The
Sony Ericsson K300i offers the functionality of the K500i at a lower
price, pushing Sony Ericsson's hugely successful "K" range
down to the top of the budget camera phone class. The K300i has
virtually the same features as the K500i, so read our K500i
review for more details, but the only real differences between
the two are that the K300i is chunkier (thicker) and slightly heavier
and has a smaller screen.
Highlights
of the K300i include a built-in camera and video recorder, MP3 player,
3D Java games, a good 65k colour display and a decent 12 Mbytes
of memory.
If
you can afford a little extra, the K500i is a better phone, but
for the price the K300i is very hard to beat. What other phone in
this price range can offer these features? At present the K300i
is the best in its class. Now replaced by the K310i.
Features
of the Sony Ericsson K300i include:
Screen: TFT display, 65,536 colours, 128 x 128
pixels
Built-in camera with VGA resolution (640 x 480
pixels) and 4x digital zoom

This fone is great for the low price. Address book, user defined
shortcuts at standby, atomatic ansering machine, internet connectivity,
entertainment options, MP3 compatable, Cam, video quality, Oranizer
options, wide range of setting, infrared. RS232 port etc...etc...
are great in this fone. The negative point in this fone is small
screen and small button-ed keypad. Overall, features wise, this
fone is great, stylish, and handy. If you are investing for the
first time on the handsets, this will be the best. Without reading
any manual u can operate major of the features, its user friendly
to handle. The connectivity options at every level will help you
to share the data via infrared with other sets. Go for this mobile.

meant to be worse than those. It is cheaper than those = worse.

This phone now £50 on Orange. Absolute bargain! Anybody whinging
about memory, connectivity etc. need to give their head a shake
and buy a more expensive handset. It doesn't have bluetooth because
it's built to a budget, it doesn't have a card slot because it's
built to a budget, it's only got 12 meg because it's built to a
budget!!! If you wanna download mp3 go buy a data cable for a fiver,
it's not rocket science is it?! (or maybe it is!!!) This is my first
SE after being a Nokia man for years and I'm pretty impressed. I
find the menus easy to use. I like the address book which can have
multiple numbers/e-mails etc. for each contact so you've not got
3 or 4 entries for one person (first phone I've had that does this!).
The phone is stylish and compact and looks like it's worth 2 or
3 times what you pay for it. One or two gripes are that the buttons
are a bit small and 'clicky' and the sound is a bit tinny but these
are minor details to me. If you want an inexpensive phone that won't
embarrass you then this is it! Rating:

Bought this phone because it was cheap, and had all the features
I was looking for, and to be honest, i thought it would be terrible.
I charged it up, and WOW. The camera is just as good as any NEC
phone i reckon.. even if the specs say otherwise. The unlimited
video recording is EXCELLENT.. and the frame rate is brilliant.
The zoom doesn't blur at all. THe midis sound of a high standard,
better than my Ngage in fact. THe music DJ is AMAZING. I havent
yet had a chance to listen to MP3's on it, but im guessing that
they will sound good aswell. DEFINATELY buy this phone people. Only
prob is the 12 mb memory. You can fill it up quickly. Rating:

not distort at higher volume for the K500i. try playing the same

I was really excited about getting the K300i because of the price
(£79) and features it came with. This was the also first time I'd
ventured out of Nokia territory having had my outdated PAYG Nokia
8310 for 3 years and 2 Nokia phones before that. But I'd read good
reviews about the K300i and took the plunge to update my handset
to 21st century colour technology. For the first couple of weeks
I loved my K300i to bits and couldn't recommend it highly enough.
Now after using it on a regular basis for a couple of weeks I'm
at my wits end and about to take my 3rd replacement phone back to
the shop. So far I've have software errors on all the phones (one
even wiping all but 4 random numbers from the sim card) and high
pitched background noise when calling. I'm not happy and fed up
going from one replacement K300i to another. I love the style of
the phone and its simple menu and layout but its just not reliable.
Maybe I've just had a run of bad luck with each K300i experiencing
the same software problems. Then again maybe I was just lucky before
with Nokia. Hopefully you wont get the same problems as I've experienced
but you have been warned. For all lack of style I think I'm going
back to Nokia as at least they are reliable phones. Rating:

When I bought this phone, I thought I was smart by choosing a cheap
phone with a lot of features. What a foolish decision. Its the little
things that count..the 'hidden' aspects. Firstly..no USB port/cable,
and the infrared plays up too much, and its too weak. Theres no
bluetooth, so connectivity is appalling. There dont come any headsets,
nor is there a port for standard headsets..u guessed it..u gotta
buy the 'sony ericsson headsets'..sheesh. Buttons are too small,
and the joystick is a joke. Stereo is ok.Software sux big time...very
user-unfreiendly. Vibration is not even noticeable.Camera doesnt
even look like 1.3mp. The battery adaptor for recharge has a jack
thats made out of plastic...again non standard, and it broke...bloody
useless crap...new adaptors are expensive, and u gotta get the "sony
ericsson adaptor". The phone gets scratched far too easily. The
camera doesnt even have a glass slip or an alternate covering so
be extra extra careful with ur phone. yada yada yada the list goes
on and on and on. final thought: if ur getting this phone, only
think about using it as a phone..nothing more, nothing less. i think
ill go and buy a motorola e398..only $25 more expensive, and it
comes with a super cool surround stereo, bluetooth, powerful flashlight,
headsets etc etc. i thinkk thats enuf from me lol. Rating:

The phone certainly looks good and has preserved the simple and
attractive styling of its predecessor. It does not have a very wide
range of functions, and is designed to be a good day-to-day phone
without having very flashy specifications. Unfortunately, it comes
without Bluetooth, which makes getting photographs to or from the
phone a slow process if you have a modern laptop without an IR port
and don't want to pay for sending pictures via your network. My
main problem with the phone is that it has a cheap and plastic feel
in comparison to the well-made T610. The battery cover is very flimsy
and creaks and slides around as the phone is handled. Touching almost
any part of the chassis also results in creaking, so the whole thing
feels cheap and disposable. Overall, rather disappointing when it
could and should have been better. Rating:

I've had this phone for about a month now, and whilst it has some
great features, it does lack applications such as Bluetooth, and
a fully functional MP3 player. This hasn't affected me too much,
as I have an MP3 player, but I've yet to find a way to transfer
files from my computer to the phone. The good things about this
phone are that the picture quality is excellent even for a mobile
phone, the predictive text is better than I've ever had on a phone
and the infra-red feature, which allows data transfer between other
mobiles, so you don't have to pay 40p to send a snapshot to a friend.
Taking the aesthetics into account, the phone could be better: being
all one colour would be nicer instead of the blue and silver. Personally
I find the phone hard to text with, and those keys make one hell
of a noise, and are far too small even for my fingers, and I'm sixteen.
All in all, an excellent phone for the price, not as good as other
Sony Ericsson phones on the market, but for the price, why bother

Well, as a reporter in the past, I used K700i. I have to say that
it was much better but be carefull with the battery. I am now using
K300i as I do not need to record any sound or hearing a radio as
I love my new discman. I always love Sony Ericsson as the product
is based on our needs lah. Rating:

most of the below reviews are missing the point. this is not supposed
to be a rival to the k500i and upwards this is the cheaper brother.
its a downgraded k500 but it is sold as an upgraded t610. i think
it is great value for money and if you are looking for a cheapish
video phone (like me) buy it. perfect for some of us. Rating:

No doubt this handset k300i is really outstanding if we see its
price. Very good software and design especially the blue color.
No other brand like Nokia and Samsung are offering this kind of
specification in this price- range. SE is Best value for your money
and I like SonyEricsson because its number 1 in the innovation at
affordable price. Rating:

Camera quality good compared to others in its class, producing images
of similar quality to the more expensive K-series selection. Also
includes features such as the presence of 10 MB of internal memory,
mp3 as a call signal support, 3D-Java games support, built-in speaker
phone and PC synchronisation. Excellent battery life and Looks and
feels expensive. Without any doubt the best phone on the market
for the price - don't hesitate, go and buy it now! Rating:

if k500i and k700i are in the upper class, k300i is in the middle
of upper and midlle classes.. lol. it's size is much smaller than
the 2 aforementioned phones, and it is lighter and more dimunitive
than oher phones... aside from camera, k300i is also enabled with
vid recording and also supports MP3 files.. the probloem with this
is that the STN display doesn't help when seeing and valuing the
night-mode taken pictures.. overall, it's a great phone and it's
pretty enjoyable...... i love it!!!!! Rating:
