In a nutshell: A super-lightweight 3G smartphone with a
massive array of features: 5 megapixel camera with xenon flash,

to 8 GB memory, ... the list goes on. There's almost nothing missing
from this phone, and it just loses one star because of its cheap
plastic casing.

The saying "wolf in sheep's clothing"
has never been more true. The 6220 Classic is an absolutely amazing,
feature-packed phone that has nearly all the features of Nokia's
N95 flagship, but it looks and feels like a kid's toy phone. What
were Nokia thinking of?
The feature list is incredible: 3G Symbian smartphone
with HSDPA. 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and xenon flash. Video
calling. Music player and FM radio. A-GPS navigation and Nokia Maps
2.0. 120 MB of built-in memory, plus supplied with a 1GB microSD
memory card, with the option to expand to 8 GB. Bluetooth &
USB connectivity. 2.5mm audio connection. The list of features includes
everything that the Nokia N95 has apart
from Wi-Fi. Yet it's much cheaper than the N95 and seems to have
a more reliable operating system too, with virtually no reports
of freezing or shutdowns. Oh, and it's so much slimmer and lighter
than the big bad N95. It's a dream phone in so many ways.
And yet ... first impressions are very poor. The
casing is all plastic. It feels cheap. The keypad creaks and feels
like its going to fall apart.
This is a difficult phone to rate. If it wasn't
so plasticky, we'd definitely have given it 5 stars. But with such
poor build quality and poor keypad, it rates just 3 stars. However,
if you want a highly-featured phone and are on a budget, this one
should definitely be on your list.

I have just upgraded to this phone, and am thinking i've made a
mistake, but am going to try to soldier on. Tried to transfer pics
etc but does not seem to work, am not that savy when it comes to
new tec (as my kids tell me lol) but it is very plasticky but light,
not having much luck with the disc they gave me to instal that is
not woking. Maybe with all the comments below I should go back and
exchange it for a different model!!! cannot rate it higher than

well well, what can i say?Great looking phone but I have never been
so dissapointed with a Nokia before.I bought two of the 6220 Classic,
in black, one for myself,one for my wife. Very happy until we got
home.Would you believe I had to go back to the shop the next daywith
both phones, on mine the keys were actually not fitted propery on
the frameand my wifes kept turning off every 10 minutes or so.We
got new ones as replacements,no problems, until abput a month ago,
when we noticed that the hones would simply turn off and on on their
own, mine is locking itself on the GPS and cant exit,unless I turn
it off, two weeks ago tried to open a doc.file on the quickoffice
included and it asked me to upgrade the version.No problems so far,
I updated to version 6, it worked for 7 days and then it asked me
for new codes...how weird, when I have already paid for it. Anyway,
yesterdayI had to uninstall the office from nokia and I am now able
to read doc. files...for the moment. But: my phone is logging itself
on te internet, very often the screen freezes and the only solution
is to take the battery out for a few minutes (three times only today)turns
off and back on again whenever it feels like,doesnt log out from
the Skype, MSN Messenger,GPS when I exit the programs from the menu.
And this happened with the updeted software as well. So, in all,
for 200 euro I could and should have bought anything else,an LG
or Sony, Samsung... Yes I am dissapointed and will think more next
time before buying a Nokia. By the way, I am with the "3" Ireland

Well I got this phone for a song. I was going to buy it out right
for about £220, but I was able to acquire the phone on Virgin Mobile
network, a 12 month contract for £20 a month - total cost over the
term £240, the phone arrived unbranded, unlocked, no Virgin mobile
customizations - so I've essentially got the device on interest
free credit with some free minuites and texts as a bonus, at least
that's how I'm looking at it! The phone itself - it's great! Feature
packed to the brim. A-GPS is very effective and fast, the Release
2 additions to S60 have really nice transition effects and other
visual niceties. Expandable to 8GB SDHC if I need it, there are
good accessories included to boot - video out cable, headset, etc.
The headset isn't great but can be easily upgraded. Whilst it is
true that the build quality of the case and keypad really does let
this feature filled phone down, it does very effectively keep the
cost of the device down, and as such is an ideal phone for those
that value substance over looks. Still looses a star for the hideous
keypad, though. Rating:

i got this phone a week ago and i can tell you now if your thinking
of buying it dont let the bad reviews below put you off. I had told
my auntie i wanted this phone for my birthday and after telling
her I came on here. When I read the reviews I was put off very much
but i learned that my auntie had already bought it. I was very scared
that the phone was going to be rubbish but trust me it isnt. I LOVE
my phone. The camera is great and the phone does everything well.
I also dont have problems with the keys at all. Buy this phone and

I got this phone probably for the same reasons as many others -
GPS, music & good camera for a comparatively good price. The built
quality, while not as stellar as say a 6300 isn't the end of the
world. The real problems come when using the phone. Someone has
already mentioned this but I will say it again because it's a terrible
design feature. The end call and answer call buttons are completely
flush with and right next to the number pad. What this most effects
is texting - during a text when you reach for the 1 key it's so
easy to press the greren phone button which just happens to be the
instant send button. I've sent so many half finished texts i've
lost count. The other 2 main issues are speed and battery life.
Speed wise you can put a basic theme on and turn off all animations
and it becomes just about acceptable. Battery wise you're basically
looking at charging it every day, if you turn the screen brightness
down to 50% and barely use the phone you can just about squeeze
2 days but that's it. I've given it 2 stars because the GPS and
camera are actually pretty decent. If you're into running or cycling
sport tracker is also very handy. I would say that if you don't
text much, don't mind charging every night and don't mind a plasticy
phone then it might be OK for you. Otherwise steer clear. Rating:

This is the most disappointing, nastiest phone I have used in close
to 20 years and, in my opinion, a real let down for Nokia. The plastic
casing is cheap and nasty and along with the keypad resembles a
child's toy mobile phone. The hang up, cancel and function buttons
are so close together it is difficult not to press all three buttons
at the same time. The technology may be good but the operational
side of the phone is terrible. My 6300 on the other hand is a solid
and very easy to use, functional phone and puts the 6220 to shame. Rating:

Brilliant phone in many ways, quite amazing how many high-spec features
are packed in to a relatively small, light body. Internet speeds
are very good as long as you get a decent 3G signal, camera is very
good, screen is big enough and detailed enough for video and pics
without making the phone cumbersome. The maps facility is ace as
well. My only real gripe - and I don't know whether I might have
got a dodgy battery - is that it absolutely canes the juice and
unexpectedly runs low, which means it becomes much more reluctant
to find a signal and struggles if you go out of range and then come
back in again. however, this could be because I use it too much
on the internet and for games! When fully charged it's a beast and
just as good as much more expensive phones. Just remember to carry

6220C is a great function packed phone. With its size much smaller
than the N-series, but not so far behind on functions & specifications,
I am truely amazed with this mobile. Of course if it has WiFi will
be perfect!! I think for the shame cheap keypads, I can bare it
whenever I relate it to its price. Though the keypads are not as
bad as intolerable. Besides I don't think even N82 has very fine
keypad design. For normal everyday regular usage, what more are

Treat it with respect and its a very high tech phone. World wide
maps for free and if you are lost the other side of the world just
open Maps to get My Position, also free. Camera brilliant with the

Disappointing, great feature but signal is always low, my old phone
N73 was brilliant and still has a higher signal than the 6220 but
stuck in a contract with a now AWFUL THREE for another 18months.
Going to try a £2 reflector off Ebay failing that may just sell
it and keep using the N73 !! Three even told me the signal is lower
as reception on the 6220 is not good - even after that they wont
change it as I have "used" the phone - deerr yeah ! Rating:

Nokia - Shame on you. It must be so easy to have designed the keypad
properly in the first place. Its the most used bit of the phone.
For 10 pence more it could have been just fine. However for those
of you with broken keypads The keypad simply clips back on at the
top and bottom of the phone. Press the whole thing down hard at
once and it will snap back into place. If its just detached, chances
are it may not even be broken, just unclipped. If it is broken and
nokia won't replace it, new keypads are available from ebay for
around £5 and as a plus, the replacement item I bought seems of
much better quality than the original. 4 months, dropped several
times, and still works fine. If you slip a bit of plain paper or
2 sheets depending on preference (cut it to size) under the keypad
it will feel a lot better and won't sound or feel plasticy. In fact
texting is now a breeze and is a silent job. TO remove the original,
just pull it off from the bottom. To put the new one in just press
it back into place. Be sure to pull the whole thing off and not
just the black plastic top layer or you will break the key! Rest
of phone's good though. Add wifi and build it properly and I'd have
given it a full 5 star rating. As it is, I've enjoyed using mine
so still gets 4 stars largely cos of the features (GPS, music player,
good screen, smart phone, 5MP camera with real flash, easy to use),
yet its light and compact. Rating:

Absolute rubbish, there was a time when nokia phones were the best,
now look at them! My phone is under 6 months old and the keypad
is already lifting off, this makes pressing the camera button near
impossible, and answering a call using the green button is getting
more and more difficult. Will try to take it back to orange later

I have a Nokia 6220 which is a great disappointment. It was faulty
from receipt, it is fiddly the key pad is customer unfriendly, with
two bits of plastic at each corner which are supposed to act as
process buttons. Give me back my Nokia 6300, which lacks the hi
tech but was a doddle to use and a better job. Rating:

Have hacked it and filled it withs appz galore. Though latest firmware
is not hackable .like most newer nokia models. It handles alot of

Had the 6120 Classic for a while so was looking forward to this
upgrade. Especially as it had a larger screen, better camera, GPS
and updated OS. However was quite disapointed in its build quality.
The keypad had an ultrathin plastic sheet which felt extremely brittle.
Infact the plastics used on the phone overall are of poor quality.
Even the lens cover snib felt it would come away a anytime. Was
forced to sell this mickey mouse phone on ebay immediately. Rating:

To sum it up.. CHEAP If you are expecting the build quality of early
Nokia handset's you will be greatly disappointed. Never have I been
so dissatisfied with a handset. Screen was not aligned correctly,
case creaked, poorly constucted, keys did not always respond correctly,
slow menu's and hung constantly. For the money its a rip off...don't

For - Outstanding features, GPS, music quality, 5MP camera (so long
as you adjust settings), 3.5G internet speed, ease of use, good
screen, small and light, easy to carry about. Against - Not as reliable
since firmware upgrade, slightly muffled call quality, battery life,
lightweight build. No wifi, default camera settings give washed
out pictures (can save custom ones that work much better) To sum
up - Almost as good as an n95 (it would be if it had wifi, and a
lot more pocketable. 6 months on I've dropped my score to 4 stars
having previously put a 5 star review on here. If its stable and
running well I do not advise you upgrade the firmware. Since i've
done this I've had had voicemails from people when the phone was
actually on. Resetting settings to default appears to have fixed
it but still get the odd network busy message though is that o2's
fault? The GPS is brilliant for walking, less impressive in the
car. If it loses the signal it can freeze and struggle to recalculate.
Again wasn't a problem before firmware upgrade, but the small display,
fiddy keypad compared to a GPS still mean its not ideal for in car
use. If someone texts or calls it may or may not work afterwards.
Given nokia charges £80 for a UK license for 1 years usage of maps,
and a garmin for £100 unlimited use or a tom tom for is a no brainer.
Walking mode only costs £20 and thats probably worth having. Saves
you lugging along a sat nav or map in your pocket when trying to
find places in cities. I still like it though. The build is a bit
lightweight but it has been dropped on several occasions and still
works as new, software problems withstanding. Looks new. Only one
minor scuff on the front, so its tougher than you might think. The
lightweight build makes it a pleasure to carry with you in your
pocket. Use the net or features and the battery takes a hit. Could
do with a more powerful battery. It takes virtually no time to recharge
(less than 2 hours) so it must be quite a small capacity. Might
see if I can pick up a high capacity one off ebay. Rating:

Upgraded to this phone from a Sony K800. Photos are about the same
quality and very good for a phone. Gps with Nokia Maps works well
and is the main reason I changed phone. However the phone feels
cheap and nasty, battery life is almost half what I got from the
Sony with the same usage, the keyboard isn't nearly as good as the
Sony and the display themes Nokia supply with the phone are just
plain naff. If it wasn't for needing the gps I'd definitely go back

Felt I was taking abit of a gamble getting the 6220c having read
all the reviews below, but I shouldn't have worried - I'm more than
happy with the phone. Plasticy casing and clicky keys are not nearly
as bad as some have made out. It looks pretty styley too I think.
This is my first 'tech' phone and I didn't want a slider, a big
clumpy N-series or a touch screeen phone that's bound to go wrong.
Battery life not amazing, but if you turn the screen brightness
down that helps... All in all it's great. Rating:

wot a load of rubbish i`m on my 3rd in 8 weeks after various faults.
1 dropping calls. 2 forever losing network coverage. 3 forever having
"unforseen problems please power off the phone" messages displayed
on the screen. 4 it rattles more than my 6 month old daughters toys.
5 do not always send your messages. 6 has a mind of its own if it
will ring when you get a call/message or not. 7 forever asking for
a sim card to be fitted. 8 won`t back up to or from memory card
data that has been saved. 9 the worse mobile i have ever had and

I've used this site to choose my last three phones so thought I
should put something back by commmenting on this the latest addition
to my stable. My lsat phone was a Samsung G600 which is easily the
worst phone I have ever owned so after forays to Sony and elsewhere
I have come home to a Nokia - and I'm very pleased I have. No more
thumb strains trying to text with the G600, keys laid out logically
again and a predictive text and spelling entry system that actually
remembers previous words. Having read the previous reports I was
expecting a rather shoddy phone with a lightweight feel. I did get
a lightweight phone - but in a carbon fibre light-but-strong way
rather than just cheap plastic way. If I dropped this one I would
expect it to bounce rather than smash. I was expecting to have to
do the paper-under-the-keys mod and bending the lugs into place
(thanks paul for your time in explaining this) but neither is has
been necessary as it all fits together rather nicely. It isn't slow
enough to annoy me, I have had no calls dropping out or beeping
problems (and our reception round south Northants is rubbish). The
camera and flash are excellent for a phone, easily the best I have
tried. Battery life for me is about four days. Bad points: I agree
with Murphy's diatribe about the shifting of contacts from previous
phone (but at the time I put that down to my awful Samsung). I have
yet to find his other faults. Maybe I have got one from a good batch
I don't know but as a free upgrade on orange I am totally delighted.

I'm surprised at the moans about the build of the phone. Yes, it
bucks some of the trends of current phone design and the keyboard
takes a bit of getting used to but in a couple of days you'll be
a happy owner. The browser is quick and the camera quality is superb.
For the price - I got if for £15 a month on 3 - it's an absolute

This phone has so many problems it is a disgrace, as a phone it
is totally unuseable. It is suffering from an extreme dose of software
diarrhoea. Look, forget about cameras and all the rest of the stuff
on this device. try using it as a PHONE. Thats where you will have
a few nasty surprises : and before you say you must have a faulty
one, I am now on my third one, guess what, yes your correct, all
the same! I shall list only a few of the 44 faults detected in the
space of 4 weeks of useage ( of the PHONE functions only ). 1. Constant
BEEP ... BEEP ...BEEPing sounds during a call , blotting out the
voice of the caller. 2. Send a text. Then wait for hours for the
reply. No reply, so send another text, still no reply. Then check
in the "SENT ITEMS", it has two "FAILED" labels for the person I
sent the text to. So you think that is bad enough, your wrong, it
has erased the content of my two text messages ! Nokia, here is
a fundamental in communication. When sending a text, immediately
confirm to the sender that the text has been successful sent or
failed. 3. Imagine a phone where you search for someone in your
'contacts' list. I searched for 'Sam' by typing in 'S'. It returns
a group of my contacts starting with ANDREW, TERRY, JOHN. What the
heck use is that. The function just does not work correctly. 4.
There is no sim card extraction mechanism. I have taken up to five
minutes to get my sim card out of the phone. 5. Imagine a phone
that when you press the keys they fall off. Yes folks, this phone
is a beauty! 6. Imagine a phone where you transfer your sim card
from your old NOKIA phone to the NOKIA 6220 classic, only to find
that the contacts list names are chopped in two because the string
lengths between the two phones are incompatible. i.e no inter-operability
between phones. 7. Imagine a phone where your sim card contact numbers
have now been changed from 'HOME' to 'MOBILE' labels on your new
phone. 8. Imagine a phone where, with a strong signal being received,
you get no calls for hours. You then transfer your sim card to your
old phone, and in horror you find you have had several calls in
the intervening period. 9. Imagine a phone where you check in your
'SENT' text folder and find that the text has been sent. Only one
problem here, IT HAS NOT BEEN SENT ! You only find this out several
hours later when you speak to the person. 10. Imagine a phone where
after a few minutes of texting you finger gets very sore due to
the excess pressure required to actuate the buttons. 11.Imagine
a phone where the phone back retaining tabs are only a few thou
thick and they interface with slots on the main body that have NO
LEAD IN to increase the interface tolerance. The result? bent and
buckled tabs and a back that has to be replaced. People, there is
no more imagination required, this phone is available now for you
to buy today, yes its 'THE NOKIA 6220 CLASSIC' and a classic it

Yep, the phone is a bit tacky to the feel. But it has great looks.
My main grumble is battery life. Barely 36 hrs before it need recharging.
Otherwise its a nice phone. Sat Nav is very good, (although you
do need a bundle).brilliant interface, some GPs problems in the
valley though. Camera is good. Nice outdoor shots, indoors not so
great. Nice gadgetry includes voice assisted response. One day this
phone will look old hat, but for now, I'd say its a good piece of

I hate this phone! I have had lots of Nokias and loved them all
and because of this am bitterly disapointed with this tatty hunk
of junk. The back falls off. Its difficult to get the keypad locked
and unlocked and needs both hands to achieve it and the buttons
are difficult and unresponsive. The stupid lens cover is loose and
slides open in the pocket activating the camera and of course the
phone, to do who knows what when your not looking. I have had to
push a lump of Blue Tac into the slide to keep it shut! Looks great!
The cheap plastic case creaks and groans when you hold it and the
battery life is pathetic. Problem is i have it on an 18 month contract,
have 14 months left and am seriously considering going back to my
old 6330 which is rather dated now but is a classic and a dream

The aim of review is to help people with problems and get the most
out of a really good phone. Believe you me I do not have low expectations
from phones. Keypad - Horrid out of the box. Unclip keypad from
front, cut out two pieces of plain paper to the size of the base.
Insert one on top of the other and clip keypad back on. You now
have a positive, nicely responsive, and quiet keypad. (Yes I know
you shouldn't have to do this!) Battery cover is fine, just make
sure you have it lined up properly. It has never fallen off or been
difficult to remove. Check plastic pins at bottom of it are not
bent. Sat nav sensitivity - Ensure assisted GPS is switched on in
phone settings, positioning methods. This will result in more reliable
connection. Note it will cost as it downloads 10kb a go to locate
signal. Not much but if you don't have an internet bundle you might
notice it adding a couple of quid to your bill. Switch it off will
mean it takes longer to get a single but is totally free. With my
internet bundle on o2 (£7/month) it costs nothing with assisted
on. If you wanna reduce costs ensure you download maps on PC + transfer
to phone otherwise it will do it on the fly and that is gonna cost
you loads. Flash - There is an option to switch it on permenantly
in settings, it will only switch on otherwise if the sensor detects
low enough light. If battery life is less than 2 days with moderate
usage then you've either left GPS or internet connection on or something
running. Hold down menu key and quit any applications not needed,
if you leave web browser running the internet will stay connected!
Washed out photo's. - Set camera to user defined - edit settings,
tweak contrast to increased, white balance to cloudy (this seemed
to produce much livelier photo's) and then use this setting to take
photo's. Even seems to work well inside. Think thats the solution
to most of the problems - problems like dropping calls could be
caused by only having 3g networks selected (UTMS) - which can fail
in many areas and drop to 2g temporarily. Ensure you have auto selected
in network options and it will automatically switch between the
two when signal is poor. Freezing could be caused by running too
much at once. If not then consider updating to latest firmware using
nokia updater. That should fix software bugs. This is a phone with
an OS and is more like a computer. Its a smart phone and that means
it can multitask, play music whilst you type a text or surf the
net. Keep sat nav working even when your mate is trying to call
you. It therefore needs to be treated as such and you need to learn
how to use it. Once you've used a smart phone for a while it all
becomes second nature. Rating:

OK firstly I agree about the keypad. Takes some getting used to.
I ended up doing DIY on it inserting 2 bits of A4 neatly cut out
to fit under keypad between it and phone (simply unclips from front).
This gets rid of horrible clicky action and now its easy to text
on, easier than most phones I've used infact (virtually every phone
seems to have a keypad people 3 miles away can hear you texting
on, why so clicky! I agree that you shouldn't need to do DIY on
a new phone, nokia what were you thinking off! But for me it still
gets 5 stars. Firstly the GPS is brilliant. I used it on holiday
in America to get me all over the place, mainly on foot and although
not perfect (sometimes it takes a couple of minutes to lock onto
a signal and battery life is 4 hours max) it did a good job. Also
works well in UK and I actually found it easier to get to a friends
than with the tom tom as it gives instructions a quarter of a mile
and just before you get to a street (not 300 yards before and then
right in middle of it). Has one huge advantage over google maps
on other devices. You can download maps to memory card so no need
to pay for expensive GPRS roaming. Then there's web browser/email
support which is ideal for just checking if you've got any important
messages. Music player is good and the phones speaker is pretty
decent too. Calling quality and signal are first rate. Its easy
to use, reliable and a great phone. To be honest I'm rounding up.
Its 4.5 stars simply because there's nothing this pocketable with
so many features. If it had wifi and was better made it would be
unbeatable. Despite the lack of wifi I much prefer it to N95 which
is too bulky and less reliable. Just feels older. I've got used
to 6220 classic styling, quite minamilist but also quite smart at

Had the phone for a day, had a right hassel getting the thing up
and running - orange 150 less than helpfull, overseas call centers
are enough to make me switch! Anyway, the phone is back in its box
after 1 day as there is an intermittant fault with it when you make
a call the speaker crackles and that's just on normal sound. Shame
really as apart from the cheap feeling of the case I was looking
forward to going back to nokia, might just trade my Sony K800i for
a C902 after reading these reviews though, well that or a 6500 slide/6301.

I got this phone as a free upgrade from orange,i really wanted an
N82 but orange have stopped doing it! so i got the 6220 classic.
Mixed emotions with this device, firstly i thought it felt nice
with big keys, but as i removed the back cover i was amazed at how
cheap and poor the cover was!!!!it felt like it would break! using
the phone imo was actually very nice mine did not creak or anything
and was very responsive (for symbian!)the camera was pretty dam
good but the video capture although good enough on the phones screen,
was poor when played on a tv, even at its highest setting. I did
not experience any problems until i had to take the cover off again
and on trying to put it back on the 2 catches completely bent and
the cover would not go back on which i had a feeling would happen.
I was very dissapointed with the materials on this phone as it lets
it down alot. Texting is very easy on this phone. I can not understand
why nokia is making phones with such poor materials, you can buy
a nokia 6300 for 60quid now which is excellent in terms of build
because its encased in metal. so why on a £300 (sim free) phone
is it made so cheap and poorly NOKIA!!!!! I have since traded the
phone in for an N82 as the cover problem put me off completely.
If it was not for this reason it would be an outstanding phone.
come on nokia you can build better phones than this cough cough

Had this phone a fortnight, excellent features, super lightweight.
Much faster operation than most other Symbian based phones. Even
the keypad isn't as bad as people are making out. HOWEVER, I've
had mine for a fortnight and the screen is broken. Sadly, it's going
back for an N95 (I miss the WLAN function of my now dead N80). If
Nokia can improve the build quality of this mobile they'd be onto

I had the phone for one week and that was enough.It does have lots
of features and lots of bugs too.... flash doesn't always work,battery
cover is poor,keypad is the worst i have ever had,GPS is a gimmick
and no more.People giving it a good review must have low expectations.I
agree with Tom .. Nokia mad a cracking phone with 6300,but seem
to have sold out to mass cheap manafacturing.... No build quality

To get your battery of to a 'good start' try the following:On receipt
of your 'phone use it 'till the battery goes so flat that you can't
even switch it on. Then leave it off and charge it for 16 hours.
I know it will be difficult (LOL)but leave the phone alone & off
for this 16 hours.Then for the next 3 charge /discharge cycles use
until totally flat but only charge until full. Then after that charge
(top up) as needed. Otherwise 6220C fantastic phone, on par if not
better than the likes of the N95 8gb & N82. I don't miss the wi-fi
since 'hotspots' here are not readily available & quite expensive.
GPS with Southern African maps excellent..screen a bit small but

Only got it yesterday, I got the LG Viewty on upgrade, hated it
sent it back. So glad I got the 6220, I'm hooked already, best phone
I've owned, stylish, simple & feature packed. Despite other reviews
about the casing, it's sleek & stylish, I've no complaints. I put
it in the clear casing and I LOVE IT ! The camera is fantastic.

I have to say this is the best phone i have ever had, and ive had
quite a few! The phone itself is faultless, decent music player,
truly amazing camera (i have sold my stand alone camera as it is
no longer needed). Excellent internet browser. And most importantly
of all it is super stable. Ok so the only slight niggle with this
device is the keypad, it could have been made better but it really

Nokia have dropped the ball with this phone . I have had Nokia for
over 5 years , the last 8 months put up with 6500 s ( must be worst
Nokia ever ! ) 4 replacements later got 6220 . Looks good battery
cover doesnt fit properly , cheap plastic back difficult to replace
after putting sim in . Had for 2 days sending back . Finished with

The phone is great. I have N95 and E90 - too bulky and heavy compared
to 6220. Feature wise, it is almost comparable to both phone except
for the lack of wifi. The OS is very stable. I havent had any crashes
since the day i bought it (almost a week tho) compared to my E90
(crashes and restarting all the time even after the new firmware).
The only problem that I had now is the keypad. The keypad look as
if it is falling apart. I hope Nokia can come up with a better keypad

This phone is slim and light, has a great camera, loads of features
and an easy to use, fast, stable operating system. However I really
can't recommend it because it feels so cheap and plasticky. The
keyboard is particularly annoying - it clicks and creaks and the
shortcut keys, menu key, 'c' key and the start and end calls keys
are far too close together so I often accidentally hit the wrong
keys when texting. Also the battery life is shocking, it has to
be charged nearly every day even with pretty moderate use. Rating:

come away from the phone and also constantly drops calls. its currently
in for repair and am hoping that my problems are solved. however
i agree with your review that its cheep plastic casing lets this

Has all the basic features and includes GPS. The GPS is not very
great, because it is very difficult to use and can put you off the
phone. Another off putting feature is that the buttons are alot
harder to press, I just dont know why they have done this. This
phone is very plastically and it does feel like it will fall apart
after a few weeks. Battery life is apalling and gets worse if use
the GPS. Good points are only that it is fairly simple to use(apart

You people are hard to make happy,i bet most of the people who give
this phone a bad review havent even read the manual how to operate
the phone.Its a symbian phone these phones differ from most handsets
on the market until you have read the manual worked out how exactley
to use the thing and set it up then review it.People saying they
vant send a tex message well trust me its not hard to send a tex
on any phone at all its very simple but if the tex isnt getting
there then theres a good chance its your network provider not the
phone maybe check you have the right settings installed on the phone
because i dont know of a single phone on the market that is hard
to send a tex.As for the build ok its not stainless steel its plastic
but it is a good solid plastic this phone will take a knock unlike
alot of sliders out there including the N95 that would smash to
a million pieces if you dropped one and probley not work again.Moans
about the camera flash only works when it wants to is nonsense if
you go into flash mode you can set the flash to on so it works on
every picture but if you leave it on auto and let the phone focus
by pressing half way it will then auto focus and decided weather
a flsh is needed its all very easy if you know how to use the phone.As
for the satnav to get the ball rolling you have to agree to the
terms whhen starting the satnav and if it still dont connect it
could be a network problem with your provider not the phone again.In
all this phone is spot on its alot cheaper than a N95 and has all
the features bar the wifi all my point is if you have never had
a symbian nokia type phone they do differ from a normal series s40
type nokia 6300 6500 etc read the manual and you cant go wrong its
a great nokia and dont be put off by some of these bad reviews cheers....

I had this fone bout 3 days fink the features are pretty sikk an
a nice lukin fone. BUT mine wudnt even do the basic tingz likin
makin a simple fone call end up getin cut off, randon noises whilst
in a convo or not even able 2 hear da oder person on da oder end.
so very disapointed tel ya da truth even though i woz waitin 4 a

I was talked into this phone as an upgrade and wished I'd never
bothered. First impression cheap and nasty and after attemping to
use it the same opinion, after being talked through for 1 hour by
technical support still could not get text message working. The
case is cheap, the keys are appaulling, by the time you have worked
through the menus you could quite happliy fall asleep. On a good
note the camera was exceptional but not good enough to rescue the
whole package. I am a Nokia user through and through and am truly

one thing not noted in the review or the comments but is in the
user guide (downloadable from Nokia): if you change any options
for the camera (white balance, EV, ISO, flash always on or off,
etc.) the changes are lost when you turn the camera off - everyone
reverts to default settings. fine, this unit is a phone, but who

I recieved this phone yesterday and I am already dissapointed with
the feel and features...I haven't been able to send a text or use
the maps as it won't connect. The flash on the camera works speradically
and the lense cover keeps falling open...I found the keyboard ok.
When handling the phone during a call I had an odd beeping sound
whenever I adjust my finger possition. Overall I am dissapointed
and will be returning this phone and selecting something with a

Maybe im just a really clever person or just lucky but i dont find
taking the cover of this phone hard at all or removing the battery
as a few people have put in there reviews.Ok its not stainless steal
or reinforced plastic but its still pretty solid i know if i dropped
ythe 6220 theres a good chance it will be ok,but if i dropped my
old N95 it would be in pieces so for me the 6220 is solid.The size
is also good slim and light in weight and pretty good looking.As
for the features well its got the lot awsome camera,satnav,talking
tex and plenty more.Its faster and it dont crash if you have 2 other
programes running at once.They have also sorted the little simple
things like full screen picture caller id and auto keypad lock.Theres
a video outlet and data port which works well.In all a real smart
phone that i havent had one problem with and i have had mine 2 weeks.In
all a well put togeather phone with a really good camera nice one

This is a great phone and i have tryed many nokias i havent been
a fan of the symbian O/S but this is a far better phone to use than
the N-series phones.Its a lot faster and responsive to date i have
no crashes or frezze ups like the older N95,N73,N80 ETC ETC.They
have also sorted the full screen picture caller id and a timed keylock
i noticed which is far better.The interface is just the same as
a N95 but runs alot faster no hang ups and even with a few programes
still running in the back ground works sweet.The gps is cool to
fast to load and runs well i have only used it twice got me where
i wanted to go.The speaker is very clear when playing music its
not as bassie as it could be but still clear and loud.Ok its has
no wifi but i use a computer for the internet anyway so no loss
there and i have herd a few ppl say it dont tell you how many texs
youve sent etc wow big deal who needs to count there texs i get
200 free ones anyway.Next is the build ok it dont feel like a house
brick in ure hand and its plastic or what ever they use today but
it still feels solid and if you dropped the phone it would not shatter
into 10,000 pieces like plenty of phones do.The keypad is good a
little stiff at first but once you start to use it seems to losen
up abit the center navigation key works well also.The real gem on
this phone for me is the camera its spot on really crisp pictures
and the auto focus is very good really bright flash aswell.Videos
are great very clear and sharp and the sound is also really good
when recording.I think that this is the next best thing to a N95
whch i also like but i prefer candy bar type phone instaed of a
slide.In all packed with features really good camera and if your
not a symbian fan this would swing you cheers ;0) Rating:

Mostly solid feel but REALLY plasticy keypad - the worst feature
of the phone. The camera slider on the back isnt much better, and
while I'm whinging the photos do look a bit washed out. That aside,
its a light gps enabled (which works very well) 5mp smartphone with
decent (not amazing) battery life, a good selection of apps and
features due to the symbian os, and 30fps video recording! The pros
are equal to the cons on this one. Had a N73 before and in hindsight

Read the review below, and I must say not had the problems that
person and some others have had. Granted it does look plasticky
but it does feel solid. The battery life is great if using as normal
ie texts and calls - I can easily get 4-5 days usage out of it.
I have used GPS (4hrs +) and camera then battery only lasts about
12 hrs (well it did for me!). Camera and video are great compared
to my previous SE K800i. I love this phone!! Rating:

Contrary to popular opinion I have found this phone very good. The
smaller keys take a little getting used to but saying that most
phones do anyway. The main problem I found the first day was battery
usage, however, I have since realized that I was not closing down
then separate programs on the phone. I now close them down after
use and find very little battery use because the biggest program
is the built in sat nav. overall 5 out of 5 Rating:

I would recomend to everyone that never to buy this set and instead
of buying it donate that money to some charity.... This set keeps
working fine until its charger is plugged in...battery timing is
rubbish...standby time is not more than 12 hours....talk time is
less than 1 hour. Features are ok but GPS will gna cost you money

Its a very poor Nokia... Having to mod the keypad when you get it
to get touch and feel correct! No QC in what ever country these
have been made.I had on for a week on orange lots of problems,texting
didnt work,gps locked up,phone locked up,back cover and battery
problems... It is a poor effort from nokia!(I only buy nokia).Going
to get it changed for an N82 even though I dont like the N82 small

OK. For those of you who want something that works brilliantly out
of the box this isn't really it. To get the best out of it you need
to tweak a few things. And if you do that you've effectively got
a portable N95 and its really good. Problem is I think nokia didn't
want to steal customers from its top of the line n series range
so didn't spend the time setting it up properly. Out of the box
the keypads noisy, unresponsive and clicky, the camera shots are
rather soft, music sounds good but not optimum. I'll start with
the bad. The keypad. Out of the box its pretty horrid. Feels cheap
and clicks very loudly. However it does come off easily. Not suprised
it didn't bother a k800 owner as that was my last phone and that
also had a bad keypad. It just unclips from top left if you pull
it. I inserted some small bits of cut out paper inbetween the keypad
(a peace one for number keys, one for top four buttons - if you
use the same one you'll get a number 2 every time you press down),
and where the keypad rests to soften it a little and its now a gem
to use! Not only is it quiet but its more responsive and I can type
using predictive text almost as fast as I can on my PC. You shouldn't
need to tweak about with stuff like that to use a phone though so
hence only a 4 star rating. Camera's very good, particularly if
you use manual settings and increase sharpness and select cloudy
as white balance. Sadly need to select your preset everytime you
use the camera (can save all settings as custom so only a matter
of 2 clicks. Music player is brilliant and sounds good through speaker
too if you increase the bass. Some say this phones unreponsive and
there's a delay when doing stuff. There isn't. The menu's fade in
and out in order to look classy. This looks good but might annoy
some. A bit like vista aero. Personally I like it. Connectivity
is great and email/internet worked straight out of the box without
needing to do anything but accept a couple of o2 messages when I
turned it on. This phone has just about everything but wifi so its
really good. Phone quality and ease of texting are good. Yet to
freeze or crash, GPS seems brilliant. It finds where I am inside!
I'll try it soon. If nokia put a decent keypad on it and allowed
the camera to start up set on custom rather than auto I'd give it
5 stars. As it is its a great buy and probably deserves 4 and a

Very impressed with this phone although getting the battery cover
off first time was difficult. The GPS is a great extra function
and works well. I was also very impressed with the speed of the
menus loading as this is a S60 phone, i was expecting it to lag
or freeze but so far this hasnt happened. The menu effects are also
great and makes the menus look slicker. The only downside for me
is the keypad as it is too stiff and is not to my taste in terms
of travel depth and also the * and # keys are too near the edge
and too small (locking the keypad is very awkward). Overall this
is an excellent phone apart from the keypad! Rating:

People who are giving this 4/5 stars must be easily fooled.I had

loved the camera, but have just had to send it back after only 2
days as the hash key lifted as did some of the other keys. extremely
flimsy phone, especially when taking the back off to insert the
battery and slide the sim in. which again is very awkward when having
to get the sim back out. the worse thing was the battery life -
had to charge after only 14 hours and that was with minimual use!

Delighted with this phone when I got it - easy to use, great camera
- picture quality fantastic for a mobile. Very dissapointed when
I found I could not send texts. Was told I had a faulty phone with
software problems. Got a replacement handset only to find it had

Had the phone 10 days. - Love the camera, but the lens opens in
pocket. - Locking the keypad is driving me nuts, keep getting the
alternate camera. - GPS is hard work. - Actually, the whole keypad

I read the mixed reviews below before I took the plunge and bought
one!I will be honest its feature packed .... but the the comments
on poor feel and build quality are true.I dont think it will last
long term,the keypad feel like a cheap remote control unit on dvd
player,it feels like it going to fall apart.The camera is good,gps
seems to work well and no problems with the apps.It just has a budget
plastic feels to it...I think my advice would be to go for the N82
if you want a 5mgpxl and Gps phone Rating:

I just upgraded to this phone, having had a Sony Ericsson K800i
for the last 18 months. This phone is such a relief in comparison!
Nokia's are easy to navigate, with intuitive menu design and simple
buttons. The camera is of a good quality (I'd be happy to use it
instead of a digital camera) and there is a huge choice of extra
features and applications on this phone - it has Sat Nav, Voice
Recognition, Document Readers etc etc. Some reviewers have commented
on the plasticy, light-weight feel of the handset. This has not
struck me as a problem at all. Yes, the casing does feel very light
and flimsy when you take it off to insert the battery. But, when
you hold the phone, it feels light and sturdy - and a bit flash
too. I am really pleased with the sleekness of the design, the range
of functions, the clearness of the screen - and most of all how
easy it is to use! Rating:

Have had this phone for two weeks now. It is superb. Having switched
to Samsung (big mistake) I am glad to be back in the safe hands
of Nokia. The key features I like in a phone are all captured in
this phone (good call quality, ease of use, good battery life and
connectivity). Then there are the added bonuses of the Sat-Nav (3months
trial), 5mp camera and flash. Plus when you take the upgrade, get
unlimited web browsing, as this phone is super fast. The Sat-Nav
is accurate and very quick. The instructions are loud and clear
and has got me around today with out any problems. Overall, fantastic
phone from Nokia and worthy of 5 stars. Rating:

It does feel too plastic and flimsy sometimes and the keyboard isn't
great. But feature-wise it is very balanced. Ok photos, fast GPS.
Nokia Maps 2.0 tends to lock up a lot so it's almost unusable, at
least with the first 6220 firmware version. But the hardware seems
ok. I'm not fully happy but overall it is a well balanced product
with better value for money than an N95 or similar. Rating:

I returned this phone, the keypad is awful to text with and the
phone felt very plastic. Phone kept dropping calls, freezing and
calendar alarms wouldn't go off. Camera is meant to be great but
my flash only worked when it felt like it and the software was very
slow. Perhaps a dud phone, has anyone else had these problems? Overall
I was quite disappointed as at first glance the phone looked great,
always been a Nokia fan. Rating:

I have had the 6220 Classic for a couple of weeks now and have been
mightily impressed. I bought this as a replacement for a SE C902
that was poor in many ways. Straight from the off I was impressed.
The keypad is excellent, texting is swift and easy, the navigation
pad is sure and precise. All the buttons give good feedback. Call
quality has been excellent and very clear too which covers the 2
major functions of the phone. The menu offers a vast array of activities
most of which would probably never get touched but may appeal to
the individual. Camera quality is on a par with the best that Nokia
offers which in my opinion is better than the rest but prospective
buyers can always find comparison pics by internet searches. Build
quality is relatively good although the silver band around the outside
is slightly loose on mine but to no significant level. Internet
connection is very rapid thanks to the HSPDA. There are some ways
to personalise your phone (MP3 ringtones, message alerts, varying
themes etc.) all of which can be stored on a removable Micro SD
card (I have an 8 gig in mine). The only bugbear with personalisation
is that wallpapers have tops and bottoms cut off by the theme. My
only other problem is that the maps function will not connect but
this is something I would rarely use anyway. The size and weight
is pleasing too, it fits comfortably in the hand and in a jeans
pocket too. All in all recommended if you only use basic functions
and also recommended if you use high end functions. An all round

Dont bother with this phone! Its plastic feel,keypad horrible to
press,it feels like it going to fall apart when you text.GPS locked
up and a few times and had a habbit of being mile or so out on directions...
Camera is ok,in fact no bad at all.Would I buy it again? No way

Firstly a 90 Gram phone packed with amazing features, thats pretty
darn good to me! Now onto the rest.... Why is there always a whinger
in the pack (No names mentioned.. Tobias!!) 3 Things you need to
know a phone can do... 1. Make and receive calls! 2. Make and receive
texts! 3. Take pretty damn good pics! Anything after that is a bonus!
Its like.. its compact and I agree with the other reviews it packs
in alot of the N Series yet no comrpomise is made with the features
it does pack in as with the N Series have. It's not rocket science,
the smaller the phone the more difficult is it to pack more features
in. Some people are never happy! Not tried the video quality so
cannot comment but the phone is superb. For those who want to do
all that a PC does.. get a grip, you either work with a PC at home
or work, a phone is just that, just be greatful is small, compact
and feature right for a 5 Megapixel phone, with that in mind you

One of the best phones I have ever had. You would not believe the
amount of features that its got, especially as it not a "N Series"
phone. The camera is great and video footage is top quality. The
voice recognition is very advanced (Plus it actually works!!). The
Menus are very smooth with lovely transitions between screens. It
comes with a 1gb card but in thoery can take up to 12gb! I havent
played with the GPS however so I cant comment on that. This phone
does everything u would want plus more. Get this phone, u wont be

Have had the N95 and the N78 ,took both back and am absolutely over
the moon with this phone,It doesnt have the complex avenues of a
lot of the new feature phones,but does all you need in a simple
way.Contains most of the software from the N series but has the
simplisitic ambience of the 6300. Full of new suprises .I am really
pleased with this phone.Ok it doesnt have solidness of some phones,
but it still feels sturdy although very light.Another thing I like
is the fact that it fits in one hand. The only diwn side I could
find if I look hard is that the back seems to come off a little
too easily. But all in all I would highly recommend it Rating:

I have had it two days! Its ok... that about sums it up.It fits
in my pocket,camera is ok(not brill)GPS so so! Menu system very
slow,plastic to touch and feel.. But good deels can be had for free
and that makes it ok... It does have Geo tag!N95 8gb can be had
for the same money at the moment.. I would choose the n95 Rating:
