The Nokia 2630 is a superslim, ultra-lightweight
phone that's cheap to buy and has a built-in FM radio.
However, it has a rubbish camera, a rubbish screen,
nasty ringtones, limited connectivity (Bluetooth only), not much
memory (enough for an MP3 ringtone and a few photos), and is only
dual band.
Also, beware of buying the Nokia 2630 on O2, as
there appears to be a problem with the phone crashing every time
a call is missed. This problem seems to apply to the O2 network
only.

7 or 8 tx's a day[& they are only tx's not essays] but that should'nt
drain the battery as quickly as it do'es.i charge it for 12/14 hrs

Hi - I am having the same problem with freezing - only if I try
to answer the call and it terminates to go to Voicemail and the
handset tries to lock the keypad. All these things have to happen
at the same time. I have to remove the battery and replace it and
turn the phone on again to be able to use it. I've only had the
phone a couple of months and this has happened 3-4 times. Id am
planning to return it and replace it with something else, as it's
just not good enough to have to take the phone out of the case and
take the battery out every time this happens. I thought the Nokias
were quite reliable - never had any problems with my previous Samsungs!
In all other respects the phone is quite good value for money. Rating:

I bought this phone on O2 pay & go for my Mum as I thought it would
be an easy phone for her to use. It had the same problems that others
have reported - the first handset shut down if you went into the
drafts file in the text folder so I sent it back and got a replacement.
This then had the other problem of "freezing" when a call goes to
voicemail with the keypad locked and the credit balance text alert
cmae through. All in all I have had 7 handsets with this fault -
I've finally got Nokia (via the carphone warehouse) to agree to
give me an alternative handset - I'm getting the Nokia 6300 and
the reviews on this phone seem much better so fingeres crossed!!
Bottom line - with my expreience, I would say don't bother with
the 2630 - and I'm highly surprised Nokia are still sending them
out - sort it out Nokia! Rating:

I love this phone, it has all the essential features and is really
slim. However, mine keeps hanging if I get a missed call and you
have to take the battery out to restart it, if you disconnect it
really briefly though, you do not have to reset the time and date
normally! Its been back to O2 and supposedly fixed, but the software
version is still the same and the problem has not gone away. I'm
seriously considering changing it now, loads of people have reported
the same issue, I do not think its a priority for Nokia as there
appears to be no fix yet. I've had it for 5 months now. Otherwise
the phone would get 5 stars easily, one of the best nokias in recent

I have this phone from 3 months and I am not satisfied with it.
Why? For two main reasons: 1. the sound quality is very poor, compared
to other Nokia, Sony-Ericsson or Siemens phones I've had before.
2. the battery "dies" in 48 hours if I'm speaking only 30-40 minutes
a day. Even if it's a cheap phone, you can find better phones at

Seriously folks - all of you that complain about this phone for
being low in features - what do you expect? It's exactly as advertised!
It's a shame some of you have had locking problems - but this can
happen with good phones. A firmware patch should sort that. WHY
DID I BUY THIS PHONE? ------------------------- Simple - I spent
years chasing the new features like bluetooth and mp3 players and
4MP cameras and synching and blah blah. What do I use my phone for?
Storing numbers, making calls and sending texts. All those bells
and whistles lose their novelty appeal very quickly. I have a beefier
phone from work with all that stuff on it, but I need a phone for
home use. Carrying my new N95 and my old reliable 6310 was too bulky
- especially being a bloke and not having a handbag to shove it
in ;) The 2630 is INEXPENSIVE (yes, it is a budget model) but most
importantly of all, it's unique selling point is how LIGHTWEIGHT
and SLIM it is. VERDICT ======= Above all else, if you want a mobile
for basic use that is light, this is the phone you must buy. End
of story ;) No, the screen is not the best but I only want to make
calls and read texts. It is capable of both of those things. The
ringtones seem fine to me (but then I'm not a teenager who enjoys
broadcasting their ringtones to all and sundry - ringtone lets me
know someone want to speak to me so i answer...) Poor camera - ok,
so it is very occasionally useful to be able to snap a quick picture
with your phone. That said, if there's a desperate need then I'll
make do with the one on this phone. Otherwise, get this: I'll use
my digital camera. Low memory - well that's ok - i knew what i was
buying so i knew i wouldn't be using my budget phone like a PDA
so that's no biggie. I'll delete my texts when I've read them. In
short - I made an informed decision and this phone does what I bought
it for. Rating:

hang if a call is missed while the key pad is locked. Sent both
phones to O2 for repair, when they were "repaired" the problem was
still not fixed. Sent both phones back to O2 again, this time one
of the phones was replaced with new 2630 which seems to work OK,
but the replacement for the second phone still has the same problem.
Have now sent the 2nd phone (the non working replacemtn) back to
O2 yet again to have this problem sorted out and am still waiting...
I read on another internet site that this is a problem with 2630

Had this phone for 2 months now. Looks gorgeous, is super-slim and
light, a good price, packed full of features, very easy to use key-pad
with a nice 'feel' to it. I don't understand why other people have
such a problem with this phone? It's never frozen on me, and the
screen has never gone blank, the screen is actually very bright
- so much so that I use it for a tortch quite often. I've uploaded
plenty of games and apps to my phone, and often use it to play games.
It's also my personal organiser - the calendar has many features.
It does lack storage; that's the only bad thing, but if you're not
planning to load it up with lots of MP3s then this really isn't
a problem. If you want a hand-held computer, then buy a chunky E60
or something. If you want a slim phone with features you'd expect
in a modern phone (not a computer) then get this, you won't be sorry.

it. Super-thin, decent camera for a VGA, lots of customisation options,
clever and intuitive (but slow) interface, and some very nice touches
that other phones don't have. However, the battery life is poor.
Sure, there are worse phones, but I can't get it to last two days,
with about 30 minutes of calls each day. Initially I thought it
might take a few charges to get optimum life out of it, but in two
weeks I've had to charge it 9 times. Not good. The battery is a
BL-4BA battery but also takes BL-4B, which I think has slightly
higher capacity. But I can't see it improving the performance enough
to be worthwhile, so I'll be returning this phone for something

It will be my last ever Nokia. This one is a complete waste of money,
and it wasn't cheap. Its SLOW SLOW SLOW, and which makes it DIFFICULT

Hi I've bought this phone one week ago. It costs ca. 65 USD here
(12.000 HUF) I like it, 'cause it's cheap, slim, ultra-light, etc.
The battery is good too. So if you want to use this phone as a PHONE,
buy it :) But if you're keen on taking pictures, or using it as
an mp3 player, choose something else. Anyway, Why do people want
to use MOBILE PHONES for filming, taking pictures, etc? It's a PHONE.
And even the most expensive mobile phone's camera is much worse,
than the cheapest Sony digital camera. Greetings Rating:

I've Been using this phone for 3 weeks now so this is the impression
i got. SCREEN: When i looked at the phone for the first time i thought
"The screen must be rubish for the price i'm paying". Couldn't be
more wrong. The screen is very bright (more than necessary), and
very "detailed". SOUND: Not very good, when playing radio and stuff
like that but when talking is in an average class speakers. OPERATING
SYSTEM: This runs on nokia's S40 platform meaning that it has a
solid performance and you can get some aps for it. MESSAGING AND
CALLING: Calling is as easy as it should be (select a contact, press
the green button, and talk), but its the messaging that has let
me down. I type fast on a mobile, but this one made me think i was
in turtle mode. The buttons are big which makes it easy to type
but it takes some time for it to show what you've typed. CAMERA:
For a low-end phone like this the camera suites well. Personally
I don't use the camera that often and when i use it is for capturing
a photo of my pet or something like that so I'm gessing that most
of the people looking forward to buy this phone won't use it for
more than that too. CONNECTIVITY: Nothing to say but the dual band.
I mean come on nokia dual band is out. The bluetooth is nice but
with only 11 megs you won't use that much unless you use bluetooth
phones. OVERALL: Its a fine phone although it could be better. The
phone itself is slow but when you get used to it you stop bothering
with that. Other thing to look at its the design, sleek, small,
and beautifuly simple. I'll give it 4 stars because it's a good
phone but the dual band and the slowliness makes it not worthy of
the 5 Rating:

Don't know if this is just a batch problem, but I've had problems
since day one: Firstly, it started freezing on missed calls. I put
this down to a faulty phone, but when I got it replaced, it did
the same thing. Secondly, I went to write a message and accidentally
typed the number as + (so in the numbers bar, it showed up as +;).
When going to delete this, I pressed the end call button, automatically
saving this to the draft folder. When trying to open the draft folder,
it subsequently crashed and kept crashing. This has happened with
the replacement model too. However, it may just be a faulty batch.
Aesthetically, the phone is lovely. It has an excellent feel and
sound quality as well as very long battery life. I'm just very disappointed
with it. Rating:

Bought for my father as a simple and easy to use phone with big
buttons and a camera (for the price). And it ticks all those boxes.
If you base your purchase on the fact that it does the simple things
correctly and without fuss buy this phone. The bluetooth, radio,
bright screen and other features are extras which is a welcome addition
to a entry level nokia phone. Yes the menu's can be slow, yes the
camera's doesn't take quality photos, however the sheer usability
and simpleness of the phone (hell even the size) makes me want to
buy one too. If its for an elder who just wants the simple things
with a lot a style plus a few nice extras - buy it! If you're constantly
bashing the slow menus and slouchy camera then don't! Simple Rating:

I have just bought the phone, its better then many entry level nokia
models. the phone has all the features as mentioned by "Robert from

if it was supporting external memory. The phone has no Brightness
control and its too bright by default which is enough to run water
from your eyes while using it indoors or at night! The phone gives
dead drops while talking to people who have some specific model
of phones! (not sure which ones). Nokia 2630 does not allow you
to edit its gallery images which i think is limiting users to customize
"their" mobile! after all they paid of it! I have found that the
Phone setting does not cover the memory status which you have to
figure out under Gallery properties... in a nut shall! the phone
is good enough to be use for 6 months (okay max 9 months) & then
move on to some GOOD model! may be Sony Ericson !! Rating:

The phone here is strategically priced at $110 competing with Motorola
L series. The features speak for themselves but this phone (i've
tried more than 1 handset) comes with a unique problem, similar
with the Nokia 2760 - network dropping & erratic dead gaps in voice
while conversation. The network connectivity is a bad & strong issue
Nokia should look into. One plus point the phone has is the Sleak
& Slim body. I personally believe that this is the 2nd most slim
phone in the Nokia range after the Nokia 5310 Music phone. Overall,
a value for money proposition especially for the not-so-keen buyer
who wants a basic phone or maybe a second phone easy to slip in

I was going to say this is the first simple well-built phone that
has bluetooth (the only useful connectivity) in this pricebracket,
that has some halfway decent battery life (generally a scandalous
nokia failure) and after a month I am still pleased with it. Forget
the camera and such. However, I just tried to work the radio for

to be in business any more. Stone age compared to Sony Ericcson.
