Nokia
2310 Review
Phone
rating:
The Nokia 2310 is an entry-level phone without
a camera. Nokia are the only manufacturer still making these kinds
of very basic phones, so to be honest there isn't a lot of competition!
The 2310 has a smart design and is a compact lightweight
phone. The keypad is functional and the 5-way navigation key is
easy to use. The display is a colour passive-matrix display, which
is small and not that easy to see outdoors, but is standard for
this type of phone. The phone comes with an integrated hadsfree
speaker and supports SMS, picture messaging, animated screensavers
and has three pre-installed games. The 2310 also features an FM
radio, so you can listen to music whilst on the move.
The phone's closest competitor is the Nokia
1600 which has almost exactly the same specification, except
that the 2310 has the benefit of the FM radio. The 2310 is an excellent
choice if you're in the market for a bargain phone.
Features of the Nokia 2310 include:
- Display: CSTN, 65,536 colours (96 x 68 pixels)
- FM radio with sound visualization
- MP3 ringtones
- Integrated handsfree speaker
- Messaging: SMS, picture messaging
- Personalised themes, wallpapers & animated screensavers
- Games: Nature Park, Snake Xenia, and Bounce
- Alarm clock
- Phonebook (200 entries)
- Memory: 60 text messages
- Connectivity: headset and charger only (headset
supplied)
- Dual band
- Size: 105 x 44 x 19 mm
- Weight: 85g
- Talktime: 4 - 6 hours
- Battery standby: up to 400 hours

For £20 brand new you just cant go wrong. Battery is a BL-5C which
in the high st is £25 on its own and any thing from £10-£20 on the
net.I had a Nokia 6300 for a day before i took it back and swapped
it for a 2310. Why they call these things with all the whistles
and bells a mobile phone beats me as they are forever running out
of battery after a few hours of hard use. These young must have's
are realy getting ripped off with all the stuff that phone makers
are cramming into there phones with none of it working very well.If
you just want to phone someone or text them and have a week or 2
between charge ups get the 2310

and comes with FM Radio its also best in that price. But compare
to samsung and other it doest have wallpaper settings to be changed
according to user i mean whts in it u can use upto it no other changes
. but at this price of RS 2450 I my self think that for battery
life this phone is good as it comes from NOKIA otherwise at this
price anyone can get other phones with more features from samsung
or segem ..... the moral is that if you want a good battery long
life phone then NOKIA 2310 is good at this price nothing more and
of FM radio samsung is giving that at very same price ......

I bought this phone to replace a dead 3310. At first I liked it,
as it had a good battery life and could store more text messages
than my old 3310. Then I started trying to use it... Unlike the
3310 with its widely spaced keys, it's very easy to hit the wrong
key when texting. Then the phone rang, but I couldn't hear it! I
kept missing calls, even with the volume at its loudest. But the
most infuriating aspect of this phone is the display: it's impossible
to see when the backlight goes out. I have had texts and answerphone
messages waiting to be answered for ages, as I didn't know they
were there. It's going back into its box as a backup. I've bought
a Nokia 1100 with a loud non-polyphonic ring tone and B&W screen
that's always visible.

just bought this phone today. i also have a nokia 1600 and i personally
think that without the FM radio and calendar function, the nokia
1600 is a better buy. this one doesn't have speaking clock and keypad
is rather difficult to press. it is also a bit heavier, and the
body is light gray which can get dirty easily. the screen does look
better because of a probably better drawn menu, and it does have
animated wallpaper which is almost unnoticeable unless you look
at it closely. this phone is USD14.00 more expensive than the nokia
1600 and only USD3.00 cheaper than the nokia 2610. so i think it
will flop as people who want a cheap colour phone will choose the
1600 and those who want a cheap phone with more features will choose
the 2610.

This phone does exactly as it says on the tin. Phone calls, messages.
Its designed to be simple and no-frills, so criticism based on the
lack of a camera or MMS/Java etc. seems a bit stupid as it never
even proposed to aim at the sort of market that wanted those features.
Savvy? I can't fault it. I've had a 3410 for the last few years,
which sadly broke - it was a very solid, very capable phone that
did everything I wanted. I replaced it with the 2310, and I have
to say I'm impressed. Nokia at their very best, when they're not
trying to do too much. The FM radio is a nice bonus though. An excellent
phone if you don't want all this daft extra guff they put on them
nowadays (Like cameras and mp3 players)
