Nokia 6300i
Review
Phone rating:
In a nutshell: The 6300i is an enhanced version of the now
classic 6300 phone. This is an elegant slimline phone with excellent
ease of use. The enhancement over the normal 6300 is WLAN connectivity,
which enables you to make free VoIP phone calls and data connections
over a WLAN network at home or work, or out and about at a WiFi
"hotspot". The phone also features a 2 megapixel camera,
MP3 player, memory expandable to 4 Gbytes and Bluetooth. Battery
life is still poor, just like the original 6300, and will be worse
if you use WLAN extensively.

at all.The battery does need very regular charging now, though it is
still the original battery.

I have purchased this phone last year and I think it was abig mistake
of chosing this phone. Battery back was the problem right from the first
day. I got it serviced from Nokia authorized centre within the waranty
period but after working for hardly one month it is not getting charged
and when contacted Nokia centre still within waranty period they say
they is aproblem and they may be charging Rs 2000-2500 and still no
guarantee whether it would work fine after that or not. I AM FACING
THE PROBLEM SO i WOULD SUGGEST THAT NOBODY SHOULD BUY THIS PHONE ON
ITS DECEPTIVE LOOKS.ITS BATTERY BACKUP IS TOTALLY NIL AND ITS BATTERY
GETS HOT ON CHARGING

While not packed feature wise, the 6300i is a phone that will certainly
satisfy its owner. Battery life is mediocre, WiFi connectivity is excellent
and apart from VoIP calls it can also be used with Opera Mini, which
comes pre-installed for some basic web surfing. The 6300i also comes
with a version of Nokia Maps installed on the memory card. Nothing fancy
there. Just basic nav functions as the phone has no GPS module installed
(it can however connect to one via Bluetooth). The build quality is
also excellent (no apparent gaps or creaks). I've had the phone for
about a month now and I am really satisfied. Its only drawback is its
SAR value (0,97 W/kg) hence the 4 stars I am rating it.
