night view' was disappointing, so still need fairly good light for pics. I constantly have friends checking my phone out & getting excited over all the features, its lovely for using as your planner, diary, address book, note book, photo album, dictaphone (I recorded my own music from radios & quality not bad for ringtones-endless), if you're sentimental you can store as many texts as you like, its like a mini computer (with memory stick 32 mb so plenty of storage)! However, this is not a phone for someone on the move, still a lot of functions need the flip open & you have to use the pen, which is fiddly & although a nice feature at the start, can become a headache! As for appearance, still a brick, doesn't fit well in my (girly) bag, quite heavy, not very lady-like for me and well, just not that attractive. Gadget loving guys & girls - this is purrrfect! If you only want a basic phone this is NOT for you!

Have had the P900 for 9 months now and apart from the low battery life when using applications the phone is excellent. I get about 3 days battery life when using apps and calls for approx 2 hrs a day. The one problem I found is the frame around ths screen has become damaged where the flip hits it when it closes..a small piece has come off..also 'silver' paint wears off at specific points..awaiting to hear from service dept..I have downloaded many apps and they have all worked perfectly, its a joy to use, I even keep my finances in check using msms money download. I would suggest that those who have had problems with it probably don't know how to use it correctly..for example there is an explorer download so you can delete unwanted stuff with confidence thus freeing up the drives for a more speedy performance. I love the internet and email facility via gprs and can easily download emails from any of my providers..better than the latest P901i I think its brilliant.

Having waited and saved for the P900 I bought one in Feruary this year. I'm now on my second. The first wouldn't hold a charge and now the new one keeps "freezing" requiring me to remove the battery to reset. Sony Ericsson recommended using the latest software, so I updated the phone software and downloaded the latest sychronisation software(PC Suite release 3.0.0). The phone software was installed successfully, despite a freeze during the process, however my pc wouldn't recognise that the P900 was connected to the synch station. As Sony weren't a lot of help I therefore removed the new synch software and re-installed the orignal. I can now back-up my phone. I'm still waiting on an answer regarding the P900 freezing. Would I recommend it, NO!

Dear Sir, I bought a P900 from phones 4u last year and it has been sent back 3 times for repair. It is a ongoing fault with the key pad. When i key in 7 no 4 comes up. I have taken it back to the shop in Glasgow and asked them to replace it but they refuse to do so.I have now sent a letter to Sony Ericsson and asked them to replace it.I will let you know the outcome but untill then i cannot recomend this phone to any one. regards jim

Having 'upgraded' from my trusty Nokia 6310i I expected the bulky size and poor ergonomics of the P900 to be a problem. Not so! Sony have packed in so many exciting ways to loathe this phone that I just haven't had time to hate the fact it's about the size of a housebrick. I really am spoilt for choice, but I guess you have to start somewhere - so here goes. Battery Life Anyone who uses it for business will find that getting through a long day without having to charge the P900 is next to impossible. The phone is therefore only 'mobile' in name. It would be improved if it had its own wind turbine, or perhaps even a small nuclear power station. Software It's great to be able to have so many exciting new applications to choose from - each with its own special way to shut down, freeze, lose your data etc. I especially like the way the phone crashes so badly you actually have to rip out the battery to get it to reset - a masterpiece of software design. Usability Perhaps my favourite thing about this phone is that so much time and effort has been invested in making it really hard to use. If anyone is bored of being able to operate their phone one handed in the dark whilst drunk, simply change to the P900 for a whole new challenge in your mobile life. Such basic operations as receiving a text whilst writing another one or attempting to answer a second call on your headset will cause hours of delight as you mess about with the genius complexity and hard-to-usability of those simple, everyday functions. And don't even think about setting a wake up alarm with your phone on silent - I don't believe it can be done. You never know how much you need Nokia 'profiles' until you don't have them anymore! In summary, if you feel your life isn't complete without a phone that can playback DVD clips - but that needs half the output of Sizewell B to do it - then buy a P900. If you're in the other 99.999% of the population that uses their phone for phoning, texting, callback reminders, storing numbers etc. then don't bother. Stay with your Nokias until their sensible phones also have obscure and useless features to impress your geek mates with. A phone for obsessive techno-freaks only. Normal people beware. You are just about to ruin your life.

The phone has cool features that I doubt one will ever use...but its pretty cool...The big problem with this phone is if you want to use a bluetooth handsfree ear piece the bluetooth function on the phone eats up the battery....I love using my bluetooth earpiece, I hate having to hold that big phone to my ear but the battery just wont last the whole day...I ended up returning the phone

What more can you want? Recently upgraded from my P800 (which I loved too, despite the flaws) and couldn't be happier. Watch videos, listen to music, take photos/clips the list goes on. Really opens up with additional software too (I even found a program to help you quit smoking!). One point - I highly recommend buying a screen protector BEFORE you start using the phone. It'll save a lot of heartache in the end (as I found out with my P800!)

I remember being amazed by the very first phone i held 10 yrs ago, this is the 2nd time i felt that same feeling after having this unit. This phone got all i need for my biz & personal needs. So far for me THIS IS THE ULTIMATE AND PERFECT PHONE! I remember telling myself of not upgrading on my P800 coz it's almost perfect for my needs after giving up the Phone+PDA pair, but after 8mos the P9 came out and i can't get to sleep at night unless i have this ONE! Of course ther could still be some small things that could be added to make this phone 101% PERFECT. Even the O2 doesn't come close to these one...

Had the phone for just over a month and its superb. I was a dedicated Nokia user before, but this has converted me completely. Don't be mistaken - this piece of kit is more than just a phone. The ability to sync with Outlook is great, and with writing recognition and the amount of software that is out there, there's so many things you can do with it, not only to use it as a PDA. Definitely impressive, and very glad it bought it!

i've been using this phone for 4 months and it seems fantastics, but the you have to spend more on software to fully utilised this phone...if only sony ericsson can pre-equip it with standard software like word process and spreadsheet,it will be great...other than that,its a great piece of technology.far better than p800 i used to have..

Jim Murray says "The only way to put a file in a folder on the memory stick is to use a PC". Unless I'm very much mistaken, File Manager (a free third party app) will do that for him, just as it does on the P800. The Outlook sync facilities on this phone are first-rate. Couple this with the ability to view Office docs, and this, for me at least, is an outstanding business phone. It enables me to sit on a train and prepare for a meeting by reading docs or rehearsing presentations, or just catch up with email. I can check flight and hotel details in my calendar. Being able to record voice memos is a bonus. Others are welcome to the video facilities, camera, polyphonic ring tones, games....I can live without!

I love this phone! I could've cried for joy when I finally got one - even if it did cost me the proverbial arm and a leg to buy it sim-free! So why only one star? ... Basically because it isn't much bl**dy use if i can't transfer data between it and my computer ... SonyEricsson are taking forever to get back to me with a solution and at this rate I'll be taking it back to Carphone Warehouse ... Definitely not amused!!

best phone i have had. menu system takes some getting used to after nokia. color screen is very good. mp3 quality excellent. handwriting much better than palm graffiti. bad carry case easy to drop. expensive here in australia $1700 but nevermind if u want a PDA and a phone in one unit this is the one for u. heaps ahead of anything else on the market

this phone is simply amazing i got it in January and even until now i cant find a better phone its got everything and probably has the best colours in all the phones. i used 2 have a PDA but that was huge but after i saw this phone i sold my PDA straight away.At first i was thinking of buying the nokia 6600 but that was nothing comparing to this phone

This phone is simply amazing. It does everything a PDA should do and more, and it functions very well as a phone. A true hybrid device. I use the P900 to view lecture slides in PowerPoint format, take notes, take pictures of relevant material (although quality isnt great it works OK in daylight), view entire movies on its 65k screen that have been compressed to fit onto a 128Mb memory stick, play back MP3s, and use it as a test environment for Java apps I create. Its amazing. Size wise its smaller than the P800 width wise, and very slightly if anything length wise, but it feels considerably more comfortable to hold in the hand. The stylus is a lot better on this as its a proper mini PDA stylus as opposed to a flimsy plastic affair. Themes and T9 predictive text (not present on P800) are welcome additions, and add to the overall feel of quality about the handset. It also works very well with a Sony Ericsson HBH-65 bluetooth headset. One major gripe is the lack of support for Memory Stick Duo Pro, as size is limited to 128Mb sticks.

The phone is OK but the organiser function is disappointing - for one big reason. It is not possible to use the phone to transfer/save files to the memory stick or internal phone memory. For example a message text or a file created in Jotter cannot be saved to the memory stick. The only way to put a file in a folder on the memory stick is to use a PC! Files on the memory stick can be copied to other applications on the phone but not vice versa. The memory stick is a one way street! I thought I was stupid at first but Sony Ericsson confirmed this problem. (It is possible to use the phone to transfer/save files to folders in the Jotter application but, and I may be wrong on this point, it does not seem possible to access Jotter folders through a PC.)

Fantastic phone. I no longer use my Sony Clie, because this phone has everything you need. It runs Symbian rather than Windows CE (which is a good point). I really like it. I have taken the keyboard off my P900 and I think it is better that way. It needs the HandyTools 2004 utilities loaded before it becomes really excellent. It also needs the Opera web browser to be loaded (which comes on the CD) since the built-in web browser lacks some features. This phone is great for checking and writing emails on the move. The handwriting recognition is much better that PalmPilot Graffiti and works really well. Bad points :- 1) The camera is bad in low-light or indoor conditions. It is fine outdoors or in daylight. (minor point). 2) The carrying case has a hopeless clip on it. It falls off your belt very easily since the phone must be carried sideways rather than upright when on the clip. The case is just badly designed. 3) Although the phone is designed to be used without the flip (Sony-Ericsson even provide the screwdriver and a cover to help you remove the flip), a small problem exists in that the only way to lock the screen with the flip removed is to touch the screen where the battery indicator is (bottom right) and click on "lock screen", or else wait for the timeout (which I have set to the minimum 1 minute, after which the timeout triggers). It would be better if one of the side buttons could be reassigned to lock the screen. Most users, in my experience, remove the keyboard flip. This is a truely excellent phone. Truely the best phone I have ever had, and I have had many in the past. It works well with Bluetooth, but lacks a wireless network capability (802.11g). Never mind, it has everything else you need.

This phone rocks. This phone has everything u need. The look is ok but it has all da good features dat u need 2 hav + its linking with computer is simply gr8. Also the sound quality and clarity is unbelievably good +++. Chess game is simply wonderful. i had dis phone for a month & had no prob till now. I Have had the Sony Ericsson Since december and it is the best mobile phone I have ever had. Peviously I had the Sony Ericsson T68ie and it was good yet there was no camera, it only had 256 colour screen and was extreamly slow. The P900 has everything a 65K screen which is excellent and the built in cameras pictures are excellent quality. Also the Video Record fucxtion is really good and with only about 1MB space taken up per minute you can get a lot of recording. The P900 comes with 16MB internal memory and 32MB on its Memoery Sick. The Software with the Phone is excellent. Oh yes the MP3 sound quality is amazing. Its is a lot better than you would of thought. Also the stylus in the P900 is a lot better to the P800 and is neatly tucked away at the top of the phone. The P900 is not slow either and it can easyly have more programs put on it. I would recommend you purchace a bigger memory card if you want it for a MP3 Player but the 32MB is a good size. The P900 is an extreamly good buy and is worth every penny.
