Sony Ericsson K660i Review

Phone rating:

In a nutshell: A lightweight 3G phone with a classic design and a broad range of features, including a 2 megapixel camera, a music player, an FM radio, and a memory card slot. The fiddly keypad isn't the easiest to use however.
Best buy: *Free* with half-price line rental from Dialaphone (Silver & Black) or free from Three (K660i (Lime & White)).

Honestly this is just another clone phone from Sony Ericsson, who are becoming rather lazy churning out nearly identical mid-range 3G phones. Available in Wine & Black, Lime & White, Cyan & Black or Silver & Black. Very similar in design and specification to the K530i, K630i, K770i, and W660i, this one loses points for having a naff keypad and a mediocre camera.

I love this phone. There is nothing wrong with it and it is very reliable, plus its quite small so it will fit into any handbag! A big plus for the loud speakers!

this phone is awesome. i really want it :D my phone ( nokia n95 ) is good, but there is so much stuff i cant really use, considering i'm not a 30 year old buisness man i don't really think it's the phone for me. However it's got a great camera, lots of memory, internet and really loud speakers.

Ok, so the keyboard isnt the easiest thing to use to start off with, but you adapt to it after a few days. The camera is amazing for 2 megapixels! This phone is a replacement for my disatrous Nokia 6288, and the camera on the k660i is MUCH better than that of the 6288. TrackID is brilliant! Google Earth is brilliant! The pre-installed games are brilliant! The user interface is brilliant! (when you scroll through pictures, they move like they do on the iphone, sliding away and slowing down) The camera is brilliant! Remote Control is brilliant! MSN is brilliant! Skype is brilliant! It even looks brilliant on the outside with it's chrome rim going around. Such a choice of colours too! (i went with white and lime) One small problem compared to other phones it that there's no light for the camera. but i think the night mode makes up for that.. it can make 23:00 look like 13:00! all this for £109. i know no other device that has all the things i mentioned bar the iphone. buy it. (i havent said anything about the internet as i havent used it yet) With my psp for gaming, my ipod for music, this phone is the medium in the 3 types of technology i can get my hands on! it makes up for everything those other two cant do.

This phone is really good. It has fast internet speeds, and excellent quality of pictures for a 2mp.Many people complain about the small keypad. Personally, I found texting no roblem what so ever! When I went into 3 to buy the phone i originaly intended on buying the lime and white version. My dad convinced me to get the wine on Black instead. What a mistake. The wine comes out really pink and it loolk like a girls phone (I'm a boy). If you are male, go for the silver and black or Cyan on Black. Female could get any! Just wish it didn't look as feminine as it does. Good phone.

The phone is unbelievably good for its price. Has great features, fast internet speeds, great pics for a 2 m.p camera and is an all round beauty. Would recommend this phone to anyone.

I've just received this phone today and from my initial impression, the design seems to be of outstanding quality - it has a a very sophisticated and elegant feel to it. In terms of the choice of colour, I was a bit confused as to which colour I should get - the options I had were either 'lime on white' or 'wine red on black' - I was after something a bit sophisticated yet unique and different to the standard 'black' colour phones. After careful consideration and taking a consensus from friends and family, I decided to go ahead with the 'wine red on black' and I have to say, it seems as though I made the right choice. It suits both men and women, as the colour scheme is neutral. The 'lime on white' is not a bad choice, although I would describe it as a bit feminine since it has lime green around the edges of the phone whereas the wine red on black version has a silver chrome around the edges of the phone. I would therefore recommend the 'wine red on black' for men although the 'lime green on white' isn't an extremely feminine choice and is recommended for people who like to be bold and are not afraid to be different and unique to the norm! In terms of features, it has beautiful themes and a sophisticated music player, although the headset which comes in the package isn't really that good - upgrade your headset to the HPM-70 or HPM-82 and you will find that the sound quality is drastically improved. The camera is only 2 MP, and for me - this is a decline in quality since I am upgrading from the K800i which was a cybershot phone boasting a 3.2 MP resolution. The camera quality would be best described as reasonable - nothing too outstanding but bearable. The internet is a pleasure to use on this phone and it is pleasing to see that the browser has been improved with the addition of a pointer and the ability to scroll across and down and make the appropriate selection. The only downside that I have with this phone is that it makes, what appears to be, a 'squeaky' noise when using the keys along the wine red panel - this may just be a slight anomaly, or the fact that the keys are new. It's not too annoying, but due to this I am awarding this phone 4/5 for what would otherwise be a 5/5 phone. Overall, I would say that this is an excellent addition to the SE range of phones. This product is targeted at a wide consumer range - it is a phone that is well balanced in terms of features but does the basics very well. Well done SE :-)

I bought this phone because my samsung e900 was broken I gave this phone a go but soon found out that I could hardly send a text with the tincy keypad, also it wasnt working for about 45 minutes so I went to check it which costed £25 and they said the phone normally does that, it was a complete and utter dissapointment, I would rather go back to a faulty phone than to use this piece of rubbish!!!! I would certainly NOT reccommend it it would be a waste!!!

Great phone, even better once you give it a software upgrade. The keypad is not difficult to use ar some make out. This phone is stylish and feels alot ones expensive than it actually is. Camera is ok at 2mp. It has bluetooth 2.0 and is AD2P enabled-compatible with playing music through my bluetooth headphones.. Great for java applications and especially opera. Ok battery life. This is great on the 3 network and comes with msn built in and also has google maps built in and you can pin-point your location. This is A cool phone and i have no problem texting. I own a K850i too and this is easier to use. Anyone else that says this is rubbish are liars or have a non UK model.. I would buy this phone again. Thanks se!

After briefly using this phone last week, i'm not impressed at all. The keypad is VERY difficult to use, but still not as difficult as the SE k550i(this phone must have been some sort of revenge by SE on their customers). The battery compartment creaks, and just as I was about to send a text the phone crashed. It looks like yet another Sony Ericsson rehash. It is also known to be buggy.Way to go, Sony Ericsson....yet again.
