The Nokia 5200 looks almost the same as its big
brother, the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic.
Although the 5200 doesn't carry the XpressMusic branding, it's clearly
designed as another music player phone, but is a mid-range phone
targeted at the more budget-conscious consumer.
It's a slide design phone that looks much like
the Nokia 6111. Nokia have improved
the design of their slide phones recently and this one slides well.
It's a nicely sized phone - the same size as the 5300 XpressMusic
and a few grams lighter. The 5-way navigation key works nicely and
there are dedicated camera and radio keys on the side for easy access
to these functions. The volume keys on the side double up as zoom
keys when the camera is in use. The display is not as good as the
screen on the 5300, but is excellent when compared with other phones
in this price range. The keypad slides down nicely and is very easy
to use.
The 5200 comes with a good range of functions.
The camera is of relatively poor quality - just VGA resolution (0.3
megapixels), but it does the job. The music player supports most
common formats and is of good quality. There is also a stereo FM
radio. The Nokia Stereo Headset HS-47 is included in the sales package
and you can plug in your own headphones via the new 2.5mm Nokia
AV connector which can accept regular-sized 3.5mm headphones via
an adaptor.
No memory card is supplied in the sales package
but the memory can be expanded to 2 Gbytes (enough to store 1,500
songs) with a MicroSD memory card. Connectivity includes Bluetooth
2.0, mini-USB and infrared. Battery life is average.
The 5200 is worth considering as an alternative
to the 5300 XpressMusic
if money is tight, and is a good mid-range phone. Its main weaknesses
are the poor quality camera and the lack of a memory card in the
sales package. Still, if you're looking for a user-friendly phone
in a compact design with good music capabilities, the 5200 may be
your phone.

I got a brand new nokia 5200 at chennai on 18th april and in 2 days
I found the following - No incoming voice when I use headest because
there was some fault in some IC and I got the phone repaired from
nokia care centre just today after 15 days of service. - Mobile
resets sometimes when I use bluetooth to transfer files - incoming
voice clarity is not good My suggestion is " NEVER GET A NOKIA 5200"

One of the greatest phones of Nokia ever. The features are really
cool. The sound is fantastic and the camera is too good to be a
VGA. It is one of the coolest phone available at this price. Infact,
it has almost the same features as the 5300 which comes in at a
higher price tag. If you want a allrounder phone at a reasonable

I bought this phone about two months ago - it had exactly the features
I was looking for; I actually spent several months researching different
phones that had the features I needed in a phone. A very affordable
phone, but works like a dream. Software updates and connectivity
to a computer leave nothing to hope for - it's pretty great after
struggling two years with a Siemens... All in all, a fantastic phone
if you are a regular mp3-player listener, like to listen to the
radio occasionally as well, and don't want to go around with several

Hi,it is a very good phone. The colours and features are cool.Infact,
my lovely husband (Pius )bought it for me as a surprise gift,three
months ago.Anybody who sights the phone says your phone is fine.The

ive had this phone now for a week, its reallly really good -except

I've had many phones in the past, but not one has been as much fun
& been as useful as the Nokia 5200. You have lots of memory potential,
up to 2GB so far is possible. I've only got the free 256MB card
it came with, but I've managed to download over 100 free Java games,
proper 3D video games on your little Nokia! Those 100 games has
only used a tiny 18MB so still have loads of room for music, video
& photos. If I decide to get a 2GB card, well that's absolutely
loads of stuff on a tiny phone. If you want free games just Google
search for jar files, I am still finding them now. The only fault
I can find with it is, the camera is poor, & video just acceptable.
But if you're downloading video clips & playing them back, then
the playback quality is perfect. Well all you have to do now is
go & buy it, make sure you get yourself a USB lead so you can get
your music & games downloaded onto it once you've been to the Nokia
site & downloaded Nokia PC Suit that is! If you go shopping at Tesco's
in the UK, they are doing them at £54.97. That's £25 off the original
price. But only if you spend £20.00 on shopping or air time top-up
I think. I hope my review as helped some of you decide to go out
& get one of these excellent phones. Rating:

WOW this is a cool phone. i looked on the reviews of alot of phones
before i bought this one the nokia 5200 and i think its really good.
i bought mine for about £30.00 off the virgin website, BUT... i
did have £30.00 up grade off ma next phone and then it came with
£30.00 free airtime so yer i only spent like £30.00 on it or so!!
its realy gd although i need to go out and find a memory card for
it! coz i wanna put more tunes on it! the camra is not so gd but
like other ppl said it does not matter it takes a resonable pic.
the vidio is good (with sound no less!) but the music quality is
MAGIC! outstanding ok lets look at the style of the phone, Its small
a bit chunky monkey but who cares you can get bigger! RED is cool
for da girls but i did want blue! he he!!! mmmm i dont nkow what
to say more. oh yer the back is hard to get off to get to the batry
but at least you nkow its not going to fall off any time soon! i
found that the red part on ma phone gets a bit durty but you can
wipe it with white spirit!!! the RADIO is AMAZING but unfortunatly
you have to have the headphones on all the time to use it!! but
you can put it on load speaker which is a bonus! a must have phone
and i have had it since b4 christmas 2006!! i got go now and charge
it! as going on holiday with me! hehe! (battry life is good) hope

I got this phone for my birthday and I absolutely love it, although
I would recommend buying a memory card with it (amazon.com is cheapest).

pros: i just had this phone for couple of weeks. and i'd say this
is an excellent phone. it has all the necessary functions with a
reasonable price, and is very user-friendly. the slide and style
is very cool and i love it! though it has only 5 mb of phone memory,
i've gotten a 512 mb micro sd card, so the memory capacity isnt
really the problem here. so im really satisfied with this phone.

Must agree with all the positive reviews below. This phone is great
value for money with a simple,easy to navigate menu and more feature
than you would expect for a phone which retails for less than £100
from most service providers. The only shortfall is the camera which
is VGA but still pretty good - I can't see a massive difference
between this camera and the 1.2Mpix one on the Nokia 6111 which
is a similar phone but costs more. It's a little chunky but it is
reliable and looks good. You may want to expand the memory a bit
but no doubt you have an excellent phone in the 5200. Screen display
is really nice & video is not bad either - VALUE 4 MONEY thru &

Nice phone, good size, looks good, compact etc. Good luck in getting
the back off when you put in the battery/SIM though! Ring tones
OK, although not awe inspiring. Keypad and directional keys fine.
Battery time good, options good. As for those people moaning about
the camera-buy a camera if you want one that badly-its a phone people!
Or do you go out and buy a washing machine then complain because
the attached microwave is not up to scratch-FFS! The camera is a
"fun" attachment, thats all, this is primarily a comunications device-mind
you, you'll all soon be whinging because it won't make your breakfast
for you I suspect-Get a life and fast. No, the camera is not brilliant,
but so what? Its a good mid-price phone, nice looking and does the
job. Its not a work of art but its tyoical Nokia, does what it says
on the tin. If you just want a good mobile, get it, if you want

I thought I'd give this phone the benefit of the doubt, as i've
always had Nokia phones... But boy was I wrong! Where shall I start?
It's only 5MB memory - without a memory card you can only have 1
tack on it! (and they say it's a music phone). The text message
function is useless and does not let you delete words that are spelt
wrong without the text message function closing down. The camera
is worse than my Nokia 6230 and the screen freezes all the time.
So after all that I've now decided to go over to sony ericson...
The PROPER music phone!! Whether you decide to buy this pile of
rubbish is up to you, you might get along with it... But I didnt....

I got this phone for £90 and it has been the best bargain ever !
I have up to 8 days standby time with minimal use and a solid 5
days with frequent use. The menu is true easy to use Nokia and the
phone has loads of features I haven't even explored fully yet. The
memory is small but can be expanded. The quality of the camera is
above average for a VGA and screen colur & resolution are excellent.
The music player is a quality better than you will expect in a low
price phone (the 5300 is twice the price) and this phone beats the
6111 hands down. Good value for money & easy to use. welcome back
Nokia !! I chucked my Sony Ericsson for this and have no regrets. Rating:

halo there!!!! i recieved fone yesterday,nd very poor sad quality...
i reli need to take this ^piece of junk back!! i reli can't stand
it, nd hey, ' cool dude, from dude town' this fone ain't got 2 megs
camera!!!! its soo bad,nd all lights,it dont matter where u are!!
i hav nvr been soo dissapointed wiv a fone,bt this fone is reli
unexceptable... i am bein serious, this fone ain't anything... nd
i am very supprised tht its made by nokia, cauz like the nokia n73
for me, nd i hav to say for every1, is the fone of the season...
its got the best everything,expecially camera, nd the music player
is reli amazing to,i ain't jokin! but bak to this piece of junk,the
5200, jst dont get the bad quality piece of real trash... a real
disappointment...thts all u can say bout this. :( I would say the
music player is ok,certainly nt gr8,nd sound quality is ok,but very
blurry!!!! a very big shame,wiv this ultimate trash tool. Rating:

hello there!!! do u now what phone i am reviewing well the phone
i'm am reviewing is one of the best in the world this time u have
to belive me on this 1 cause 2 meg camera and if u like 2 listen
2 the radio then get this phone!!! cause u can download 400+ songs
on this phone and ignore people who say this phone is rubbish (my
brother) cause it is the most reliable phone i've only had 2 phones
the first was one of the worst phone ever but now i've got this
evryone is so jealous of me so,if u don't wont 2 be jeallous of
me then get it it is your only choice get this phone and be a cool
dude or dont get it and be a sad,lonely loser! AND IF U WANT 2 GET
ONE GET IT IN BLEU SO MUCH COOLER!!!by the way the im reviewing
is the NOKIA 5200 U NOW WHAT 2 GET SO WHAT R U WAITING FOR SO GET

Finally nokia comes to the music world. It's an oustanding phone
with heavy features considering the price. Music is brilliant, ringtones
are of great quality. Connectivity at it's best. Go for it nowwwwwwwww!
