The
Nokia 6260 is a business-orientated smartphone with a range of interesting
features.
One
of the characteristics of the 6260's clamshell design is the rotating
screen which can be rotated to a number of positions - open, closed,
facing inwards and facing outwards. The display face can be closed
with the screen facing outwards for browsing the internet or using
applications.
The
screen is very high quality - one of the best from Nokia - using
active TFT technology for a sharp bright image, with 65k colours
and a high resolution. A good quality screen like this is essential
for making good use of the various business applications that come
with the phone.
The
6260 is a series 60 phone with a Symbian operating system. Foremost
amongst the pre-installed business applications is a mobile email
client that uses Quickword and Quickpoint viewers for viewing attachments
(Word and PowerPoint documents). Additional Java™ and Symbian
applications can be stored, and a pre-loaded memory card is supplied
with a number of "try-and-buy" applications.
The
internal memory is not huge at 6 Mbytes, but the memory can be expanded
with 32 Mbyte memory cards. The 6260 has an excellent range of connectivity
options: Bluetooth™, infrared, Pop-Port™ connector and
USB.
The
6260 includes a good quality digital camera that can shoot pictures
at VGA resolution (300,000 pixels) and also record video. The camera
is side-mounted with a movable display that allows for self-portraits.
There's also a built-in FM radio and MP3 player, although the MP3
player is mono and not the best quality.
Nokia
have succeeded in packing a lot into the 6260, with the clamshell
design enabling them to have a large screen but still keep the phone
size small. The phone is quite heavy, but no more than the average
3G phone, and this will probably be acceptable when the full range
of features is considered. The screen is excellent, the spec of
the phone includes everything that most users will need, and the
range of Java and Symbian applications available for the phone is
impressive. With the Nokia 6260 it seems that it is finally possible
to have a business-orientated phone that retains the stylishness
and fun features of a mainstream phone.
The
6260 will inevitably be compared with the Sony
Ericsson P910i. It has to be said that the P910i beats the Nokia
is most respects, however the P910i does cost and weigh considerably
more than the 6260, so there should be room in the marketplace for
both.
On
the negative side, the Nokia 6260 does appear to have software and
reliability problems. You should read the user reviews below to
find out about people's experiences with this phone, but the main
issues seem to be faulty phones, phones breaking and software glitches.
It seems that Nokia smartphones often come with reliability problems,
especially any like the 6260 that feature novel designs or features.

Well, its not brilliant but it aint bad either. Its not really the
features that let it down, its the limited amount of thought that
went into the design of it. Firstly, they put the camera on the
side so that to use it u have to twist the fone into imaging mode,
but, once uve taken the picture, its half the quality of wot it
would b in normal mode. How stupid can the designers get, they make
a dedicated imaging position but it doesnt take gd pictures. Secondly,
the twisty screen is really annoying. it feels really delicate,
as if it will break any second and i dont no if this is just me
but in browse mode the backlight is really weird and just turns
on and off at will and sumtimes when ur browsing through the menu
it just automaticlly goes back to the desktop and turns the backlight
off. Could sum1 plz confirm this coz it might just b a problem with
my 1. Apart from that its a really gd fone. the screen is decent,
the OS runs flawlessly, i like the themes(my old 3650 didnt allow
them so it was really boring), the memory is gd and the connectivity
options are good. Overall good, but i would recommend waiting 4
the 3G nokias in development.

Outstanding phone. That should summrize all the features of this
phone. Great look, great screen. Only two problem I see are hinges
and battery (4c). Otherwise there is no need to argu on quality
of this phone.

This is my 2nd review of this phone (See below). I've only had it
about a month and it's now faulty, looking at some other reviews
seems to be a common theme. Can make calls but I can't send or recieve
SMS. MMS doesn't even start, neither does bluetooth, can't get to
settings. It has been stroppy once in a while, just requiring it
to be restarted - nothing will fix it this time. I even have tried
a factory reset and format. So will get it fixed under warranty,
though with others experiences I'm a bit worried now. All my previous
Nokia's have never had a problem. As for living with it day today,
no real change from my previous comments, can live with it but not
as useful as it should be with a little thought from the designers.
I'm glad some people think it's the best but I question their experience
of other phones.

I really like it so far, had phone for a week. Having problems getting
email etc to work, being a syncro addict it must talk to my PC.
Having difficulty in getting Bluetooth to my USB device. IR is annoyingly
not working or haninging up (cannot figure which yet). So, as a
phone only and not using the functionality, it's great. Not minding
the brick size for the moment but the menu is annoying me as I don't
know where to find anything yet..

Its a very very nice phone has all the features needed.Good buy.
Any one who has baught it did u face the problem of the hinged joing
becoming loose?? and the flap not standing stiff as it is suppose

This is a great fone. Ive had it for a month now and it hasnt had
a single problem. It does everything i want, the build quality is
high and its so damn stylish! Id recommend it to anyone. The only
thing im gonna do to it is upgrade the mmc memory card from the
standard 32mb to a aftermarket 1gb card. Now who said you needed
an iPod??????

A poor phone. Don't bother. The 6170 looks better. Do not be taken
in by the swivel camera. No called id when phone is closed. Keeps
turning itself off - many times in the middle of a call. Uses Symbian
and is very slow indeed to navigate through menus etc. The size
is too big. Wish I had waited for the Motorola Razr V3.

Recently I upgraded to a Nokia 6260 It seemed a great answer to
a number of problems particularly the UK Hands free driving restrictions.
As by reversing the screen and using the Loudspeaker function, it
becomes a speakerphone. Sadly this phone is after only 6 weeks a
useless pile of junk.It snaps shut and one day the screen sadly
was no more. During its short life it has often frozen, needing
the battery and sim card removing and replacing to get it to reboot.
It has turned itself off without any input from me and it has also
taken ages to re-boot. I have asked for help from my nokia/service
provider. who tells me its a chargeable repair costing about a £100
- Well the phone is just not worth it. I took some fine once only
unreplaceable pictures of my daughter which are now locked in the
phone together with a number of essential phone numbers as it downloaded
all my data from the sim card into its memory. Once and if I retrieve
the data I will quite happily junk this monster.I made a huge mistake
buying an all singing all dancing phone. Now My old 6210 without
all the frills etcis back in service. It does what its supposed
to! Works as a reliable Mobile.

Nokia 6260, good if your a business person lookin for a (not so
mini) mini pda. Push to talk and presence are relatively new products,
no one i know has them, but then again they are premium services.
I have had this phone week and a half now, moved to contract from
a nokia 3100. this phone is substanially big, but good features.
Battery life is awful, needs charged every other night, would recommend
buying another battery. Camera not bad quality, video and and bluetooth.
Realtones etc, but buttons on screen are annoying. No external screen,
so advisable to turn 'answer when flip opened' off so you can screen
your calls. i am a teenager, so this phone isnt great for me, somethng
smaller would be better, but will stick with it for 12 months and
pray that by then Nokia bring out smaller flip phone with bluetooth.......

Just a reply to Glen of UK really, I too have a problem with my
phone switching itself off and takes me ages to get it back on again.
Not as reliable as I first thought. Also the battery life is not
all that good, I never get anywhere near the 2-4 hours talk time,
maybe half an hour if I'm lucky, then it needs recharging. Only
had it 2 months and the supplier refuses to replace or fix, as they
have a 21 day policy. Suppose it serves me right for buying it.
Have been unable to get the email to work, not sure why, 02 can
not seem to give me an answer and fob me off with "our engineers
are aware of the problem and will get back to you once it has been
rectified", three times I have now had this message and still can't
send/receive email.

Just got this phone, first looks were great; it's light, and has
a distinctive design. The applications and features are good, camera
and video quality are decent, music is alright although I'm not
really into music. Also John, this phone uses a special Reduced
Sized Memory Card, I've searched for a site which sells them and

I am an amateur Mobile Phone tester & after conducting all sorts
of R&D on this Phone, it seems to be a perfect Phone without any
glitch. There are also many coool applications like FExplorer which
can be used rather than the traditional File Manager that comes
pre-installed with the Phone. There are also many other free apps
available on the Net that can be installed & everything seems to
work fine. The only loophole I found in this Phone is the MP3 Player,
as the Sound Quality & Baaz effects are tooooo poooor compared to
the awesome Sound Quality of the Inbuilt Radio. All in all an Excellent
Phone.

Recieved my Nokia 6260 last week. There are a few things to take
note of before you buy one. 1st its big and chunky, If your after
a phone for looks rather than what it can do, look elsewhere (chav).
2nd The on/off button is annoying as hell to get it to switch on
and off, i struggle to push it in having no nails. 3rd I havnt checked
this up yet but the mmc card looks smaller than a normal mmc card,
so im not sure if u can buy a normal mmc card to upgrade (can someone
please verify) 4th The camera takes a bit of getting used to with
regard to holding it and capturing a photo at the same time 5th
startup takes awhile, but aint really 2 much of a problem, its cuz
the phone has so much stuff on it All these problems above are small
problems With these problems, this phone is still excellent, and
id recommend it to any person that wants a very good quality phone
with all its features, it has every thing you could want and personally
i love it and im very very happy with it.

It's actually a good phone. It has a lot of features that I find
useful in my work. I don't really mind if it's a little big. I also
like its rotating screen features. However, its downside is that
the quality of the pictures are poor compared to the 7200. Color
resolution is not as good as other phones. When I downloaded the
pictures into my computer, they look...well...bad. Even if I opted
for the "high" picture quality, the picture quality is still not
acceptable. Also, the picture cannot be adjusted for size. Another
downside is short battery life. I have to charge my phone once a
day or once every two days. But overall, it's an excellent phone.

I have today received my 3rd replacement phone. The voice taging
system has not worked on any of the phones I've had. My new one's
camera does not work either:>( I know 3 other friends who have had
this phone. So out of 12 phones we have sent 12 faulty phone back
between us. For all the hassle I've had, I wish I had never bothered.

What can i say?? I looked at this phone and thought what the hey,
it looks good and the dimensions aint 2 bad....i will trade in my
perfectly good sony ericsson k700i and give this sucker a go. The
phone arrived and i was flabbergasted...the thing is soo big!!!
Its like an optical illusion...dimensions are fine but the design
makes it look like a brick!!! Sacre Bleu!! Its looks made me wanna
barf, there was no way i was keeping it so it got straight back
in the post!! Goodbye!! Needless to say i had the last laugh

Glen im having the sam problem as you: slow start ups, start-up
failiure and an insert sim sign whilst starting up when clearly
the sim card is in place. its a great phone but the reliability
lets it down. if you are thinking of getting this phone, MAKE SURE
YOU GET IT INSURED! trust me its worth the price

This phone is superb matt ur dumb gettin a motarola v3 it dosent
even have video capture plus its got 5.5mb memory with carnt be
expanded unlinke 6260 wich takes mmc. every1 that isthinking of
gettin this phone dont let all these fools put u off with there
untrue reviews wen i was ready to buy it i read thesereviews and
was put off but wen i got it i saw the truth its a phone that does
almost everything. also yes it is big but if you actually show people
the phone they will be baffled bu the things it does and forget
about the size. trust me people this is a top quality phone.

A phone with a lot of features, however it failed for me in one
important department SIZE. It is a brick, not the sort of thing
you really want to drag around with you, which defeats is main purpose
of being a MOBILE phone. So it went straight back to be replaced
with a Motorola V3.

Great phone Jess thanks, robust and full of features, great signal
strength and the mp3 ringtones sound great. I use this phone for
business and the features including pdf files are most useful. I
have found the recording of video most useful, and would recommend
it to any other sonny service members, thanks Nokia, great !

It combines functionality with style. Very stylish trims, cool apps
and dynamic memory, rotating display - 6260 can be a 3G video phone
with few mods. A must have!

The squeaking sound when playing mp3's can be solved by changing
the bit rate of the mp3 to 128 kbps. As for the mp3 play back it
is mono not stereo. overall it's an okay phone; slightly larger
than i expected.

Just got my 3rd Nokia 6260 in 3 months now and i am trying to change
to somthing different (still nokia)! The phone itself i'm happy
with but the reliability is the issue. Everything has worked ok
for a month then it began switching itself off so I'd switch it
back on (slow to boot up but thats what u suffer for a hi function
phone). After a few days of this it wouldn't switch on so away it
went for repair. After 20 days nokia sent a new phone saying they
couldn't repair it , ok no problem there. 3 days later same faults
happening and insert sim card fault as well to go with it. So it
goes back for repair, I don't know if this one was repaired/replaced
but it has come back and it has started again with the same problems
so i am in the process of seeing if the phone can be changed to
a different model. Anybody else with these problems? If there are
post here then it can be proved to be either A i'm unlucky with
this model phone or B a production problem. Good luck anyone who
has this model but i hope to change mine.

The first time I saw this phone I was turned off by the size. True,
it is a bit larger than the standard flip phones and that may be
a minus for some people, but I think the plethora of features in
has more than justifies its size. To make it simple, here's a list
of pros and cons: PROS: *good camera quality, the unique palcement
is really handy for self-portraits or group shots wherein the owner
has to hold the cam *nice MP3 player,I love using it in the gym
coz I don't have to carry around a separate music player (it's not
as defined as an iPod, but then again if you REALLY want iPod quality
music, why don't you just actually buy an iPod?) *video, I converted
a 30-minute episode of Sex and the City on DVD to a playable format
for the 6260 and now I watch the episode whenever I feel lik it!:)
*system, 6260 runs on Symbian OS and I'm pleased to find so many
applications downloadable on the Web. *Bluetooth, infrared, I love
having Bluetooth coz its so easy to hook up to my laptop and other
devices. I transfer my MP3s and video files via Bluetooth and it
takes no time at all to sync between devices. Nokia should make
this a standard in ALL their higher-end models *needless to say,
its swivel function is really cool, it stands upright unlike other
flip-phones and if I don't wanna use the keypads, its just a quick
flip and I'm in browse mode (also makes the phone half the size)
*the usual feature of Nokia's phones, calendar, notes, wallet etc,
are all familiar good features I love. CONS: * size, for some people
it takes a bit of getting used to, but for all the power this phone
packs, I think getting used to the keypad orientation (esp. the
CLEAR and navi buttons) is worth it. *excellence, this phone is
so good you better watch where you put it or someone may just swipe
it from you! ;D

This fone is awesome wat with the cool camera mode n features like
the picture viewer. Finish is pretty good n unlike the samsung d500
its clamshell design protects the display. The best Nokia Phone
till now n i guess the best value for money smartphone. The applications
are pretty good too. though could have done with some better games
which course can be dloaded. All in all the best phone ive seen
or heard. A must buy.

I was waiting for this last year but as it was delayed I got a P910i
(review on here) - as usual I missed having a Nokia (7250i). I've
just changed contracts and got this. I'm a bit dissapointed....
The biggest problem is the MP3 player is totally pointless, why
they even bother mentioning it, I have no idea - they have a cheek
and nokia should be ashamed. It's only in MONO and sounds awful
- what the point??? It has good feature such as creating playlists
and all, but why would you want to? The radio on the other hand
is Stereo and sounds good! Another design failure is the lack of
outside screen, on a clam-shell phone of this calibre it should
have some external means of seeing that someone has called/sent
a message. You have to open it to see - not very convenient! It
has an external LED which lights when charging or ringing - they
could have used this to blink if you'd missed something - didnt
think about it very hard did they? The good points.. Lots of others,
the screen is great and a good size. The camera is good for a VGA
phone and compares well to others. All the usual nokia stuff, especially
the PC Suite to control and edit content and features. Sony Eric'n
take note!! Overall, I think I'd choose another phone if I had my
time over again, not sure what one though, maybe another SonyE...

i was waiting until it finally arrived in singapore. this phone,
of my very first impression, was the look and the unique rotating
feature that probably makes me love it so much.. but the only thing
was the price that let me down. at a highly priced S$ 850,it's simply
unaffordatble for me as a secondary student. i juz got the phone
5 days ago and i so far... nothing hazzles me. i'm quite satisfied
with it, especially with the unique rotating feature that is more
than enough to "show off" in front of others!! secondly, the giant
key pad and the screen is much better than my former Sony ericsson
T610, one of the most famous phone a year ago in singapore. the
only thing that i thought should me improved is to place one more
display from the outside. go get the phone... as for me, it simply
fits my personality- flexibility!! hahaa

Bought this phone for my girlfriend as a Xmas pressie and have played
a lot with it since, and I have to say, I prefer my Nokia 7610 -
mainly because of the colours on the screen which are far superior
to that on the 6260. Otherwise, the camera on this phone is located
in a very odd place, and its tricky to get a straighforward snapshot.
The twist feature of the screen is excellent and though it hasn't
got a screen on the outside - thats exactly why the screen twists
round - so you can see who's calling, or if you have your phone
on silent etc. The other operating features are virtually identical
to that of my 7610, but with added bits like ability to view Word
and Powerpoint files, tho I haven't tried doing that yet. Having
said all of that, my girlfriend loves it to bits and wanted one
for ages, one of the reasons why, was that it doesn't look like
a typical phone when its folded up, and gives that 'different' look
and feel, she'd give it 5 stars, but I'm the one writing the review,
so its only getting four - the washed out colours on the menu screen
loses it one star.

IT is the best cell in vga category and even can easily compete
with 7610 expect of its camera.it has loads of features that can
stuned any user with its rotating flap it looks like an handycam

Look - keeping in mind this is a ***business-orientated phone***
my opinion is based on this fact. The phone itself is what you'd
expect from nokia build-quality wise; it's okay, but not fantastic.
It's not the most expensive smart phone by far, and exceeds the
7610 (closest nokia smartphone to compare to). It has symbian o/s
version 7, and i agree menu transition can be slow, but it's hardly
deadly, it takes about 0.75 secs i'd say at a guess, which isn't
a killer. Viewing word documents works fine, but viewing large powerpoint
presentations seems to make the APP crash sometime, which is a bit
rubbish really. The camera quality's okay, but could've been a megapixel
like it's fashion-counterpart 7610. It's cheaper than the razr-v3
and the SE910i, and it does what you'd expect. It's easy to install
applications, and as long as you download the latest pc-suite, connecting
to your pc via bluetooth, infrared, or data cable should be a breeze.
If you want the features of this phone then go for it - however
if you're an adolescent who just wants an expensive phone, don't
waste your pennies, it's for people who require it's features. If
you want a smartphone but don't rely so heavily on features such
as installing lots of applications, and reading word documents,
then go for the 7610, which incidentily also has a 1 megapixel camera,
the 6260's is far off 1 megapixel, i think it's 0.5, it'll say in
the specifications above this. Choose carefully, but if you've read
the specs and it suits your lifestyle, this is the phone for you.
It's only 130g and it's not huge, same height as 6230, wee bit wider,
it's the weight that makes it feel a wee bit bigger than what it
actually is.

Got finaly my new Nokia 6260! I'm a Nokialover for the last 5 years,
but this time I was so disapointed. Never imagine to have a bad
phone like this. First the phone is BIG, way too big, couldn't find
out on the internet. The material is poor and will be worse after
some time use. On/off button is wack, camera is hard to use, size
of the MMC card is different means you can't use it anymore on your
laptop. I don't know what to say anymore but don't buy this phone
when u're a advanced user of smartphones, Nokia STOP making folderphones,

OMG its the best, most advanced nokia phone i have ever used and
experienced my entire life, its interface,camera capture, image
utilities they are all of hugh quality, and iam very hard to please,
the coffee blk texture is a work of art, it has truley amazed me,

that's why. Still, the phone could read office documents so it's
OK. Only slack with the phone is when screen's closed, is still

I have fallen madly in love. From the moment I looked at her, I
wanted to have her forever. Thank you, Nokia, for providing me with
my one true love. This phone is the bee's knees, the cat's pyjamas,
even the dog's..well, you get my drift. Nokia have produced probably
one of their greatest phones to date. It has all the essentials
all other Nokia phones have (the menu and layout etc is identical
to the 6600, but the 6260 has more) making it instantly accesible.
The way they've got the cam to function is a genius idea. It makes
taking photos and video clips that much easier. The only thing that
would've made this phone the undisputed Best Phone In The World
is if it had an LCD screen on the front to show who was calling
before you opened it. Other than that, a simply outstanding phone.
Get one now.

i have been waiting ages for nokia to bring out a symbian phone
that incorperates everything and is a clamshell design. my previous
phone was the n-gage but it lacked a camera and the size was difficult
for me. nokia have succeeded in manufacturing a phone which is innotive,
feature packed and affordable! i am very pleased with the phone
and would recommend it to anyone.

I feel especially qualified to review this phone because it's the
second Nokia Series 60 / Symbian phone I've owned. When reading
these reviews, care must be taken to separate the people who just
rave about Series60/Symbian (which is awesome) and this particular
phone design/form factor implementation. In this review I will not
comment on anything that's general to the Series 60 / Symbian operating
system, which, as stated, is awesome: Tons of downloadable applications,
multitasking operating system.. it's the best phone OS around, period.
Anyway, so I previously owned a 3650, one of the earlier Series
60 phones, the one with the weird round dial keypad, which I came
to rather like after getting used to it. Further background: buying
6250 was only necessitated by my old one getting nicked. :-( Summary
/ conclusion: If I hadn't lost my 3650 then 6250 would NOT have
been worth the upgrade. However, if you don't currently own a Symbian
smartphone, it's worth considering because it's currently the most
affordable one of the recent models, and looks cool. (Still, Symbian-phone
people don't require "cool" as the OS and apps/games themselves
are already plenty cool enough :) Some good points: * Looks cool,
nice bright display, clam-shell/swivel design Improvements over
earlier Series 60 phones: More memory, more colours & brighter display.
Better Bluetooth implementation, Skins & themes, minor user interface
tweaks, yada yada.. Email now has SSL support meaning you get to
read Google GMail through POP3 which works incredible. This because
GMail auto-archives your mail after you open it through POP3). This
saves a lot of deleting and filing of old messages. Some flaws:
* Build quality. Hello, is this a Nokia? Doesn't feel like one,
but by all means try it yourself. Anyway, with 2 years warranty,
this may become Nokia's problem rather than mine. * It doesn't feel
faster than my old 3650!? That one was adequate though, so is this
one. Still you're waiting about 2 seconds before your contacts show
up after pressing the button. You'd think it would be instant with
a more recent phone. No complaints about other thigns, such as T9
text entry is plenty fast enough. * Ring tone 'euphoniousness' (is
that a word?) is not improved. Adequate, but not concert hall like
some Samsungs. (Again, Symbian people aren't Nancy's who buy phones
for their cute looks & sounds. If you want something that looks
and sounds cute, go get a baby.) * Camera application automatically
starts when you swivel the display. Why? Have to exit the app every
time you swivel the display! Nokia apparently still thinks of a
camera as a core use of this thing. Also the resolution is not as
good as other recent Nokia phones, but having established that phone
cameras are toys anyway and that 6260 is affordable, I don't see
this as a minus. * Full camera resolution is ONLY available with
the display flat against the base, with the display pointing at
the sky for 'landscape' shots, or sideways (away from you) for standing-up
'portrait' shots. Any other display position will result in something
like 480x320, not 640x480. Why? (The only think I could think of
may be that the smaller image size may be more usable when sent
to other phones that have smaller displays.. Still.. why not make
this user configurable. For shooting at maximum resolution you now
have to look straight down at the screen, holding the phone horizontally.
My grandfather used to own one of those cameras with the viewfinder
pointing at the sky so you had to look straight down into it. It's
exactly like that! * Awkward placement of the pencil button. This
is the button that even many reviewers don't understand what it
does anyway, but it's used to SELECT TEXT for copying and pasting
between applications, AND to select multiple items, messages, emails,
pictures so they can all be sent or deleted all at the same time.
So an ESSENTIAL thing for a smartphone. With the button so close
to the joy-pad, holding the button and dragging/selecting text to
the left becomes VERY difficult. Comments, rants and flames may

A fantastic, innovative, cutting edge phone which is a pleasure
to own. Yes it's a little larger than the average phone, but just
look at all the features(Camera, MP3 player, HTML web browser, Word
and Powerpoint viewer, VPN access, Real video player, etc etc)!!
If you're not going to use the wealth of functions this phone offers
then get something smaller and more basic. Simple.

This phone has many, many good points. I love the camera which is
good for nokia standards as i have found there cameras to be inferior
to samsungs. It has a host of features including bluetooth, realplayer,
infra-red, image phonebook etc. However i have found that the battery
does run out very quickly, usually in a matter of two days it needs
charging. Also the phone is extremely large and this can be annoying.
The buttons can feel flimsy at times and the phone a bit plasticy.
But dont be fooled it is a great phone if you can see past the above.

I got my phone today, and as someone else said on here, took a dislike
almost instantly. I tried to find positive things that I genuinely
liked but they were few. The camera is rubbish, its big, the build
quality is not great and it feels really cheap. The pre-loaded ringtones
are terrible, there wasn't one I liked. Do yourself a favour and
dont get this phone. If you really want it go and have a look at
one first. I will be sending mine back tomorrow.

6260 is a nice phone but is not that good , it is rather big for
a modern phone these days , the camera's position sure sukes , playing
music on it is not a pleasant thing to do and some option are really
bad .Beside that it is cool , nice graphics and i like how the screen
rotates (this feature can give you some headaches sometimes). In
conlcusion the phone is not worth it , there are better phones on
the market.

Samsung phones are the most rubbish make ever. If you have a nokia,

It may be different from those other nokias, but though its a fantastic
one. it has so many features but still same with the 6600 and 7610,
but it makes u feel like an executive. It can give you the satisfaction
in voicecall cause it is level both in your mouth and ear. it is
not big as it seems, 6600 is much more bulky than this one. the
only problem with this phone is that the MMC is much smaller than
the usual, cause i have one with my 6600 which doesnt fit, and another
thing is that some mobile phones are already in their 262k colors
while this one is still with its 65k colors, but still i recommend
this phone cause this is something that yo will not regret

In most respects, this is a superb phone for the price-tag. However
there are several feature that leave a lot to be desired. For a
start, the phone is BIG, there's no hiding the fact that it's a
heavy beast either. The placement of the buttons can prove to be
a little fiddly too, as those with small fingers will find it difficult
to stretch to the function keys whilst texting, whilst those with
big fingers will mash several keys together. The biggest disappointment
for me however, was the much hyped MP3 player. There's not a lot
of point of having expandable memory when the sound quality is so
poor it's practically unusable. There is no bass at all, and no
sttings to rectify the problem. I initially thought it was the headphones
- but the radio is crystal clear. What's going on, Nokia? I'm assuming
this is a problem with their software which should hopefully be
able to be fixed in the future. I bought this phone as i cannot
afford an MP3 player and a phone. If music's you r thing - remember
this is a phone first and foremost.

Good reviews are hard to find, and this is a popular phone so I
will try to be as objective as possible. Faults: - There are definitely
some quality control issues with the 6260. I returned the 1st one
due to a huge gap down the upper clam shell seam, where the top
half meets the bottom half of the upper sandwich (get it?). - My
new phones battery cover looks to be about 1mm small all around
the edge, it puts on snug enough and doesn't move but the 1mm gap
looks a bit dodgy. - The main screen seems to be rotated approx
1 - 2 degrees to the right, not a problem but now and then it catches
your eye and gives you a complex for a few minutes. - When closed
the top half of the clamshell is not flush with the bottom half,
it rides off the left edge of the bottom half (imagine if it is
closed and on a table) about 1mm. This, I believe, stems from the
rotating hinge where the clamshell joins as this also is leaning
slightly to the left. Questionables: The casing is light and does
feel a little plasticy, however, excluding the above faults, the
camera feels tight and sturdy maintaining a good balance when in
any of the 4 modes. The On / Off button is possibly recessed too
far but it stops you accidentally turning it off, although quickly
applying profiles takes some getting used to, as this is done by
a menu accessed with a quick push of the On / Off key. Screen: Having
been a user of the Sharp GX 20 the 1st thing that that grabbed me
was that the screen had less pixels. Don't get me wrong, the screen
on the 6260 is very bright and clear but some of my transferred
pictures have jaggies and generally don't look and smooth as the
GX 20. Still, the screen uses real estate in a much friendlier way
than the ridiculas Vodafone menu on the Sharp which makes navigation
much easier. So that's chalk one against the 6260, not a move up
in terms of screen quality. Buttons: The lower set of buttons are
of a perfect size for me and feel comfortable whilst using them.
The upper ser (below the screen) also feel the right size. I have
found the separated keypads to be no trouble in general use. SMS
and typing is a bit frustrating as I continue to press Cancel (which
exits the sms I'm typing) instead of C for backspace. I will no
doubt get used to this. The directional pad works well but does
not recede deep enough into the phone when you push it! Also, it
should feel like a click at the end (no sound) so you are sure you've
pushed it, but no. The centre button is easily pressed if you don't
concentrate. Games are also a nuisance but, having the ability to
fold the screen around makes up for all of these issues. Camera:
Compared to the GX 20 i'Ts a bit rubbish. No flash, no exposure,etc
and you never quite know how big your picture will be. The pictures
are not saturated enough and are very grainy. Don't think that I
expect too much, I only expect a years advancement after all, look
at how digital camera improve in 12 months! No excuse nokia, 1mp
is not really necessary in a phone, but at least improving the quality
of your 640*480 hardware / software would be a good addition to
this camera! Sound: I thought the 6260 would be the phone to replace
my Sony PDA for MP3 playback. No. Plain and simple, I though my
PDA output was okayish but there simply is no bass on the 6260.
No stereo either! Mono would be good if it didn't remove the bass
and reduce the volume. Trust me, I've tried mixing a track in Adobe
Audition to sound better and it still sounds bad, you can listen
to it, but you wouldn't enjoy it whilst on the bus to work! The
radio sounds great and auto tunes into all available stations for
you. It is a marked difference between MP3, if only songs off card
sounded as rich as the radio. The external speaker is clear but
quiet and distorts when you approach max volume, better when listening
to the radio but still quiet. OS: Symbian. This is a great system
for mobiles. N-GAGA games work, well, some. Most things I've thrown
at it seem to work except for camera/mp3 and picture apps. After
starting up the phone pauses when entering the menu for the 1st
time, but after that works quickly and without fail. Multi-tasking
is fantastic! I am pleased with the Nokia 6260 overall, my biggest
complaint is the half baked MP3 playback, almost a shame I BOUGHT
A 256MB RSMMC CARD!. Ah well. It is as big as I'd consider in a
handset but the features make it a winner in my book! Stoley.

First I got my eyes on the N6170 since March till I finally realized
that its not such a great phone... no bluetooth? no memory card?
so finally made up my mind to get the N6260. Been waiting for this
phone to come out since June. Finally got it early this november.
Compared to the the previous phones I've had, this phone's way the
biggest and yet the best! I mean compared to the N8210 and N6100?
c'mon - HUGE diff! But hey, I love it. Yes I agree with the downsides
of the phone as mentioned above like the keypad issue? Well you
should have figured that out the moment you saw the actual phone!
I had no problems with it since I always use both my hands when
sending text messages. Though the camera was yeah, a dissapointment
to me but its a camera nonetheless. Can finally take photos and
shoot videos of memorable events - CAMCORDER STYLE! Its a phone
that has everything in it, for me at least. There's just so much
to say about this phone, its been more than 2 weeks now since I
g ot it and I can't lay my eyes and hands off it. But I'll end it
here and let you find out more about the phone. The N6260 is stylish,
sophisticated, and definitely practical. Thats all I can say.

The phone is amazing... it isn't slow, just like computer it takes
few minutes to start and then it runs perfectly... My 6260 is at
this time in service, there was a little displacement in the clam.
Yesterday it came back and the problem was fixed but the shell was
a bit open and now it has gone back to be fixed =)... The phone
is perfect, I have bumbed into some occasions like my problem that
there are some faults in the phone like the clam or the starting
button. You just have to buy a faultless piece ;) The phone itself
is perfect and all of the n-gage games work on it!

I Have received my Nokia 6260 today, having always had Nokia I transfered
to the dark side of the force,Samsung E700 last year. When the 6260
became available, I thought I would return to the Nokia fold. First
impresions poor build quality, screen housing is poorly put together,
the dimensions much are to big. The functionality and ergonomics
are poorly thought through. The talk time is over rated. Generally
very disapointed, not impressed, I will be returning my phone tomorrow.

For non nokia lovers please do not compare other phones with this.
Nokia has tried to push its way up like other phone. However i think
nokia cellphones are acceptable these days. The only main thing
that nokia had to do is to improve thier colour screen, a larger
one like 176x220 pixels will do with megapixel cameras such as the
Sony Ercisson S700. Nokia 6260 has an innovative design like no
other i had seen. Even if i would to compare Nokia 6260 with Sony
Ericsson S700. I would rather choose Nokia 6260.

Sorry nokia lovers but this phone is a big disappointment. It has
a great spec but none of the features work particularly well in
my opinion. It also feels very cheap. Although I thought it was
a nice idea to twist the screen around, in reality it has no use
whatsoever and very often the screen wobbles as the locking position
doesn't work. The keys move around, the camera quality is awful,
the ringtones sound very basic and the software is no more impressive
than a lot of built-in features on most phones. I'm not gonna try
and convince you buy another phone like everyone else because I'm
sure you can make your own mind, but please try it before you buy
it. Although I desperately wanted to like it, it's done enough to
convince me that a nokia is not the way forward.

The phone is very much as 6600 The only changes are The the swap
and the cam and not to mention the clamshell his self. But I like
the phone very much and I know that the phone isn't that perfect
but If you like the options of the phone 7610 but not the disign
than I can assure you that this choice is excelent. THe only badpoint
I see are the cam modes and the cam him self. And the price of course
is very high.

I got this phone last week and so far am happy with it. A few things
let it down in my opinion though; it is fiddly to turn it on or
off, it takes too long to navigate to the menu items you use frequently
because most items cannot be added to the handy "Go To" (shortcut)menu;
an alarm that can be set for the week would be handy as in the SonyEricsson
T610 I previously had. Also the Bluetooth connectivity could be
improved as I cannot no matter what I try - connect with all the
features supplied in the bundled Nokia Suite software, pictures
or sounds apart. It is definitely stylish though and I love the
large keypad compared to the T610.

Ok, so this is a great phone, but still... I hear people moaning
that the 6260's clear/cancel button is placed in the wrong place,
and that the 0.3 Megapixel camera isn't excellent... But then again,
has anyone seen a phone taht doesnt have any downsides? To solve
the 'problem' of the camera, there are many cam-apps one can download
to improve that... This is after all a Symbian 7.1 phone, which
is more updated now than the latest version of the 6600 which resembles
and feels like holding a brick in your hand! The hot-swap MMC is
great, no havin to turn off the phone to change MMC's, and it can
handle bigger MMC's than the 6600 can too... All i want to know
is if it has MPG/AVI playback or if there are any applications to
allow this playback... Think about this, if these so called 'problems'
werent on this phone, they would eventually appear on better phones,
and thus us moaning then too. This Phone is one of the best phones
ive had so far.. Congrats Nokia, Keep Them Rolling Off The Production
Line...

I have bought the phone almost a week now. I do like the phone,
however, I really hated it because it annoys me every time I have
to change some things every time I text because the Cancel Key is
located on the lower part of the screen, which is perpendicular
to the keypads. I also do not think that the Nokia 6260 is comparable
with the SE P900 because my brother also has a phone like that because
P900 is way-way farther than 6260. Here, the P900 costs $805, while
the 6260 only costs $445.

Well, I gave it a 3, It's definately a feature packed exciting phone,
but its definately not small. When folded closed or in browse mode
yes.. But when flipped open god damn!!! Look out And for the price
its actually a bargain I thought, only 600AUD compared to the 1000
or so that the 6230 is going for, same phone, smaller and without
the Symbian OS!! Just think about how much you can do with the Symbian
OS that you can't do with similar phones without. Fair enough its
a Clamshell and Nokia haven't really done wonders with them before,
but I think this time it adds a bit more practicality to an otherwise
bulky phone.. For example, look at all their other Smart phones,
HUGE. The 6260 is also huge, but you have the option of reducing
its size. At least I know I definately won't be carrying it around
in my pocket that often. Well at this stage I think it will be too
big. All in all I think its an awesome phone, it has everything
anybody could possibly want, and if it doesn't have it, Symbian
OS allows you to install the application, and with the amount of
aftermarket applications around, that shouldn't be a problem to
find. Size and Weight are the only issues I have. Oh, and I would
say the non 1mp camera is an issue.. But once more, Symbian OS with
a program called PhotoAcute remedies that.

nokia hater, does the p900 look and feel like a brick - YES does

Just got the phone, like to listen to music. The sound quality is
appaling! Anyone else tried listening to music and felt the same

This phone is the business. I much prefer it to the 6600! Its got
style - a great screen and is easy to use. I have just bought mine
in London though its not available in the shops yet. A quality product.

Wait wait wait!!! I have this phone sitting in front of me and tomorrow
it is going back. Firstly this phone is amazing but it has it's
down sides, and when your paying big bucks for a handset like this
you really have to expect the best. The phone is about the same
size as the first 3G NEC handsets and this came as abit of a suprise
on opening the box. The power on button in the right hand corner
is designed for a woman with long nails, i have average size fingers
and i struggled to turn it off or on. Also the screen is very flimsy,
but at the same time very impresive display colour wise. Also the
buttons are in the wrong place. If your texting someone and you
make a mistake you have to press the cancel button under the screen,
which can be a bit annoying. Nokia have only to my knowledge released
a handful of "flip" phones and none of them have set the world alight.
Please don't think i am saying this phone is rubbish because it
isn't, it is amazing and will surely turn heads but if you want
to get a phone like this you may as well wait until the major UK
networks release their 3G handsets later this year and early next
year.

This is a very good phone for buisness! And New nokia hater - how
much cost your p900 and this nokia??? I think this is a very good
phone? but in december i will buy NOKIA 6630 and that phone i`ll
give to my father

i havent actually bought the phone yet but from what ive seen and
heard and read it seems to be an almighty phone. i think that New
Nokia Hater just doesnt like nokias i dont think you should listen
to him. im going to try it out and if youre interested i think you
should to, plus it looks sexual and it has loads of class stuff
that i can imagine will keep me at it for hours. when i buy it i

Looks fine! Works fine! Very qualitative phone. SE P900 looks as
big mistake with his poor usability :)

It suks big time. Ive taken it back and bought a Sony Ericsson P900.
Want my advice dont buy this phone, i hardly got any support , i
am sort of glad it happened sooner rather than later though. My
new P900 outclasses it in everyway
