In a nutshell: The Samsung F480 Tocco is a high-spec touchscreen
phone that offers fantastic features in a sexy ultraslim package.
The features include a 5 megapixel camera, music player, FM radio,
ultra-fast 3G web browsing and loads of memory! However we have
downgraded its rating because of problems with dropping calls and
poor voice quality. Best buy: *Free* from Dialaphone

Review:
June 2008.
Samsung
are on a roll with touchscreen phones in 2008. First the Armani,
then the F490 Nerva, now the F480
Tocco (Tocco comes from the Italian word for "touch".)
The F480 is very similar to the F490, and so the question is, what's
the difference between the F480 and the F490 and which is better?
(OK, so that was two questions.)
On
the face of it, these are two very similar phones. They both have
a touchscreen user interface using the "award-winning"
Croix UI, with haptics (vibration) for tactile feedback. Both are
good looking phones - the F480 has a brushed metal finish and is
supplied with a leather case to help protect it from scratches.
The F480 has a conventional QVGA resolution screen instead of the
extra long screen used by the F490. Losing screen resolution is
bad news for touchscreen phones, and the Tocco's screen is just
2.8 inches (the F490 has a 3.2 inch screen.) Both are ultraslim
phones, with the F480 being a tiny bit thinner at an incredible
11.6mm.
The
touchscreen interface works well in both phones. Most people seem
to have no problems using the phones, although fast texting can
be a bit of a mission. Both have great cameras. The camera on the
F480 is very similar to the one on the F490 - 5 megapixels with
autofocus, digital zoom and LED flash. The F480 introduces a new
gee-whiz feature called "Smile Shot". According to Samsung,
"Smile Shot is able to identify when the subject is smiling
and automatically takes a picture." Reading that made us smile,
but we're probably being too cynical. Seriously though, we actually
believe that the more "stuff" that camera phones introduce,
the harder it is for people to use them effectively. Still, the
Tocco can take good pictures, but as with all camera phones don't
expect to become David Bailey with this thing.
The
Tocco has a good music player (as you'd expect) that can play most
file formats and has the advantage over the F490 of having an FM
radio included. We're also delighted to see the huge amount of memory
supplied: 240 Mbytes of internal memory, plus the option to add
up to 8 Gbytes of microSD memory. That's enough to store thousands
of songs. We like it. On the music front, the Tocco also introduces
a feature called Shazam (no, seriously) that acts like Sony Ericsson's
TrackID service and can identify a
song that you're listening to.
Another benefit that the Tocco has over the F490
is a souped-up 3G connection. The 3G implementation uses HSDPA at
7.2 Mbps, enabling download speeds faster than most home broadband
connections.
In fact the Tocco is a brilliant platform for the mobile internet,
with its big touchscreen and dedicated Google application.
Unfortunately,
the Tocco has two serious problems. Firstly it has a habit of dropping
calls. Secondly the voice quality is sometimes poor. Not all users
experience these problems, and they may be related to the firmware
version on the phone, although some of our users have reported that
they still have problems with the latest firmware. Because of these
problems, you are taking something of a risk if you choose the Tocco.
So
to answer the question: what's the difference between the F480 and
the F490? The F480 has better features (FM radio, faster 3G, more
memory) but the F490 has a bigger screen and is more reliable. Which
is better? Let's
answer the question this way: the new

I've had this phone for a couple of days without complaint. The
drag & drop interface is bright & clear and has a widget that can
be drawn out from the side. The haptic feedback (vibration) is adjustable
along with key volume. The phone isn't as customizable as I would
have hoped and there are no themes for it (yet). I had heard of
difficulties with the 5 megapixel camera, however you have to hold
the camera button halfway till it focuses, then you can take your
snap. Has great sound quality from the headphones and an excellent
fm radio. I am very pleased with the Tocco, you will too Rating:

Got this a few days ago, love the phone, very sexy. Texting will
take a while to get used to but I really like it. Have a few questions,
can anyone help? How do you delete the recent contacts that you
have texted. There doesn't seem to be anywhere in the call log or
message menu that lets you delete the number you texted. I can't
put more than one number on each contact so I have to put people
in twice for with their home and mobile. is that right? Also does
anyone know how to use the birthday thing? For the life of me I
can't find a way to put contacts birthdays in! and seeing as I have
forgotten quite a few this year, I really need too! [Reply from
Sam on 31st July 2008: Helen, You don't have to make duplicates
of everybody, for each number; just go into your phone book, go
to the name you want and click 'Options'. Click 'Edit' then 'Add
more fields'. there you can add business mobile, business landline,
personal landline, etc etc. They will all then be under one name.]

I've had the F480 now for about 8 weeks and I find it fantastic.
Getting used to the touchscreen was really easy and the optional
vibration feedback when touching a button is great, so you know
the command has been recognised. My sister has the LG Viewty, which
has handwriting recognition (works perfectly, but slower than texting
with touchscreen so why bother?) and scrolling menus on the Viewty
is awful, awful, awful; scrolling on the F480 is much more responsive
and faster. I also find that going through the menus while in-call
is much simpler and easier on the F480 when compared to the Viewty.
I've no idea why this site gave the Viewty a higher score than the
F480 and my sister is infuriated in going the LG route ;-) Rating:

A case of design over function ?? Had my original phone replaced
by Orange due to call drop out after 10-15 seconds. 2nd phone did
exactly the same. Now Orange state it is a known problem and they
are working with Samsung to produce a fix. Originally they refused
a refund but under sale of goods act they can't refuse as there
is a fault with the manufacture of the phone that is widely known
and accepted by themselves. Search the internet and you'll find
Vodaphone are having the same issues..... It's the phone that is
defective and mine was the 2nd version with the updated software.
Great phone to look at, very sexy, but long winded and if you want
to make calls with no problems ,,, Forget it. I'm sending mine back,
I want a phone that works not a phone that the manufacturer and
service provider both know there's a fault with. I've seen the Olympic
advert about keeping in touch . . . not with this phone you won't

POSITIVES: This "phone" is brilliant at being everything but a phone!
complex technology, such as internet browsing is good, camera is
ok although hard to take a non-blurred image, sound quality is good
but phone conversations are irritatingly loud and distorted. Very
pretty phone however, this is not enough to cloud over basic functionality
you expect from a phone. NEGATIVES: As far as the basics go, sending
a text. This is a nightmare, unless you have pins for fingers it
is very easy to loose your entire message that has taken you at
least 5-10mins to write. The WORST feature is calling people, the
phone hampers signal, tested against my old phone (Motorola SLVR)
on Orange (same SIM), the Motorola keeps at very least 1-2 bars
everywhere in my house with 2-4 being average readings. Compared
with the Tocco which barely keeps 1 or 2 bars for more than 10 seconds.
Tried calling a family member both of us inside the house, me ringing
from the tocco, connected fine but poor audio, I tried to move away
from where I was standing, before I managed 5 or 6 steps from where
I started the conversation dropped... Form: 4/5 Functionality: 0/5

I though a long time before getting this phone after reading the
reviews but went ahead. The phone is fantastic as a gadget, first
class, but to use as a phone its very disappointing. As someone
else said, the dropped calls is unbelievable. During one 20 min
conversation I had to redial 5 times. The phone was tested and had
a fault and was replaced but there was no change, as was the third.
I have now given up on this phone. I was gutted to send them back
but at the end of the day if I can not relay on it to make a phone
call then whats the point. The only other thing that was awkward
was if in a call I had to use the key pad as it was awkward bringing
it up and messing about with it. Camera was good as phones go. Shame
really as I really did like the phone to play with. Rating:

The Tocco is a class act - a phone with features to back up its
wonderfully sleek appearance! I originally got the U900 Soul but
exchanged it for the Tocco and I'm so glad I did! (The U900 Soul
is also a good phone but it was too similar to my old D600 and I
felt that when the U900 was slid open it felt a bit top-heavy. The
U900’s touch panel worked well but it is a bit of a gimmick).
The Tocco's touchscreen works like a charm! I am into my videos
and with an 8GB memory card the Tocco can store loads! The Tocco's
large 2.8" screen is excellent for watching videos on and controlling
by touch is wonderful. The sound is pretty decent also! In Richard
Miller's earlier review he complained that the file name of the
film or video clip was constantly displayed on the top of the screen
which seriously impaired his viewing pleasure. I don't know if it's
anything to do with the network he's on or his particular phone's
software but my phone plays videos perfectly with nothing on the
screen except the video! The widget idea is fun, but the choice
of widgets is fairly limited and I'd love to be able to add others.
All-in-all, I've got a phone that makes my friends jealous! Rating:

After deliberating greatly and reading countless reviews, I finally
took the plunge and purchased a Tocco a few days ago. First impressions
were good as the phone looks superb and the touchscreen is bright
and clear. It quickly became apparent, however, that this phone
has some major, basic flaws; it is virtually impossible to hear
the person at the other end of the line properly during calls and
it is extremely difficult to compose a text using T9 on the tiny,
fiddly virtual keypad. These problems render the device next to
useless as a phone. On top of this, the widgets are not customisable,
meaning the user is unable to create simple shortcuts. It is not
possible, for example, to even add a shortcut to the text message
inbox, to the main screen - quite an obvious oversight. In summary,
the phone looks very good but is terrible to use. Not recommended. Rating:

The phone does have a serious flaw and that is its live call volume.
Voice calls sound "muffed" and are too low (on max vol). Calling
in certain environments i.e. outside where there is traffic noise
the phone becomes virtually useless. Another problem the phone has
is with its camera. I've had samsungs in the past and the main problem
they have always had is images come out blurry however the problem
with this phone is different. A second after you take a shot you
momentarily see a very clear image however after 0.5sec later the
image becomes pixelated and unclear (This is under good light and
poor light conditions). I have tried the highest quality settings
and it does not change the problem. I have looked at forums and
its seems the trick is to edit the image for some weird reason it
then shows up clearer. Another weird thing is once you upload the
images onto the PC they are similar to the images you see before
they become pixelated a split second later. I'm not going to bother
waiting for a firmware upgrade ( as this I think this will only
solve the problem with the images but not the problem with the volume
of the calls). Samsung have released this phone too soon (without
getting rid of the bugs at the consumer's expense) just to try and
take a share of the touch screen 5MP camera market. It is a shame
become the touchscreen works well and its an amazing phone to look
at. Rating:

and lack of applications. Should have included buttons as well as
the screen touch, it strains your thumb. Nightmare to text & to
update contacts. Very basic 'contact' folder. Camera is teribble
bad quality on screen and when to download. The slideshow is very
very basic, when browsing the contents of the Sd card , the card
symbol appears on each photo , so you cannot see the photos when
in listed mode. The software that came with it is average. This
phonje is stylish but lacks good interface and usability. What a

I have had this phone a week and got it free on my upgrade with
T-mobile. Positive points: Much easier to text with than all the
other rubbish phones out there right now, just takes some getting
used to using the index finger instead of thumb. Very nice looking
and does everything you need. Negative points: Call volume is quite
bad, but I found problem is solved when you use the headset. Also,
not had a problem with calls dropping. Two minor annoyances: alarm
doesnt display the time its set for next to it (like my old beloved
SE K800i) and to change the profile it's a long process and there
seems to be no shortcut. Overall however, I think its the best phone
out there in the market, unless you get an iphone which is just
bulky especially for females. Rating:

I,ve had mobile phones since they were brick sized in the 80's.
I love this phone . . .BUT. 2 serious drawbacks for me, 1) The quality
of incoming speach is very poor and difficult to understand, some
voices are OK, most are muffled, this is the phone not the other
party !and 2) the number of dropped calls after about 10- 15s is
unreal ! I've never had a phone thet routinely drops this amont
of calls, the connection is established and there is time for a
quick hello, after which the call just drops. I've checked and this
is the Mk2 software. However all the other features of the phone
are very good, battery life is great, especially with 3g turned
off, camera and text is OK.... but a phone is a phone and if it
won't stop dropping calls then it'll have to go back. I'd be interested
to know if other users with the later software are still having
the drop out problem,(It happens regardless of signal strength and
then calling the phone even when it has good signal it won't connect) Rating:

can't get over how shocking the camera is (yes, I've adjusted to
the highest settings). Pictures seem ok when they're downloaded
but like someone else on here, I've deleted so many pictures because
of the poor quality of them when viewed on the phone. I've found
that when I add a filter in edit mode to a picture then it becomes
a lot crisper but I don't want to have to do that to every picture.

Ok - this is my 2nd review of the Tocco (1st one after 3 days) and
now I am reviewing after a FORTNIGHT! This phone is awesome and
I would like to take up on a few of the negative points by some
previous reviewers. 1) I have no problem with the sound piece when
I am listening to another caller - in fact, my son rang me today
at work and a colleague of mine heard him clearly and she was sitting
on the other side of the table to me. 2)What is all this about the
contact field being to small that the contact names are truncated?
I have over 100 contacts and not one of them is truncated (how about
'Letchworth Golf Club'or 'Gary Smith (Chiropractor)' for a couple
of sample contacts - no problems at all there. What are you all
talking about??!! 3)Camera is very good - not as good as the SE
850i I must admit, but I put this down to the LED flash when I think
that a Xenon flash should have been built in. 4)And what is all
this with the aching digit? God, this phone screen only needs the
lightest of touches to get a response - I totally do not understand
that complaint! 5) As for phone cut outs - I have never experienced
that one yet. Well, after all that I still two have my original
two gripes with this phone - you cannot insert smiley icons into
messages (only the silly punctuation ones - eg. :) ;) :* etc. I
know the basic ones, but there are some that I haven't a clue what
smiley they stand for. I know that they are embedded in the phone's
memory because you can see them all in the camera application -
so why not in the message application? Also, unlike the SE phones,
you cannot have themes or screen savers which I miss. However, I
am compensated with the latter because I soooo love the little drag
and drop widgets and the screen interface. Well, that's about it.
So,to summerise - THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST PHONES OUT THERE FOLKS! Rating:

In a word, outstanding! I done my homework before buying this phone,
as i do every time i am due an upgrade. I wanted a touch screen
phone, and as you have probably found out by visiting various sites
and reading numurous reviews there are a few to choose from. The
fact that you are reading reviws would also suggest you take your
choice of phone as seriously as i do. Look no further, the Samsung
Tocco is THE phone to get! I knew that after having it in my hands
for about 30 seconds, before buying the Tocco i also had my hands
on the Viewty, Secret and iphone (never really fancied the iphone
but had to give it a try) There will always be a few negative comments
in reviews for every phone out there, can i just say this, ignore
them all re the Tocco! Touch screen phones are the phones of the
future and this one is leading the field by miles! If there is a
negative its not re the phone its the user manual, most manuals
i have read (and i read them all from cover to cover, it has to
be done to get the most from your phone)are thick little books and
the contents are precise in all aspects of the phone use. This manual
is poor by any standards! Basically you need to navigate your way
through the phone without much help and learn all the in`s and out`s
by trial and error, bit frustrating at times, especially re textin,
but also sadly enjoyable! Whoever is responsible for the Tocco`s
manual has probably had previous employment in D.I.Y. They would
have been better leaving all the pages blank and just printing "Get
on with it" on the cover! Sound = excellent, Look = outstandig,
Feel = outstanding, Camera = outstanding, Widgets = amazing, Texting
= outstanding (when you get the hang of it) that was my main concern
as i text text text, honestly, take it from me, its a doddle! Dont
consider any other touch screen phone, this one is the Euro Championship
winner (albeit with its italian touch) the other touch screens are
the England`s and Scotland`s (never even made it to the finals)

To Ross. I didn't say the FONT of the names was too small! I said
that you cannot put LONG names in, they need to be TRUNCATED, and
by that I don't even actually mean long names but normal names (you'll
see). I've had the N95 now and the difference is chalk and cheese.
Don't get me wrong, I think the Tocco is really nicely designed,
but I'm sure if I had it for a few months I'd end up running it
over !! (example, the N95, when adding contacts you can edit the
labels, add new labels, and have EXTREMELY long names, no problem.
You can also put the N95 into a 3D Wide Sound (can't remember the
name exactly, but wife's is set up like that and it makes the N95
the loudest ringing tone of ALL phones). Also, the camera has to
be seen, it's like walking around with a standalone camera, it's
that good. I think all reviewers should actually list how long they've
been using their phones before reviewing them (I tried both the
Tocco and the N95 for 1 full week each). Rating:

Swapped my Tocco for a N95 and feel like I've been released from
Prison ! The N95 just gets on with the job, the software on it is
awesome. The Tocco, after a while, does hurt your index finger (all
that screen tapping) and when you go to a N95 you realise how bad
a touch screen is for your digit. I'm almost of the opinion (maybe
a bit premature) that Touch screen's won't be a phone feature for
too long, as it just seems (judging from the N95) that the usual
keypad for texting/inputing numbers etc is the only sensible way
on a phone. The N95's camera is light years ahead of the Samsung's
(the latter's 'lag' was what was most noticable). I get the impression
that most of the reviewers on here extolling the virtues of the
Tocco have only had the phone for a few hours ! So to sum up what's
poor about the Tocco; 1) Caller volume not loud enough, 2) Caller
speach quality poor, 3) Phone has cut out whilst on calls for no
reason 4) Contact Name field not long nearly long enough 5) Touch
Screen will irritate (maybe even damage digit) after about a week
(let alone after an 18month contract !) 6) Camera may be 5m, but
serious camera lag. 7) Software not a patch on Nokia's N95. Rating:

This Tocco's definitely have issues !! 1) The in-call volume is
simply not loud enough (confirmed with other reviewers saying the
same). 2) I had a call cut out for no reason with the other person
having to call me back, wondering what happened. Well, having investigated
this on the Internet, it seems others have had this happen as well.
3) Not convinced that the photo quality is up there with the N95
(others have said they too have images quality problems when putting
onto PC). 4) Finally, the Contacts name is RIDICULOUSLY too SMALL.
Even a normal name needs to be truncated, which doesn't make any
sense as there is space on the screen. Very disappointing. Therefore,
I'm taking this back to Vodafone and will be going for an N95. At
least it'll work as a Phone (very loud) and that's it's primary
purpose for me. Nice phone styling (can't stop playing with it nor

Have had my Tocco a week now having returned the LG secret I originally
had on upgrade. So after a week, what do I think of it.... Superb!!
This is probably the best phone I've ever had. The build quality
and feel are spot on, I'd say every bit as good as the Secret (with
the possible exception of the tempered glass). However its the user
interface thats blown me away. Its' so quick and easy to use, I'm
even texting faster now than with my K800! I felt the Secret was
sometimes tricky to use as the combination of slide/touch seemed
to conflict with each other in certain situations. Best of all imao
is web browsing. Aside from the iphone, this is the best mobile
I've seen for web browsing. Scrolling arund/zooming by just moving
your finger over the screen is superb. It makes surfing so simple.
Downsides, only real one I can think of is the lack of an accelerometer.
It's not a huge one, as flipping the screen is still pretty qick
with a touch of the scree. However it does seem a glaring ommision
considering the phones obvious iphone pretences. Maybe the video
too could be better, tho to be honest, I doubt I'd use it, even
if it was fantastic. Also maybe tempered glass would have been good
to make sure the fantastic screen stays scratch free. Overall though,
I'd recommend this phone to everyone. Overall much better than the
Secret imao. I'm only not giving it five stars due to the lack of
accelerometer (and I'm being picky)!!! Rating:

its not just a ...."take it out the box, point & shoot & get amazing

can have the widget displayed on the side of the screen or hidden,
its just up to you, it comes with a cool leather flip screen protector
that fits on the back like a battery cover & the leather flap covers

I have had this phone for 5 days now, and it deserves the positive
reviews it is getting. I have been a faithful SE fan and had been
looking forward to upgrading my K800i to the new C902. However,
I am partially sighted and the menus on the C902 are even smaller
than my K800i rendering it useless for me. So, on to the F480, the
phone is superb, very nicely made, call quality is very good and
ring tone and earpiece volumes more than adequate (PROVIDED) you
adjust them in the profiles. The menu system fonts are larger than
most current mobiles, and text messages and Internet fonts can be
zoomed to a very large size, ideal for people with visual disabilities,
well done Samsung! Text messaging, the process takes a little getting
used to, I found using my index finger rather than thumb made it
easier, and it is pretty easy to access ABC and T9 txt. Listening
to mp3s through the standard earphone is better than my partners
ITouch! Camera quality is very good, once again provided you adjust
everything to the maximum resolutions. The length of videos can
also be adjusted, as default; it is set for sending via MMS. Mobile
Internet speeds are also very fast indeed, plus the benefit of being
able to zoom in or out on the pages. The only problems experienced
so far are that I tried to install Operamini browser without success,
and also tried to download a game, which also froze. Samsung provide
two battery covers for the phone, one in the brushed metal finish,
and another leather "wallet". I fitted the latter and it is very
convenient, looks good and provides great protection for the phone
and screen, one again, great design. My only criticism, is battery
life, not what I am used to from Sony, but still seems to have lasted
about 3 days so far, with lots of fiddling and exploring. I suppose
with the size of the screen, shorter life is to be expected. As

Just got the phone, liking it so far. The only major problem im
having at the moment is trying to work out how to change the hold
screen pictures (when you click the hold button at the top it goes
through a nice selection of pictures about flowers and such). Is
there any way to change these pictures? Rating:

Never having seen a touch screen phone before i took the plunge
and bought one unseen. This phone has blown me away. It's just the
right size and weight, the screen is easy to see (even without your
specs) and the name is perfect as i can't leave it alone. (Tocco
being Italian for touch) The screen is easy to see outdoors too
and the ringtones are cool. It takes good photos and vidios too.
This may not be a high tec review, i'm not a high tec woman, i'm
just someone who feels lost without a phone and has fallen in love
with the Tocco. Perfect. Rating:

Just got the phone - seems pretty good so far. Only one flaw/question.
Default for texting is ABC. Is there any way to set the default
to T9 predictive. It's very annoying having to change it for every
text. Saying that, my old Samsung D500 had the same problem - very
annoying. Also, pics taken indoors with a lot of light coming into
the viewfinder, tend to turn a bit orange - any advice on stopping
that? Rating:

I have been a loyal Sony Ericsson user for the last few years and
loved their phones. However when it came time to upgrade this time
i didnt fancy the problematic K850i so i hunted around and eventually
decided on the tocco. I am so so glad i did. While i still dont
think Samsungs menu system is quite as intuitive as SE's, it doesnt
take away from what is a very very very good phone. The camera is
excellent for a phone, the touch screen is superb, the internet
is fast, call sound quality is very good even with the optional
screen protector that you get in the box. It comes to something
when the biggest thing i can find to moan about is that i can find
no way of having a contacts photo pop up when they txt you, although
you can when they call you. Its a very well built very good looking
phone that i would reccomend to anyone. Battery life isnt fantastic
but what can you expect when its got such a large touch screen?
I am getting 2 days use between charges (although i am still playing
with it alot). Rating:

A fantastic looking phone and really nice to use only for one problem
and its a bit of a major one, the sound quality is truly awful I
cannot hear what people are saying to me, this is not the first
samsung phone I have had with this problem. I really thought with
it being their latest phone it wouldn't suffer from this, they must
fit the cheapest earpieces that they can possibly buy. Its going
back today and im going to try another handset just incase it is
faulty and if the new one is just as bad its back to sony ericsson
for me there phones are of a far higher quality. It can have all
the features in the world but if I can't make phone calls whats
the point!??? Rating:

Amazing phone, and very easy to use. I got mine last week on Orange
and it has to rank as one of the best phones I've ever had. There
are so many great features, and neat touches. For those of us that
don't like, want or can't afford an iphone this is an excellent
alternative - I highly recommend this phone. Well done Samsung!

The F480 doesn't run on croix as the review suggestsm and also is
far better than the F490; which has problems playing vidoes and
the interface sucks!! Buy this, it is the best phone I have seen
in a long time. And, is 2.8 inches really that small? The 3.2 inch
screen just makes the F490 stretched, and this phone is far better
looking. Rating:

Got my Tocco yesterday. This was the fourth phone i've had in the
past three weeks!!!! This is the best phone out of all of them (had
to return the others due to faults - Nokia 95 ,terrible battery
life! Continually crashing!, Viewty, with its superdupa camera which
crashed whenever i tried to use it! HTC Touch Dual, very flimsy
body!! and could never get a signal) FINALLY a phone that lives
up to my expectations -Loving it! Love the innovative case/screen
cover, very clever. I love my phone!! Rating:

I got the samsung tocco yesterday, and it is truly one of the best
mobiles i have had (trust me i have had a lot). Some people may
be put of by the touch sensitve screen, and yes it does take a bit
of time getting used to it but it soon becomes really easy after
a while of playing around with it , the screen is also very responsive,
giving you that vibration feedback when you are using it. The widgets
are great the only bad thing about them is that they are sometimes
a bit too big on the 2.8" screen so you can only fit one or two
on it, but that is all that you really need. The music player is
excellent, playing most formats of music and it is easy to download
to the phone via the software that is provided and has bags of memory
to store them on. Another amazing feature is the camera, I had the
samsung g600 before this and the camera on that was useless looking
like more of a 2 that a 5 megapixle, however the tocco is like a
top of the range camera on the market today, the face detection
tool and the anti-shake comes in very handy too. The video is also
excelent quality aswel, just make sure that you change the settings
on it before-hand or you can only shoot for about 20s. Texting is
becoming more easy every time i am on the phone, you just have to
give it time for you to get used to it and then you will have no
problem. I just cant believe that the phone was only give 4 stars
on the review above, the 2.8" screen is just right making the phone
look sleek and feeling good. Rating:

Got my Tocco this morning and i'm well impressed phone looks great
and feels great. Sound quality when talking to someone and the volume
of the ringtones is superb much better than the Soul which i sent
back after 2 days. It fits well in the hand you have the choice
of 2 battery covers one which includes a wallet front which protects
the screen. Widgets are excellent touch screen very responsive you
can increase the vibration feel to 5 so it gives good feedback when
touched. Camera is fine and video quality could possibly be better
but thats my only gripe. Texting takes time to get used to but had
no problems and will soon get used to it. Overall I would recommend
this phone to anyone thinking of getting it dont be put off with
the touch screen this phone is class. Rating:

Camera is great, better than my D900 so im happy with it, havent
put on PC yet though. Has bluetooth, dont know whether u can voice
automate it though as it doesnt come with a hands free device (
i have one from old samsung i can use). the Scrolling on the phone
is easy to use just drag ur finger down to go down the list. The
widgets are good fun but just a novelty factor, not that overly
impressed by them! Looks very nice and the touch screen is very
responsive, Texting is easy with two thumbs or holding it using
one hand is just as quick! Basically i love this phone! Down side
is rubbish ringtones, so will be downloading some new ones from
PC shortly! Rating:

I got this today after my blackberry pearl finally gave up and died
after a year and a half's long hard service. I looked at other phones
in the O2 shop and I wanted a phone with 3g as I use the internet
alot on my phone while researching on the move and at home where
I use my laptop less and less and sit on the sofa browsing and reading.
I like the viewty but it was too bulky and the scroll wheel was
an idea made at the Samsung Xmas party. N95 - chunky monkey for
Surallen wannabees. Iphone too expensive, no 3g, decent camera,
Java etc. So I just started playing with the F480 in the 02 shop.
Wow - everything the Iphone should have been and more. Big screen
but pocketable, HSDPA, radio, 5M Camera, java and the internet is
iphone Safari like. Fantastic! Get one Rating:

I recieved this phone today and I am so happy with it. I have to
say I am a bit of a phone freak and also very fussy. When i first
saw it in the 02 shop it was not my first choice as I thought it
looked to much like an apple iphone wannabe. However the phone I
did want was out of stock and I'm the type of person who wants it
now so decided to go for the recommended samsung. I am quite a loyal
fan of nokia and I've been blown away by this phone. I even had
my acrylic nails removed to work it. It was worth it. The software
is fantastic and also you can drag applications over from a retractable
side menu bar and leave them on your screen if you wish. Just drag
and drop and you can drag your photo album out to browse through
amongst other things. I didn't find this out til I went on to a
website with a demonstrational video. As its an extra and it had
sneaked right past me whilst getting to know my phone. Writing a
text is so easy. Fair enough you have to get used to the touch screen
but that is just a problem worth facing. Now after an hour of playing
I'm used to it. However , girls long nails are a no no. I tried
to use it and it was not having any of it. The camera quality is
excellent. One of the best I have ever had. My boyfriend got the
nokia n95 today and i can see him secretly sulking wishing he had
this one. Excellent memory capacity and sounds great too. Also a
little thing it has nokia doesn't is when you have a text message
it says who it is from before you open it. You can assign tones
to people and Also your message alert can be a personal tone of
your own downloads. Brilliant sexy sleek phone. That lives up to
its looks. My best phone so far!! Rating:
