Another Nokia Nseries smartphone! And this one is the most technically advanced ever! Can it really live up to the hype, or will it prove to be as unreliable and bug-ridden as some of Nokia's other Nseries phones?

The headline features of the eagerly-awaited Nokia N95 are mouth-wateringly amazing:

• Ultra-fast HSDPA data transfer

Let's start with the basics. The Nokia N95 is a 3G smartphone built on the Series 60 Symbian interface (version 3.1). Let's be clear from the start that these types of phone are slow, have a tendency to freeze or shut down, and have unstable firmware. They are also large and heavy. At 120g the N95 is of average weight for a smartphone, but is pretty bulky, despite its slide design. At least you won't forget which pocket it's in! When closed, you can access menu functions using the 5-way navigation key and the associated control keys. The N95 also has several other dedicated media keys that can be used as shortcuts to media functions. This is a good feature if you like to have lots of buttons to push, but sometimes they just end up getting in the way. When you slide the phone open you have access to a full keypad, but like the Nokia N73, the buttons are too small to be really comfortable. The user interface will be familiar to anyone who has used a Series 60 phone before: it's not as simple to use as the Nokias of olden days, but you wouldn't expect such a high powered device to be, would you? So, without getting into the functionality of the phone yet, we'd give it 2 stars for usability.

Now, the kind of person likely to buy this phone isn't going to be put off by wimpy considerations like size and ergonomics. Perhaps not even by warnings of bugs and a sluggish user interface. It's what the phone does that matters most. And this is where the N95 really delivers! The first multimedia feature that you encounter is the screen, and it's a massive one: 2.6 inches across, 240 x 320 pixels, and an incredible 16 million colours. An ambient light detector is used to control the brightness of the screen, making it usable under most lighting conditions. It's one of the best screens ever, and does full justice to the camera and navigation systems.

The camera is a first in the UK: the first phone camera to hit the 5 megapixel mark. At this number of pixels, you can (theoretically) match anything that a dedicated digital camera is capable of - provided that you have the optics to back up the megapixel grunt. Nokia have been developing their camera capabilities quite impressively recently using Carl-Zeiss optics and Tessar lenses - the Nokia N93 being the best camera phone before the release of the N95. The N95 lacks the optical zoom of the N93, but retains the autofocus, flash and lens. Does the 5 megapixel sensor make up for the lack of an optical zoom? The answer is no, so in our opinion the N93 is still king of the camera phones, but for practical purposes the N95 is a better option. It can certainly match or beat the Sony Ericsson K800i. The video camera is also outstanding, recording in VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) at up to 30 frames per second with stereo audio. There's a second front-facing camera for making video calls too.

The other most interesting feature of the N95 is the built-in GPS navigation system. The N95 actually has a GPS system built into the phone, that communicates directly with the satellite. This enables you to use the phone to track your position either on foot or in-car. You'll need to buy a license to use the Nokia mapping system though. Now, whilst this is a nice feature to have in a phone, we've got to say that it doesn't match the quality of a dedicated satnav system like the TomTom One. The sensitivity and reliability of the GPS receiver is not as good, and neither is the user-friendliness of the system.

These are the most groundbreaking features, but the N95 has almost everything else you could think of including in a phone too: a music player with support for all common music formats, a stereo FM radio, integrated handsfree speaker, speaker independent voice dialling, talking ringtones, HSDPA (the fast data transfer technology dubbed "3.5G") and lots more! When it comes to connectivity, the N95 is the best-connected device in town, with support for Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, Infrared, Wireless LAN, TV-Out and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Its memory is also more than adequate with up to 160 Mbytes of onboard memory and support for microSD memory cards (up to 8 Gbytes). Battery life is OK - when you consider how much work has to be done to power this beast, you can't really set your expectations too high.

In conclusion, The Nokia N95 is bound to be a smash hit, but equally there are bound to be unsatisfied users returning their N95 to the shop. Early adopters will love the wealth of features that this phone offers (literally the best you can get at the time of launch), but the N95 does suffer from practical disadvantages, and you'll need to decide whether the benefits outweigh the problems.

now on my 2nd n95 after first one crashed 3 times in the first day and microphone stopped working. the same thing has now happened to my 2nd one. the guy in the shop told me its due to the n95 running off software that is more like a computer os - unnaceptable!!

Ive had this phone for over two weeks now, and apart from the odd little crash once in a blue moon everything is fine, I dont have a problem with the battery life, I just make sure that applications are closed properly so they are not running in the background sapping the battery, ok so there may be a few glitches with it but what more do you want out of such a little device but with so much packed in to it...WELL DONE NOKIA

First thing you must do with this phone is update the software to the latest version. If the phone is branded use the nss hack to change the product code to euro1 0536062 and update using the nokia firmware updator - this also puts back any features certain operators in the UK have chosen to remove (but note this does not remove any simlock) The phone is then supurb. Battery life is not the best for a phone but is better than the pda it replaces. All the features work well.

Was great at first my brother Will got the LG PRADA which i initially mocked him for, after all the N95 is far superior in terms of features i gave the phone a fair chance 13 days (took it back on the 14th) however, it kept crashing and i found the satnav was appauling!!!! (required a £50 upgrade)so have now eaten humble pie and got the PRADA instead to my surprise it was easier to text off the mp3 player is better and i've picked up a TOM TOM off ebay for £60 (Less Than I Had To Pay On Orange For The Handset £69.99) now i have the best of both worlds, a great phone and a great Sat Nav.

The unit is good but only the problem is battery, which does not support for long hours, it has to be re-charged everyday.

I had this phone for a week now. The first thing I did was to update it and I havent even got a single crash like lotta other ppl say. Alltogther this phone is not as bad as it has been reviewed by few. This phone has a making for THE Future phone as it got everything you need. Its a light phone, wifi works great, sound quality is the best I ever heard on any phone. My mate got N95 on orange and his phone works slow and sometimes its very slow but i got a unlock phone and its fast tho i already got like 15 external softwares like Worldmate, ACM, MP3 player.. so I really think these network (orange, T mobile. etc.) software also has a effect on the phone to make it slow and it also has a problem when you update the software. The easy way to save battery is to reduce the brightness of your screen when u not using it. Got 2 GB memory already so now no worry about the space in the phone but try to keep the phone memory free as much as possible and use memory card storage. This phone has a less battery life and the pictures of the camera are worse than SE W810i which i think will improve in the next update. This phone is not touch screen but i still think its better than SE p990i. Battery is the problem for most of the phones that r around so the only bad point I see in this phone is camera. To be perfectly honest, I would recommend this phone to everyone. Chandan Bisht

N95 on paper is superb. It has everything, WiFi, GPS, 5mpix Camera. However, I am on my 3rd handset now. After calls it crashes then resets but the microphone does not seem to work, callers cannot hear me. After a power off and on the problem disappears. This seems to be totally random and such a shame for an otherwise brilliant product. But the bottom line is that it is a phone and I can't rely on it to work as such so it goes tomorrow :(

I thought I was going mad, I tried the Nokia N95, and yes I could hear a high pitch noise when making a call, and the call quality to me is the most inmportant.Nokia seem to have very poor standards in the points that matter the most. Sticking to Sony Ericsson (quality)

nice phone had 3 weeks. 1st nice phone ive had always had hand me downs (have a semi pro digy /also also sat nav in car) used camera NOT bad video excellent sat nav not bad mp3 excellent put a film on also very good still learning phone but have had a couple on freezes and switch offs but over all im impressed played through tv 10/10 for that it makes phone calls also and tex also would recommend compared with whats on the market BUT an expensive gadget overall a very good phone

Had the N95 for a month now. It is brilliant. Everything works as it should, GPS,WLAN, Video-Calls, Music, Camera, internet, etc. Never had such an amazing phone. Was a bit worried at first due to such a lot being crammed into the phone, but everything does really work, and well. All you sceptics have no fear, it has not let me down.

dissapointing to say the least. was really excited about this handset initialy, with all its features. Turns out its too clever for its own good. contantly crashes and then restarts? worst thing is the battery, I have to charge the thing twice a day!!! and the other main issue is the high pitched tone coming from the phone when held up to to your ear, it sounds like a tv on standby!!!! takin it back today. goin back to sony ericsson w850i or mayby the samsung d900

Had a try on this phone last week-end. I was looking mainly for a MP3 player, GPS and Phone. N95 seem to me the natural choice with added feactures. After using SonyEricsson for the last 6 years, the quality of the Nokia is desapointing. GPS is very week. I return the equipment and got the SE 880i plus a Garmin GPS and I'm better served

ive got a N95 every is good but froze on me twise in a week whilst on a call, and my gprs hasnent been working for about a week now, but doesnt bother me as i dont use the sat nav, but evrything else is great on the phone internet is very fast (broadband) hopefully nokia will bring out some software updates to correct any current problems. also carry a charger with you because battery is the worst ive ever seen, i have to charge it 3x a day.

Bought this phone a fortnight ago and within a week it had frozen and the speaker didnt work (i could hear you, you could not hear me), so sent it back and had it replaced with another from vodafone. Two days ago the same thing happened but I took the battery out and then reassembled it and its fine. As long as this does not keep happening then I am totally chuffed with an excellent piece of kit. The camera rocks and I love the music player. A quality device with a few bugs which will iron out - hopefully!

This phone is good, but has alot of faluts, battery life is very poor, speaker is not that good, very very slow. Keeps crashing, never finds GPS, when you speak on the phone sometimes the other person can't here you.

Awful Phone. Build Quality Appauling, menus are too slow. The earpice sound quality was poor and the slide function started to show signs of wear after just 3 days. needless to say it went back to O2 the same week it was delivered. Only thing i can say that is good about it is that it looks nice.

this fone is wonderful considering all the features! 3.5g!!! the response time is great and you can save alot of battery life if you dont need 3.5 or 3g, you couldn;t do that on other fones!!! the numberboard is fantastic and the menus are easy 2 use!!! The best thing about it that it dosent crash, this fone is a winner!!! i can download a 2.3mb music track in just 4.5 secs . the camera is top quality , exactly like dvd!!!!!! the size is fine but at 120g , i could'nt beleive it!! i would just like to say, that nokia have done the best job ever!!!

I work for Orange and no that when ever i get a call on our faults line 2/3 of the calls are about faulty N-series handset i hate this phone and hate having to diagnose another N95 as faulty. I no what phones to go for and thats sony-ericson as i would personally say they are the market leader it is certainly not Nokia they use to be a amazing phone maker now i would be surprised if a phone of theres last longer than 6 months. They need to sort themselves out. DO NOT BUY NOKIA unless you like ringing up your phone operator to find out its faulty or worse Nokia direct on there 09 cust services line...

Just sold my N73 to help towards cost of the N95. Used for around a week now & well happy with it. I like the quality of actual handset, has a nice feel to it. Functions & menu easy to navigate through. Camera is superb & have now swapped my music onto the phone & sound quality is very good too.Since the year i have been on Nokia's & before that was with SE's for the last 2 years as i like the music players on them, i'm hoping the N95 will not let me down & 1st impressions are good. I'm expecting some minor cliches as there is so much on the phone , but nothing major as yet.Loads of functions fitted into a real nice size handset & a super large screen.

this is in response to sam, i think u r just one unluky man, because all the odd things that could happen to any phone just happened to yours. both the n95 and the n80 are outstanding phones, there are hardly any faults with them(only fault with n80 was the wifi, which was then fixed by a software update!)

I've only had my Nokia N95 for a few days, but I LOVE it! It's THE BEST mobile i've ever had. I love all the features. I do think it can be a bit slow when accessing the internet, but I think it's great to be able to access "propper" websites rather than just WAP sites. I cam keep up with all my favorite sites while I'm out and about. Not sure about the GPRS mapping. A good idea if you're in a strange place & want to find your way without buying an A-2-Z. An A-2-Z Might be cheaper though!

Another Nokia "triumph". The company talks a good phone but can't deliver. I've been impressed with Sony Ericsson over the years as the phones I've owned have done what's expected of them. The Nokias I've owned have all been so buggy they can't be relied upon. Admittedly it's got everything, soup to nuts, but if it doesn't work, it's no better than an expensive paperweight! I'm going elsewhere, thanks!

I work for T-Mobile company and know what to expect from the new phones on the market. This handset is amazing and anyone that says otherwise have their expectations too high!!! it does everything you want.. it might crash now and again but what do u want? you cant have the whole media world crammed into such a small device and expect it work 100% all of the time!! keep the faith, Nokia's got it spot on this time!!

Why on earth I decided to give the n95 a go after haveing the n80 was beyond me. But, I got it and had it a week and it went right back. Really nice ideas behind the phone, just the finished product feels like a friday afternoon jobby. Being picky, the screen had serveral dead pixels, slide didnt feel to strong, but most of all, what is with the firmware / software? Lost track of how many times the phone failed / crashed. Even failed to make calls or recive calls. Software downloaded wont disply properly due to the screen res etc. Far too many errors and to me, I think the N95 is going to go the same way the N80 went....

i have had two nokia n95 supplied and bothsent back. Many new handsets have had problems. Mine supplied by o2. My phones would both intermitently cut out the microphone not allowing callers to hear what i am saying. They also switched themselves off and software glitches were frequent. However i undrdstand that the firmware will be readily available for update and at present with the trend of poor products form all major phone companies this phone a[[ears tp be best of the bunch.

Upgraded from N93 to N95 and a freind told me he sent his back as sometimes when receiving a call the caller could not hear him unless he selected loudspeaker. Lo amd behold two days later I have the same problem have to restore factory settings to make it work again gets a bit annoying now third time in three weeks. Hope it stops as I love the phone otherwise.

i was waiting two months for the n95 to be released, finally when it did i went out and bought the phone online, but was disapointed with the size of the phone itself. i had the n95 for a month and had to return it because it kept on freezing and i had to take the battery out and reboot the phone, this happened about 5 or 6 times, i got fed up. I bought the phone because it had the maps build in, but i found i had to down load the maps myself which put me off a bit because when i spent this kind of money i except it to be really to go! The n95's battery runs out pretty quickley and i was impressed, i know it has a large screen, but i did use it that much. its not all bad though, the cameras really good and the wireless connection it brill!!! I've got the e65 now which has'nt got the same features, but it alot more compare and prettier.

Marvellous! This phone is a farc cry from the fake imitations of MP3 players, Cameras and all fancy features. With this phone, you get what it says it has. I am very pleased to be one of the people who has it. I'm afraid i couldnt do it any justice if I started going on about the benefits because there's so many. The only slightly bad thing is the battery but like someone said, charge it up once every 2 days and you are sorted! Want an Excellent phone and Device? Get the Nokia N95!

ive always loved nokia,in the last few years i have had a 6600 which i loved at the time,then went to 6630,6680,n70..then changed to a terrible motorola razr,it sounded like a tin,then tried the sony ericsson k750i,great phone but the joystick went after 3 months. been waiting for the n95 for 8 months,for me personally,it was worth the wait. it has everything i need and more.i got it 2 weeks ago on orange,up to now no problems at all. i find it to be fast at start up,the ringtones are very loud,the slide feels sturdy,every picture i have taken has looked great on my computer,the video is very impressive,i connected it to my tv the other day to test it,its full screen on the tv,i played snake and it worked perfect,as did the videos. the themes you get are cool,i found a site where i can make my own.i didnt get a memory card with mine so i cant comment too much on the memory,i also find the battery ok,i fully charged it when i got it then let it drain,charged it again,now its lasting me 2-3 days before i need to charge,thats with me texting,calling,playing games. the screen is very bright and clear.the quality of the video playback in fullscreen is great. mine also didnt come with a case of any kind so i bought a clear plastic hard case for it,i dont even notice its on now and it keeps my phone scratch free. so..in my oppinion... i will keep this phone til it dies,then go out and get another one. when it comes to phones im hard to please,i have tried so many to find THE one,and i found it.

This phone should be amazing. The camera is good, similar quality to the Sony K800i. The GPS is very slow and frustating to load, taking two hours to download the UK maps. Once loaded, the GPS works well. The music player is OK but not up to Sony Walkman sound quality. The radio suffers from poor reception, maybe its just mine as nobody else has complained about radio reception quality. Battery life is poor but simply charge it every night and problem solved. I'm sure the battery manufacturers will solve this soon. As I said, this phone should be amazing and maybe once the firmware is updated and and a more powerful battery is available, it will be.

This phone COULD be awesome, IF everything worked properly. The camera is amazing, nothing can compare to the N95. The sat nav is very frustrating, can take up to 30 mins to get a signal, and to pay £40 for a years subscription is naughty. I'm on my 3rd one now, in only 2 weeks. Right hand media button keeps on tripping out, and have been told thats a common fault. 2-way slide is annoying if in your pocket as it always slips open. Battery life also a big issue, as is the bulkiness of it. Other than that, pretty good.

I have to say its very impressive. the size feels good not to heavy and not to light, just right. the slider feels good and solid and should'nt open by itself in your pocke/bag. It has all the usual features a modern phone should have plus GPS and a great 5mp camera. Overall best Nokia

Having been due an upgrade for quite sometime now, and not liking any phone thats out there, i decided to wait, and go for the n95. Now this was a big change for me as i had been use SE for the last 4-5years . but found their phones pretty boring of late. There are a few reasons i went for the N95. 1. camera. its amazing, forget even puttin in same class as k800i. thats like trying to compare lexus with ford. the zoom, may not be the best, but evertying else is, video is crystal clear. 2. music player. this is also very good, maybe not as easy to use as SE walkman phones, but once u get used to it, its very easy to find your way around. 3. Looks. the phone slides both ways! can be annoying in your pocket, as it sometimes opens, but i can live with that, u look a flash git when using this phones, and does get people looking :) Down sides, are battery life, this seems to be pretty poor, but hoping it will get better, keys are a little on the small side, but i still find it easy enough to use them, and im a big guy. overall it has to be 4 stars

hello i have had the nokia N95 for two weeks now. what can i say about this phone what a great phone it does everything you could want from a multimedia device only problem is battery life you have to charge the phone every day if you use all the features. come on nokia bring out an update so i can convert my dvd`s to play on my nokia N95

Neither myself of friend who is an I.T. manager could get the maps downloaded onto the phone and as this is one of the main reasons I bought it I am now unfortunately going to return the Nokie N95 back to the shop.

Had this phone a week and so far it has been very good. I have read lots of reports of people having troubles, but this has not happened to me. GPS works ok, but the real winner for me is the camera. I own both the K800i and an N93 and in my opinion the N95 is better than both of them. Good phone, lots to play with, good looks. Well done Nokia

It's certainly not a 'pick up & go' phone as the menu options take a little getting used to if you're new to them (I had the 6230i before this one) & to use features such as the camera you really do need to refer to the manual to make sure you use the best settings for your picture. Once you're used to it all though it becomes second nature. The active standby mode is handy as it bypasses going through all the menus to do something simple, like send a text message, & I like that you can turn it off too so that you just have your wallpaper displayed, with the power, signal bars & optional time & date put up at the top of the screen above the wallpaper image. I haven't managed to turn of my network's name though but it's up at the top of the screen instead of being across the middle which is much better as, again, it doesn't cover up the wallpaper. Also, the active standby mode has features that are assigned as 'compulsory' by your network provider (or that's what the manual says anyway) & I've not had the time to speak to them to see if it can be turned off yet. Other good features are the shortcut button to open the gallery & that the camera starts up just by opening the shutter, as again this cuts out trawling through the menu. The fact that the camera has a shutter over it too is also a fab idea as it prevents the lens getting scratched when it's in your pocket/bag with your keys. The 2nd camera on the front of the phone is also handy for taking pictures of yourself but the quality seems pretty poor after getting used to the quality you get from the main camera. The idea of having the music player buttons under the other slidey part (can you tell I am not technically minded? ! ) is a good idea too, but this has proven to be a little awkward to use with just one hand, so you'd struggle to fiddle with it whilst carrying your shopping home. Nokia, however, have got around that one by having the remote for the headset which you can clip onto your clothes so that all you have to do is prod the right button (which are also a decent size). I have also found that the battery life was pretty poor to begin with but after you've run it down & charged it again a couple of times it definitely gets better. I was initially concerned that the fact that it's a slide phone could mean that it was a bit flimsy &, from experience with other slide phones, it might wear down the keys over time. These concerns have been laid to rest though as it is robust enough to support itself when slid either way, & there is plenty of clearance so it doesn't touch the keys at all. The back cover is a bit awkward to get off because when you push it, the phone panel wants to slide open (I don't mean the panel you're trying to get off, but the only other word I can think of is 'fascia' but I know that's wrong too! ). I've found that the best technique for this is to hold it in one hand with your fingers wrapped around holding the sides firmly, & your index finger across the bottom to stop it from moving, push the panel with the thumb of the same hand, & use the nail of the thumb of your free hand to push the silver 'release' button down whilst pushing it off. Overall I'd say that, yes it take a bit of getting used to, but it's well worth it as once you're over that initial phase it is very good at what it's designed for &, lets face it, it's built for pretty much everything!

I don't own this phone however i've been on the phone recently to various sales people and was deciding whether to get the LG prada or the N95 all the people i've spoken to told me to get the prada (which costs less) phones4u orange carphone warehouse etc. I'm not going to deny they are poles appart on features however the battery life on the N95 is extremely poor, 24hrs standby and i was told on the phone by a kind person from orange that if you had the bluetooth turned on and in operation you can literally see the battery life going down!!! Furtheremore to get the correct out of town maps you have to spend a further 45 quid!!!! However as sat nav is usually plugged into your car cigarette lighter anyway the battery life isn't an issue until you use the phone for any other applications. I appreciate people get mad when people discuss phones they don't own however i thought if you are deciding whether to get the phone or not i thought my experience with the sellers would be helpful. Basically if you want a phone with features its loaded theres no phone like it but the HOPELESS (i cant stress it enough) battery life is not good. If you dont mind plugging your fone in its great for you otherwise its hopeless. The extra 45 quid for the right sat nav maps is also an issue. I originally upgraded my old samsung E900 for a SE P990i. Then a day later the N95 was released (I wasn't up on the phones du to be released!). Needless to say I sent the P990 back and opted for the N95. I had a Nokia 7650 when they were first released and I think that was that last time Nokia released such a benchmark of a phone. There have been some hyped up releases between then and now but this phone is the first to match the number of new innovations in one hit. I've had no system crashes or lock ups yet but it is early days. The GPS is a bet slow to locate but it is useable as are the maps. The WiFi is great, I use it mainly to download emails when passing a Wifi hotspot. I'm not a 3G customer so I can't comment on the video calling or HSDPA but I don't need these as I use the WiFi or connect to my laptop to tranfer anythign of great size. That camera is really good, good enough for a phone anyway which really isn't it's primary function. So far so good...

Had the phone 1 week now and am generally very pleased, certainly better than the K800i. Camera is brilliant and connectivity is really good. No problems with the software and is muck quicker than the n70.

As a die hard Sony Ericsson fan Nokia I had not planned to change my manufacturer but as my wonderful W900i began to fade I decided to upgrade. Initially I tried the 950i but due to software problems the N95 managed to get a look in So how does it rate? Looks: Maximum points. That huge shiny screen gets you drooling straight away, the phone seems to murmur touch me I'm yours, & the slide feature is firm clicking into place in a very satisfactory manner. It oozes class What does it do? Well, in a word everything! Camera and video are superb, there’s a life blog handy for organising all your media by date. The music mode is good but needs a little tweaking to match current music dedicated mobiles available. Not in the same class as an mp3 player but for an all in one good enough. Most irritations are minor apart from one huge glaring one. Supplied earphones are rubbish and the wired remote feels cheap and tacky. The sat nav takes an age to download and an expensive option as you have to be connected to the net to get full directions. Better for use when lost on foot; Don’t throw out the Tom Tom just yet or you will be scrabbling in the bushes to find it. It has a jack so you can attach proper headphones yay! But irritatingly it’s on the side of the unit preventing you slipping it easily into your pocket. The call log does not show which number a person has used to call you. Very annoying when managing calls from people with more than one number and you cannot charge the phone via the computer. The keys are a little small and set too low to make texting easy, and the internet key is maddeningly accessible every time I touch the phone it seems I end up on line, fortunately the keys can be reprogrammed But the real deal breaker as far as I’m concerned is the battery. Truly appalling! My usage is generally pretty light but even using the device just as a phone leaves the battery struggling to make it through the day. The charger is permanently in my handbag, which I suspect they knew may be the case as they have made it handily small and light. This means real problems using it as your main device, but somehow you just can’t help loving it.

I upgraded to the N95 a week ago from the 6280 and to be honest i am desperatly trying to like this phone, but i just cant! faults include slow operating system and then crashing (by the way- you can forget about copying ALL your favourite songs to the 1 gig memory card- anything over 500Mb and the phone just does not work). As far as the GPS is concerned- unless you are easily please, you will need to either shell out £49 for the full version (annual subscription fee) or wait for your network provider to catch up and offer it as part of your gprs package (I am told O2 are aldready considering this). To be perfectly honest, I would recommend that if you are not interested in GPS and you own a digital camera, then definetly go for the 6280.

Ok so as you all know (previous nokia symbian users) Your bound to find bugs and yeah im already on my 3rd N95 since the lanuch. 1st one kept restarting during gps and web access, the 2nd kept crashing and was freezing during certain apps.......argh! My 3rd one arrived yeaterday and fingers crossed it works like a dream...whoo hoo:-) The phone itself is superb and I can honeslty say i am not dissapointed at all. It seems quicker to use than the N70 or N73 but thats just my opinion. So far I think this phone is the muts nuts and Firmly believe if you get a working one with no bugs.....hold on to it as you will not be dissapointed.

This is quite a good phone. The best faeture in this i would say is the Camera. Apart from that, the Sat Nav, etc aren't very good. For size, it is OK, but too thick.

Just bought it yesterday. It's too early to comment on it now but as of now, am truly excited with it's 5megapixels camera and it's visual radio which is extremely user friendly and manually tuning it...my daughter of 9yrs could do it! The look is great, sophisticated and yet, not as bulky as i expected. I love the screen size and it's amazing features, especially the barcode cracker is fun to use. It's a good phone for those who hate carrying an mp3 player, a good camera and a cellphone but can't do without them..all in one!I'm too thrilled to comment on it further..let's see in a month's time..

I hate Nokias as a rule, but oh my god this phone is amazing, forget the fact its a N series so will crash and need loads of software updates, the camera is mint as is the sat nav, cant believe ive been won over by a Nokia !

I got my N95 early last week and wasn't sure about it at first. But after using it for over a week now, I love it! The screens great, sound quality is amazing and the map feature is brilliant, but beware, you do have to pay for the voice navigation. The phones main camera is an impressive 5 megapixel and uses a Carl Zeiss lens. I have only used it a few times but the photos seem really good quality. There's also a camera on the front of the phone for video calls. The video recording capabilities of the phone is the best I've seen on a mobile and quality is amazing, sound quality is also nice and clear. My phone shipped with a 1gb mini sd card from o2 but apparently not all networks include a memory card bundled with the phone. The one problem with this phone, and it is a BIG problem, is it's battery life. If you take the phone off charge in the morning and are using the applications on the phone moderately during the day, it's unlikely the phone will still be alive at bedtime . This phone is definitely the best on the market, and if it wasn't for the terrible battery life, I would have given this phone 5 stars.

Have just got one of these beauties meself. On 1st impression it seems quite lightweight but once you get inside you see how many features it has going on. The camera is superb and the music player gives excellent quality and volume. The only thing i would change is the slider which feels a bit plasticy compared to the rest of the phone but that's just nitpicking. An excellent phone that will please gadgeters everywhere.

Overall very impressed with build quality and its features leave very little to be added to. That said the sat nav is very much a 'cut down' version lacking features of other systems and sometimes either spends a long time or simply gives up on calculating routes. I also experienced a loss of the navigation license soon after parting with £70+ for it leaving me with no navigation facility. It is only when you experience this kind of issue you discover just how difficult Nokia are to communicate with (2 emails thus far and no response).All in all though I have to say I love the phone!!

dont know where to start with this! i am now on my 3rd Nokia N95 from the 02 Network, i have an Online Tariff, the first 2 handsets i had were faulty, wobbly sliders, also had a high pitch whining sound coming from the earpiece, very poor workmanship indeed! so i thought "oh well" 3rd time lucky, so far things have been ok with this one until this morning on the way to Gatwick airport when the phone just restarted without me touching it!! battery life is appauling.. i have 3 spare batteries, so this dont bother me that much. the sat nav is pretty good, but dont sell your Tom Tom! no way as good! the digital camera is quite good, video recording is also good... overall, its not bad, packed with features, but like all Nokias plagued with problems until new firmware sorts it out, im deciding on whether to send this one back and get another or just give up! the restarting thing has annoyed me, come on Nokia sort it out!

this phone is really top notch had it for 2 weeks now, froze maybee twice but with the size off gps and internet apps this is not supprising, also this phone is not for techno phobes as a it can be complicated setting up ur wifi if ur wifi is encripted, a good tip for all nokia n series phones that helps keep battery life is hold down the menu button so u can see a list off active apps , the more active apps the more power so keep tabs on what u have running in backgrownd, gps is fab used it to cross scotland no probs once satalite locked on (takes about 5-8 mins) camera is ok so is video, best phone i have had, auto lock function and slider feels nice, not as big as review makes out smaller than nokia n 70, all in all a phone for people who know how to use it, most negative reviews will be from people who are not using it right!!!!keep the faith! reason its not 5 stars is battery!!!!

I have had this phone for about a week now and have to say it's very good. I am an engineer and by nature technically "pull thinks to bits" and its stood up well with very few system bugs that I can see. The only bugs that I have seen so far are software and will likely be ironed out by firmware updates once the model matures. All the features are as stated and operate outstandingly with little delay or problem. Usebaility is very good and you don't have to be university professor to operate the phone. The one thing that I would mention is that if you use the GPS function and want turn by turn directions then this will cost an additional one off fee(per year); all other GPS is free. Final words of wisdom- There may be some adverse reviews of this phone, but any prospective purchasers should remember this is a smart phone with a host of features that most other phones do not have so there will be a price to pay in terms of size, weight battery life and in the end cost. But you nothing for nothing these days.

On the face of it a nice sleek looking phone. I have always used Nokia. The plus sides, excellent vid/stills, better than my previous N70 and obvioulsy it looks good with its big clear screen. HOWEVER, The N95 after you have had it a few days loses its appeal and you start to notice things like, internal errors, 'not enough general memory' is a favourite - even though my memeory was hardly touched. Next its quite bulky, also, the sound at the top end is a bit distorted, the keypads design has you exiting a text more times than ive counted when wanting to just cancel a letter. . oh and finally, Its not much different from any other N series, it just costs alot more.

Internet on a phone - how cool is that?! It's also got fully functioning GPS and a fantastic camera. This is the best phone I have ever had. My mates are all very jealous. Seems to function well for a 3G phone too. You can also use it to make phone calls.
