Nokia 2100
Review
Phone
rating:
The
Nokia 2100 is a cheap entry-level phone with basic features. It
has been designed to be a practical and fun phone, with ease of
use as its main selling point.
The
Nokia 2100 can easily be customised to suit your personality, with
changeable Xpress-on™ colour covers, a photo insert cover, and ringtones
that can be customised for different callers.
The
Nokia 2100 is a good phone for texters, with SMS, concatenated SMS,
chat & picture messaging. You can make up to six distribution
lists, each with up to ten names, so you can quickly distribute
a single message to several friends, family members, or colleagues.
The
main problem with the 2100 (aprt from its low spec) is its poor
reliability, which is a major fault in a phone with so few features.
Read the consumer reviews below to get an idea of the kinds of problems
that people encounter with this phone. Battery life is also vrey
poor. A better option is the Nokia 1100
which has a similar spec but is more reliable.

it would at least be reliable. The screen is small ringtones are
too quiet, keypad preses 2 keys at once and the microphone broke
when dropped once, have had it for 3 years and its been nothing
but chaos. Vibration stopped after 1 year usage, was only kept in

for people with big fingers, big range of ringtones plus a ringtone

useful features are: Calculator, currency converter, stopwatch,
countdown timer Reminders, repeated alarm. vibration alert is really
useful, snake II is really good for those boring meetings or bus

Nokia 2100 This phone is great because: *Easy to use *Not packed
with confusing, un-needed features *Very reliable *Good size & appearance
Its not the top of the range phone these days but does the job-
and very very well with a few extras like good tim passing games.
There is nothing bad about this phone that I have a discovered.
I currently have a Nokia 3220 which is great but I have a lot of
experience with 2100s. If I had a 2100 I would not be dissapointed
but seeing as I am young all my friends have flashy colour screen,
feature packed phones and I wanted to be one of them. LOL Great
phone so I recomend it as a starter phone but not to someone who
wants lots of features. My rating is based on for that style of
phone, not comparing it to any of those modern, camera phones that
is basically a portable computer!!! If I could have I would have
given it a rating of 3 1/2 Bye

Excellent phone if you use a phone the way it's meant to be used
- making calls. Personally I use an actual digital camera for taking
pictures and an mp3 player for listening to music, so these functions
are completely unneccessary on a phone as far as I am concerned
(especially at the low standards that phones are currently doing
these stuff anyway). If you don't want to pay for features you never
use anyway, then this is the phone for you. I've been using it for

I think its fairly hilarious the supposed kudos that mobile phones
have these days. It seems all the rage to have a phone with a rubbish
camera, slow internet, tiny colour screen, lame java games, bluetooth,
wap & polyphonic ring tones. These people need to also invest in
purchasing a life in addition to their phones. If you want to take
pictures, buy a digital camera, computers give you access to the
net, gameboy advance's are available in most good computer stores.
It's so refreshing to have a phone that focuses on the two most
important functions - calling and texting. The sound quality is
excellent on the handset, and its extremely easy to use. One for
the people who already have a life.

You want games? Get a handheld - or use your computer! That's what
phones do? Predictive text is my favourite feature - it really DOES
save your thumb a lot of wear and tear (and probably arthiritus

The Nokia 2100 is a nice low end phone that reminds me of the days
when i owned a Nokia 3210. No fancy camera, games or polyphonic
ringtones but its a nice basic phone. I have had no problems with
mine.

If u are looking for an entry level phone with no frills, look no
further than the nokia 2100.Its the latest basic handest from Nokia.I
love its looks, especially the white backlight. And the use of soft
materials is a welcome change from other nokias(3310,3315).The keys
are crammed together but are easy to press. An useful feature is
the inclusion of distribution lists which is useful 4 ppl like me
who love to sms. It's very light too at just 85 gms and fits easily
in my pocket.Only cribs- battery life could have been better;the
bright backlight being the culprit here. The menu system does seem
to lag at times but thats alright. All in all,the most refreshing
basic phone from Nokia till date

Nice for people needing a mobile phone plus a flashlight. My concern
is with the duration of the battery due to this built-in "torch."
It should also have a built-in dimmer to control the intensity of
the light, just as the sound has one.

In "Write Message" menu once the message is sent to destination
there is no "Back" option to go to the "Message menu" which is present
in the previous model. Each time the message has to be cleared to
go the previous menu which is bugging.I wonder how the developers
and testers missed this out?

This is a truly wonderful product from nokia, subject to the condition
that you are purchasing mobile set for conversation and not for
games and all other things. Its biggest attraction is its light
which can really help u in finding things in the dark. Its ringing
voice is little low. For those who want to attract people in 500
metre circle, this will be a disappointment. But it's cell not a
loud speaker. Really a trendy one. My suggestion:- GO FOR THIS.

I was contemplating getting a phone that had a radio and digital
camera when I upgraded my contract but my parents rightly asked
'Why?' so I went with the 2100, a fantastic little phone which has
all I need, reminders, alarm clock and extended sms. What else do
I need? If I want to surf the web (ie WAP) I'll do it at home on
my PC where it's CHEAP! Plus side is you can use the phone as a
torch at night (seriously!) because the key lights are quite bright.
My dad's got a 6210i and all he uses it for is calls. He should
get a 2100. It's a phone!! You shouldn't need extra fancy schmancy
stuff.

I bought this phone on the grounds that I used my last mobile for
texting and calls, which is exactly what the Nokia 2100 does. The
features are quite basic and similar to the Nokia 3310 but some
little touches make it stand out. The picture space on the back
cover, for instance, is a great way to personalise your phone. It
doesn't deserve the 5 star rating just yet but certainly could do
in the near future.
