Nokia 3310 Review

Phone rating:

The Nokia 3310 has been one of the most popular mobiles of all time, so it seems mean to award it just one star. However, the truth is that the 3310 cannot compare with modern phones: it's big and heavy, has hardly any features, mediocre battery life, and is not as reliable as many people would like to believe. The newer Nokia 3100 is a much better choice.

Features of the Nokia 3310 include:

  • Predictive text messaging
  • 35 ringtones plus ringtone composer plus customisable ringtones
  • Voice activated dialling
  • Data capability
  • Downloadable games
  • Animated screen savers
  • Changeable front and back covers
  • Size: 113 x 48 x 22 mm
  • Weight: 133g
  • Battery standby: 55 - 260 hours
  • Battery talktime: 2.5 - 4.5 hours
  • Vibration alert
  • Dual band

Great little phone, had mine a few months now - no complaints whatsoever. Considering it's size and cost, it's very comparable to a lot of the similar (but a lot more expensive) phones in its class. This phone also has heaps of style, so you can customise it to look just about however you want - business, sophisticated, fun.. etc. Definately one to consider if upgrading - and a lot more reliable that those flip phones!!

theres nothing really that exciting about this phone, ive had it for about 3 years because i havent had the chance to afford a better one. it takes ages to open messages, it thinks for a long while, and its getting worse too. the phone weighs a heap, and its pretty bulky for today, its annoying to carry around. if i was an electronic dummy getting a first mobile, i'd get this one, because it is so basic and "user friendly". but otherwise, i wouldnt recommend getting this phone.

id say this phone was very ahead of its time when it first came out. it was slightly bulkier than the 8210, but alot cheaper and was in fact decent value. had some really cool features, including the profiles and the screensaver pictures, which were things that other affordable nokias lacked at the time. i havent used this phone for 3 years and have had about 5 handsets since then. i can honestly say that this was the phone i really did appreciate at the time of owning it.

I had a Nokia 3310 for 2 years and replaced it with a samsung A800 last christmas. The Nokia 3310 is a classic phone. Its good features are : long lasting battery, extremely easy to use, changeable phone covers. It can`t be a bad phone if people still use them surely? It never let me down once. I would say this a good phone for anyone who doesnt use there phone much or wants a simple phone. If they still them, do they?? Its a good phone but unfortunatly i think its days will be over this time next year - but what a classic phone!!

Here's the thing. This phone is a great phone, basiclly just a workhorse you know? Weighs an absolute tonne and has vitually no modern features. I have had mine for 4 years and I'm upgrading. Anyone considering buying this phone should opt for something a little more modern because this thing is a dinosaur. If however you do want to go as cheap as possible beware. The charger blows after a couple of years and doesnt work, and screen WILL crack and nokia WONT replace it and it WILL delete names and stuff unexpectably. A very Nice phone, which was extreamly practable in 2001 but in todays world it should only really be bought as an antique.

Mine has taken a lickin' and kept on tickin' for 2.5 years now - earning itslef the nickname Old Faithful. OK, it's not a gadget freak's phone - it only does the basics but does them very well. The almost infinite customisability (is that a word?! :p ) of it just adds to its charm - I've had every kind of cover you could imagine, from Harry Potter to my posh work ones! Solid, reliable entry level phone - well done Nokia!

I had this phone for 3 years and still goin strong. After countless times of dropping it off my doubledecker bed, contact with water, it still works perfectly! There were occasional glitches like "hanging", but it happens very rarely. Very easy to use compared to other phones during its launch. Heck, my gramma can use it perfectly! In conclusion, a very loyal phone...if you bought it from an authorised Nokia dealer!

No matter what others say, this is one of the best phones available for now. Nokia has the best software for phones and that's why it's very reliable, also the menus are great. This phone gives you the feeling of reliability and it is also functional, and it is kinda cheap. I had lots of phones and this is one of the best. Changeable covers, good ringtones so if you want to get a good phone don't hesitate. For a better feeling try changing the plastic buttons with rubber ones (those that look like the 3410's)... mail me!

Even bought new batteries to see if it was that, but they are still as bad and not worth the time and money. Best place for them is the bin. Got a siemens A55 given and it seems to be good and at least hasn't cut out.

Okay... I know EVERYONE'S got this phone and it's one of the most popular choices. But the covers are changeable so you can change the style of your phone as many times as you want. The ringtones are quite good and there's loads to choose from and you can also compose your own. Also there are some reasonably good games incase your bored...really bored! (Actually I'm addicted to snake but hey!) And you can have pictures as your screensaver. So what I'm trying to say is that it's a popular choice because it's one of the most reliable phones i've ever owned (and god have i owned a lot of phones) and when dropped it still works, ive dropped mine about 5 times in the last few days and the case came off but no damage! All in all, this is a good phone! Buy it if you want something simple and reliable.

Such as, Text messaging, ringing other people and Games. the games are great, you can play Snake 2, Space impact, Bantumi and pairs 2. You can compose your own ringtones and go on a website called www.mrtones.com to get free ringtones. you get loads of cool ringtones such as, merry xmas and loads of cool ones. The screensavers aren't very good but if your looking for a phone that's pure and simple. Just get the nokia 3310, with an amount of 15 buttons to compare with.

I have dropped it quite a few times and it works fine although about once a week the screen goes a little fadded, but all i do is hit it and it goes back to normal. Vodafone sent me a handsfree head set for my 3310, but, even though the phone hasn't been for a swim its been 'water damaged' and the hands free wont work. There is a slight software bug in the menu numbering system, it misses 13 and goes on to 14 for the sim2 service, and there is no numbering for the sim2 services. A nice phone that fits in your levi's pocket.

The nokia 3310 is a great little reliable phone, I have had mine since xmas 2001 and it has never failed me. In wales you get brilliant signal on orange (not so good on my mates vodafone) Definately a good phone for beginners and for people on a budget, it isnt out of fashion as far as im concerned as most the pupils in my school have this one! Im upgrading to either an sony ericsson p400 or t610 or possibly a samsung v200 for christmass yay! Its only downfall as far as im concerned is it has frozen while browsing pictue messages once or twice (my fault for flicking through them quickly so as soon as it has loaded up im on the next picture!) Only reason im updating is because im looking for a nice camera phone and cause my older sister is having this one off me! this phone is very usefull on battery time as well as i can go for 4 days without charging it!!!! would have been nice if there was more room ofr messages!

I've had this phone for over 2 years now and have had no problems whatsoever with it. It's a great, basic phone and if you dont want all those fancy features then go for this one. My only complaint is that it only holds 10 texts, which if you send/receive a lot each day your constantly having to delete messages, tho this is only a minor complaint. 5 stars from me because, even tho its very basic, it does what it does well. The only reason I'm going to upgrade soon is simply because I want a camera phone. But if your wanting a good basic phone, perhaps a first phone, then go for the 3310.

This phone is 100% quality. Lets face it wot do u realy need a fone for, texting and making and recieving calls, not all these useless feutures u see on the new phones. The 3310 is the best for makin calls and texts, its so simple to use 1 button does everything even my nan could use it. IT doesnt look that bad either and if you really want ther are thousands of covers you can get for it. Its not to big, its not to small and the price is fantastic. There is no need to be ripped off with prices up to £300 for useless feutures such as bluetooth, cmaeras...etc.

I have several complaints about text messaging..for you who use text message...this can be unreliable at times because of weak signal at times and can only support up to 460 characters or so. Also, unreliable to deliver more than 300 characters depend on the signal. Some people didnt get my long msgs...mostly short ones. And also the short battry life too. This is still pretty good and cheap.

I've had this phone for two years now. I'll soon be upgrading, probably to the 6610. Anyway, overall the phone has been great. Its definitely user friendly, as most Nokia's are. The phone has all the functions most people would need, I'd still recommend this phone today for people new to phones eg grandparents/kids etc. The phone is quite durable; I've dropped mine numerous times and for the most part it keeps on functioning as normal. I did happen to break the screen once when I dropped it on the road, but I think that was just bad luck. Although the screen was cracked, the phone continued to operate! As others have found, batterly life can deplete quite quickly, but replacement batteries are relatively cheap. If your phone came with a Nickel Metal Hydride battery, replace it with a Lithium Ion battery. Definitely improved performance from Li-Ion batteries. The phone is great. Its not the most stylish out there, and if you want the latest and greatest model, this isn't your thing. BUT, if you want a good phone that is reliable and damn easy to use, you can't go past the Nokia 3310.

I have had my phone now just over two years and the only critism I would have is the battery life. I have now replaced it with a longer life battery and it only needs charging once or twice a week instead of every other day. Other than that it does everything I could want from a phone and I can even send ring tones to other nokia phones which you can't do from the 3330 as there is no composer on it. I think that this is also the case on some of the newer Nokia phones. Overall, I am really happy and have no intention of changing it in the near future.
