In a nutshell: The Samsung L760 limited edition Ted Baker
is a 3G fashion slide phone that comes in a choice of blue, pink
or brown. With its metallic finish and mirror-effect screen it looks
cool and different to other sliders. It's equipped with 3G video
calling, a 2 megapixel camera, a music player, FM radio, Bluetooth
wireless connectivity and a memory card slot.
The Samsung L760 Ted Baker is a 3G slide phone
in traditional Samsung style, except that it's been given a makeover
by the British fashion designer, Ted Baker, so the version that's
available in the UK isn't the one pictured on the left, but the
colourful versions pictured below - available in a choice of blue,
pink or brown.
This leaves us slightly confused about
what the L760 Ted Baker is for. Samsung have promoted the L760 as
a blogger's phone. It has a fast 3G connection with special blogging
software that lets you update your blog with text, photos, videos
taken from your mobile. Maybe Samsung realised that hardly anyone
would want such a phone, so they revamped it as a fashion phone
to rival Nokia's Cath Kidston range. But this leaves it with a load
of expensive tech stuff that probably won't get used.
Anyway, what you do get from the L760
Ted Baker is a cool slide phone with a metallic and mirrored finish,
funky accents, plus all the usual gear such as a 2 megapixel camera,
music player, FM radio with RDS, expandable
memory and Bluetooth (including support for a Bluetooth
headset). It's quite expensive though, and we dislike the mirror
finish as it makes the screen harder to read outdoors.
On balance it's not our favourite
Samsung slider, but that's really just a personal opinion and we
can't point to anything that's actually wrong with the phone. But
you know us ... we just can't stop having strong opinions about
phones! Alternatives to consider are the Samsung
U600, Samsung U700 or Nokia
6500 Slide.
Features of the Samsung L760 Ted Baker include:
3G video calls
2 megapixel camera
Video camera
Display: TFT, 262,144 colours, 176 x 220 pixels
(2.0 inches)

this phone is definetly good for those who are high maintenance
or brand obsessed. its not too bad, but nothing to "WOW!" about
as some phones are. what really annoyed me was the button tone thing
not being able to shutuppp, but today i finally realised how to
fix that. i loveeee that it can have a password for everything-thats
the best bit. cameras not great but its acceptable. i have to say
it runs out of battery quite quickly and for some reason if i switch
it off, it doesnt switch back on until i charge it which i think
is just ridiculous. I was told that if i take off the 3G thing the
battery would last longer...does anyone know how to do that? all
in all its an average phone that looks very elegant and stylish. Rating:

This is the best phone I have had. I have had it for 18 months now
and it is still going strong. I haven't had a phone last this long
with me before and not develop some kind of fault. I got the phone
when it first came out (£150) and see that it costs a lot less now
- really good buy. I have dropped this phone on countless occasions,
soaked it etc, it has been abused and the only noticeable things
are a couple of little chips in the shiny pain, nothing major and
as long as it still works then who cares. Even recently I have had
a few people complement me on my "cool, snazzy" phone. Can't fault
it. Rating:

I bought this after I literally threw my Sony Ericsson K850i under
a car with frustration (the WORST phone, I have ever had the displeasure
to deal with!). It is sturdy, has a good battery life, has good
3G reception, even in the middle of Saddleworth moor, and best of
all, it doesn't crash every time you receive a call or message (take
that Sony Ericsson!) It's not all singing all dancing, (the camera
is actually worse than some vga efforts I have seen) but it does
what it does well, and is quite nice to look at. You CAN turn off
the keypad noises I found, after a little exploration. Go into the
settings, and go to the alerts tab. Turn the sound down to zero.
You still get the ringing tone, you still get message tones, but
no annoying keypad tones - result!!!! Rating:

This device is awesome, it has all the features you need in a phone.
The downside to this is that it only records 30 second videos, Whenever
you try loggin into Facebook Mobile via the main internet site it
keeps giving some message telling you about the sites certificates
and keeps bombarding you with them till it eventually rejects you
access to the page. Two more problems i have with the phone is that
it randomlly switches off then back on without warning whenever
you try opening an application, are accesing a new web site on the
internet via a wap link and sometimes even does the same when you're
accessing the internet itself. The other problen is that you can't
mute the key pads tone at the phones settings because you can only
choose between "beep" and "xylophone" (mute is not there) and going
at it by pressing the volume keys on the left side of the phone
it also switches off the tune that the device makes when you switch
it on or off. The most disappointing thing is that this phone is
only 5days old so its still brand new and now i have to go exchange
it with another just days after its purchase!? I'm truelly disappointed
with you Samsung i didn't expect this at all. Hate to rain on the
parade but i expected better than this. A well deserved efford from
Samsung though: 40%yay 60%nay Rating:

THis phone is quite a good phone if you think about it. It has a
good price, good amout of features, and is durable (unlike the Nokia
N70 which happened to bust 7months after owning it for no reason).
I agree with everyone that the downfall is the fact that it does
not come wid games and that it is hard to download them, but so
what, if you want games, use your money and get something like a
nintendo DS. Also, the look is quite good, but be gentle with it
coz it scratches easily. I keep my screen cover on so that the screen
doesn't scratch. It holds micro SD cards up to 2GB which is quite
good. OVERALL, i think its a very good phone, but i just don't think
it fits 5*. Rating:

Had this phone for about a month now, and its ok. At first the battery
wasnt lasting for more than 2 days, so I took it back to the carphone
warehouse, and they suggested that I keep the 3g swithced off while
it wasnt beang used, also to make sure that the bluetooth was switched
off when not in use. This really helped, and now the battery lasts
alot longer. If you are in a poor signal area then this affects
the battery, as the phone is constantly trying to find a signal.
Another problem is that I cant change the message tone - but this
was the same with my D600. Also the pc software that was supplied
doesnt work .. I asked about this in carphone warehouse and they
said you can download it form the samsung website, but I cant seem
to find it, meaning that at the moment anything I want on the phone
from the pc (eg music) or pics etc from phone to pc, I am bluetoothing
from the button to the D600, and then sending to/from pc, and then
bluetoothing to the button via the D600. Apart from this it is a
reasonably good phone, although I think I prefer the reliable D600. Rating:
