The
Panasonic GD67 is a "fun" phone, with some good stuff
at a budget price. It includes some great features such as a colour
display, polyphonic ringtones and customisable pictures in the back
cover. The
GD67 includes EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service), which enables you
to add pictures, animations and sound to your messages. However
the phone suffers from software bugs, poor ringtones and generally
poor audio. It is now hopelessly outdated.

I got this phone when it first came out, and i was not at all dissapointed.
It cost a lot less than all the Nokias out there, and was a lot
more stylish and personal. Once i'd found out how to set the ringtones
to a higher volume and download screensavers and ringtones, i started
to think it was a damn good phone! However, i came back from holiday
this year and my phone started to display a small red mail logo
saying my inbox was full, or my media folders were full. It was
a technical problem so i got it fixed for free, with free special
delivery. It worked for a while, but now the same has happened.
There are also some more problems i've come across: -The back cover
has small bits which break off at the slightest hint of prsssure.
Mine came off when i left the back cover off once by accident in
my pocket. -The small piece of plastic which holds the back cover
on does not match up with the phone. This may be a small problem
but it looks ugly. -The battery life had decreased severely when
i got the phone back from repairs -WAP sometimes fails to load up
even with a full signal. So, a word of warning, if you're going
to buy it then be prepaired to put up with some problems. It's a
good small, lightweight phone with some great features but is let
down by poor build quality. Rating:

Ok people, lets be logic about this. Now you may have read all the
reveiws about the phone having problems, and I did myself. Now what
seems to be happening is there are a few issues on faulty phones,
here are the main ones: Screen goes dim inbox full when empty phone
too quite rubbish games & ringtones paint comes off back cover comes
off/gets scratched Now I have studied the phone on the web and studied
my GD67 for a month and most of these problems above are either
opion, faults,or self incapability(a.k.a your not doing something
the way you should be).I have studied these problems and i hope
i can help you with your phone: Screen goes dim -This may be a simple
case of low power -Or it could be that you have been treating your
phone "abusively".Maybe you have shone light directly at the screen?
-If your phone is old, the screen may have worn out Try turning
your phone off, taking the battery and sim out for an hour then
putting them back in. Inbox full when empty -May i just comment
why some people don't wish to get their phones fixed? -I myself
don't save messages so bear with me, try doing what i call the "Rest"
method: turning your phone off, taking the battery and sim out for
an hour then putting them back in. Phone too quite -put the vibrate
on, and unless your in an thick eskimo suit you should be able to
feel it. -adjust the volume -this also depends on were you store
your phone, if its in the bottom of a bag, no wonder you won't here
it. Rubbish games and tones -this is a matter of opinion, knowledge
and capability: --OPINION: you may just dislike the games --KNOWLEDGE:
you may not know how to play the games --CAPABILITY: you may not
be able to play the games well, therefore causing frusration making
your brain think that the games are rubbish because you can't do
them. Paint comes off -this is a bit more serious, but obviously
I would be carefull with the phone and not spend time picking at
the paint to see if it does come off you critics! :-D Back cover
comes off/gets scratched -you may not be putting the cover on correctly,
make sure you push the I/O cover at the bottom over it properly
-as for getting scratched, be carefull! now that thats covered theres
one more thing: customization. yes, there aren't any really good
ringtones/downloads (in most people's opinion) out there, but remember
the vioce ringer, simply play a CD/Tape/MP3 up to the phone and
record it! OK it's only 16 seconds but hey! It seems that people
critising the phone are people with faulty ones, as for me, my phones
works fine! post if you need any info, because if there's someone
who'll know about the GD67 it'll be me (i don't mean to bragg but
i've studied the phone and your problems for a month) PS. This is
not a review, it is help/explanation/guide post and you will notice
i rate the phone 4 star for it's good points on it's good phones
and bad points on the fawlty phones. Rating:

the battery power was lasting about 3hours. I coped with this for
a while then the phone kept switching itself on and off on its own.
then to get the phone working right i had to disconnect the battery

they sent me another one (exactly the smae thing happened 3 more

Where do i start...Firstly i was obviously conned into buying this
phone in the first place but the retailer (most likely she was desperate
to get rid of them). A couple of weeks having the phone, ok i lie
a couple of days, the screen started to get dimmer and dimmer etc
until i needed a torch to see the thing, then i kept trying to get
ringtones for it, and as somebody else said, it saved them into
read only messages, so again more money, when it actually saved
the ringtones the ring volume was very quiet, and poor quality.
I was disappointed with the features. The general keys of the phone
were very fiddley, especially the stick. The only thing i liked
about it was the size, and a very addictive game. Ok i've gone on
enough, basically i got rid and swore never to buy another panasonic

I bought this phone when i thought my nokia had got to the stage
where it was out dated for both its size and looks. I looked at
many other phones before deciding to buy this one, on paper this
phone looks fantasic but in the real world I'm sorry to say it doens't
live up to its expectations. Alot of my complaints are shared by
many other users of this phone. 1. Slow when texting, it can't keep
up if you are even an average speed texter 2. To find out the time
you have to wait too long, it may only be like 5 seconds but you
want to be to just take a peek at it to find out the time not pull
it out your pocket and wait to tell the time. 3. Too fragile, the
paint comes off way too easily and when dropped case gets damaged
too easily. 4. Panasonic claimed that you could download extras
for this phone when there really isn't anything worth downloading,
no new games or decent backgrounds or even ring tones! I spent an
hour just looking for one ringtone and it was in the charts! 5.
Low amount of memory, if you have read any other reviews you will
see an emerging pattern where the phone says that the inbox is full
even when its completely empty, it can only store 10 texts also
when many other phones in the same price range can store at least
x3 the amount. 6. When you recieve a text message on the inbox menu
it doesn't tell you who the message is from this makes it difficult
if your trying to find a message you recieved previously and want
to recall it. The only way you can find out who the message is from
is to scroll through the whole message to the bottom, this can become
quite annoying when your looking for one message from somebody.
7. Even though at the time this phone was released it was the cheapest
colour display phone it wasn't worth it, it only has 256 colours,
this is of course much better than a plain singular colour display
phone. There are a list of other what I'd call problems with this
phone but my overall impression and opinion of this phone is, don't
waste your time or money on it. Find another phone company, I went
out and bought another nokia. Rating:

Hmmm, nice at first but then you realise: The polytones sound terrible
and there's basically nowhere to get new ones. They are only 3-track
and not 16-track as advertised. The WAP access time has to be measured
with a sundial. The messaging service is quite good, I will admit,
but you don't know who the text is from until you've read it. I
know that on Nokia's (I've never owned one but know people who do)
that you can see the name of the sender if he/she is in your phonebook
before you read the message. The games are pretty poor, the second
one I don't even understand! The phone does look okay, and is quite
cheap, but there's not too much going for it to be fair. Mine's
got a faulty memory and I'm not having it fixed, I'm getting a whole

I was thrilled to bits to begin with, but then the problems started:
1) About 3 months after getting it, the onboard memory packed up,
can't save anything onto the phone at all, says inbox full when
empty, but can still get SMS. I'm NOT getting it fixed. 2) Hardly
any polytones available, poor sound quality. 3) Battery runs down
in no time at all. 3) Screen quality poor. Instruction book pants!
4) This is a phone for girls and gay men (I'm neither!!), Panasonic
sold it to me on the pretence that it could do things that it, in
reality, can't. Their ringtone previews on their site for the GD67
sound nothing like those on the phone, and the best one on the phone
(type 10 Pachelbel's Canon) slows and stops in the middle and starts
up again. I feel so ripped off and am glad this lump of s**t has

that every time you send a message it gives you the option to change
the number you have already chosen so several clicks later and the

issue of the red mail icon coming up in the left hand corner indicating
that memory is full when in fact it isn't. I contacted Panasonic
and they say I'll have to send it in for repair. They didn't say
why though :-( But I just read in a forum online that it apparently
is a firmware bug ... Well, txt is still working, ie I can receive

I had a nokia 5110 before this phone, which is absolutely ancient,
but I really regret getting rid of it now! The GD67 has been nothing
but trouble...it refuses to store sent messages for some reason,
and also wont let me receive any messages. The plastic flap bit
at the bottom is fiddly and keeps breaking off and it is very slow
when texting. The only thing that saves this phone is that the colours
are pretty funky, and it looks quite cute. If you're looking for
practicality rather than style, or if you're simply looking for
a phone that will actually WORK, then I suggest you choose a different
phone. The GD67 is simply too unreliable. Rating:

Firstly, all the people saying the phone doesn't tell you who your
text messages are from are lying! Course it does! If you read the
msg and get to the bottom of it, its right there surprisingly! And
also it DOES tell you how long your call has lasted, as soon as
you end the call it comes up on the screen. So theres either a few
people with the wrong setting or your phone is broken. I think this
phone is great, I didn't want it for games and stuff, I have a computer
for that cr##. I wanted it for calls and text messages and it performs
brilliantly for both. Rating:

God! I hate this phone. My boyfriend laughs at me, my Dad constantly
keeps asking me when I am going to sell it, and I dread the bloody
thing ringing in public. Suitable for a seven year old, the colours
and pictures on this phone are really basic, although the abilty
to change contrast etc does make them a tad easier on the eye......
still avoid the parrot screen saver at all costs. If you own this
phone you will know what I mean! Boasting very limited tools, there
are none of the options that you would expect to find on any phone
no matter how prehistoric - simple demands such as adding someones
phone number sent by text or deleting more than one text at once
simply arent met. Granted these features arent necessary, but as
a time saving device, the phone really fails to hit the mark. The
jostick which I once thought of as a quirky features varies from
being ridicuously over sensitive, to slow and sluggish, and in general
this is the over view of the phone as a whole. I really do believe
that Panasonic could have done a great deal more with this phone
- ringtones/games/user info (you cant even see what time you sent
a text at or how long your last call was!) etc, and I for one cannot
wait to wave goodbye to this phone safely into the hands of my eight
year old niece..... better remove the picture out of the back first
though!!!!! x Rating:

dropped my Siemens in the bath a few weeks back! :( I am impressed
with some of this phone, but it could be a lot better. Considering
I paid more for this phone than my Siemens I expected it to be better
- but it just doesnt compare. The colour screen is FAB and the joystick
is WKD, but there isnt much to do on the phone. WAP is very slow
and I cant seem to get onto any sites yet. The buttons being small
make txting tricky and the T9 function isnt the best ever. I must
say I do like the style and the voice ringtone - lots of fun. The
games are poo tho and havent found any to download yet, also not
many ringtones for it. Putting your own pix on the back is a great

make up your own tone or record a song you like, or make it vibrate.

is so much easier than buttons. lots of features packed in like
the fact that you can record your own ringtone, though that feature
only gives 10 seconds of memory. i hold mine infront of a hi-fi
speaker and play intro's from cd's to get unique ringtones. i agree
with some other reviewers comments about getting downloadable ringtones
but would reply " go to the O2 website " as there are hundreds for
