In a nutshell: The key feature of the LG KS360 is its slide-out keypad, which makes it a perfect phone for keen texters or emailers. It's a budget PAYG phone, but it still manages to pack in a 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, FM radio, MP3 ringtones, Bluetooth and a memory card slot. We love it!
Best buy: On Pay as you Go for £79.99 from Orange.

Fancy an iPhone for about one tenth of the price? Step right up! OK, the KS360 isn't really like an iPhone, but it's a pretty snazzy phone nevertheless.

It's smaller than an iPhone, although quite heavy and chunky, with a thickness of 17mm. But that's because the phone has a full slide-out QWERTY keypad. If you like texting, then you're going to love this phone! Full QWERTY keypads normally come with business phones like BlackBerries, or the virtual touchscreens on high-end phones like the iPhone. But here it is on a budget PAYG phone - it's what keen texters have been waiting for! The KS360 has plenty of features tailored to texting in fact. The threaded SMS feature is a neat way of having text conversations. There's also a full range of emoticons to liven up your texts. As well as texting, the QWERTY keypad makes this a good platform for mobile email. Although the LG mail tool lacks the power and flexibility of a BlackBerry, it's easy to set up and use for personal email.

Like most LG phones, the KS360 has a touchscreen user interface, so you can dial directly from the touchscreen without needing to open up the slide. In fact the slide is really only used when texting or sending emails, so most of the time you can use it with the slide closed, just like a normal phone. In addition to the touchscreen, there's a full range of "normal" buttons for navigation, calling, ending calls, etc, so if you don't get on with touchscreens there's no need to worry.

In fact, this is such a great phone for texting and calling, and so cheap, we weren't expecting it to have any other features. But it does. It has a digital camera with video recording capabilities. The camera's about average for this price range, although it lacks a flash, so can only be used in good lighting conditions. The large 2.4 inch screen has one of the highest resolutions available, and is excellent. The phone has a built-in music player that supports MP3 and AAC formats. And an FM radio too. The built-in memory is not overly generous at 15 Mbytes, but you can add a microSD memory card up to 4 GB. This is enough to store around 1,000 MP3 tracks.

Connectivity appears to be via Bluetooth only, but the battery life is very good. The phone doesn't support 3G, but it does have triband GSM coverage.

To be honest, we're quite blown away by this little baby. We were expecting it to be a bit tacky, but it's really impressed us. The keypad is a big bonus for anyone who sends a lot of texts, and LG have been generous with the amount of stuff that's included in the phone. At this price, we think you'll be impressed too. And it's available in Blue or Pink, depending on which gender stereotyping appeals to you :)

I bought this phone the day it came out, i was realy exited and it is a VERY good phone for the price. But in this review they compared it to the iphone. I think a better comparison is mabie a samsun soul with a 2 megapixel camera instead of a 5 megapixel camera. I lived in china for two years in shanghai. It is very cheap and they have good quality knock off iphones. I paid £70 for mine and that is about £10 less than this phone. It had built in wifi and mp4 player. It was a smartphone i guess. It had a 5 megapixel camera. up until now i have loved my ks360, but i bought it about 3 months ago. Because my previous phone had endless features, third party apps ect. i am begining to become slightly bored of it and am looking into buying the LG reinor. This is because it has all the features of this phone (apart from the slider) and much more. Also i don't have a camera. And since the LG RENOIR has a 8 megapixel camera. I can use that as my camera. I sort of wish reviews had told me that it wasn't such a smartphone. Unfortuanatley. This review and others are not naming its bad parts. This is a great phone for someone who has never had a REALLY high tech phone. But if you want a smart phone. You should look somwhere else. Also, i think people who have previousley owned smart phones will love this for the first two months and then get a bit bored. It is a good phone but i will only give it a 3 star rating [Editor's comment: Angus, I think you're expecting too much for your money. It only costs 80 quid! The other phones that you mentioned cost hundreds!]

I got this phone the other day. So far..pretty good..the keyboard is a nice touch, but it takes some getting used to and isnt as easy to text on as i thought as the keys are very close together. Also there is a lag time on the videos, the sound is a few seconds behind (or ahead) of the picture, cant remember which! Also it randomly deletes some of your contacts which is very annoying, however if ya turn it off n on they come back but its very annoying all the same! And lack of flash is pretty annoying too..but apart from that its an okay phone, i guess you get what you pay for

I got this phone a couple of days ago. And i'm always changing phones but i gotta say this is the best phone ive had to date ive had no problems with it whatso ever the touch screen was a nice touch and for the price all the features are great. I love the buttons and because im quick at typing on the computer im quicker at texting on my phone!

i got this phone only yesterday and i must say i love it so so so so much 1 i so reccomend it to you! it is really groovy and cheap it so rock! i love texting my friends on it because it is fabulous! it didn't take me that long to get use to because i was just so excited that for some reason i knew how to work it ! how crazy is that ? i have the blue one and it is really groovy it is such a nice blue the pink is ok but the blue is the best and i am so so so so happy that i bought this phone ! it it the best phone i have ever had !!!!! I LOVE IT ! IT SO ROCKS!

I bought this phone, I like it, the msn is really good and it works fast and easy to navigate, except its know having a problem logging me in saying my account is not the one registed with the phone! has it been deactivated? The volume on the phone is not loud enough, when its ringing, i often dont hear it. I think its because the sound comes out the back speaker. I love the fact on oranges you get free texts, thats perfect for me and free myspace! I'd rate it 5 stars if, msn would work again and if orange had a better signal in my house.

i think this phone is brillant most people say it is rubbish. but it is made only for TEENAGES so its gonna be modern im getting for xmas and approx 27 people in my class has it in different colours its nice to have a phone for teenages for once :)

The phone does have some advantages - it looks great and has an easy to use menu system but there are little things that bug me - the qwerty keyboard made text more difficult as the keys are so small and close together, the whole thing slows down if you have too much on it (i.e. lots of text messages, songs etc. stored) and the vibration alert isn't very strong so if it is in your bag, I often miss the call/text. I'm disappointed with the phone and I'm selling mine on.

Yeah the keyboard is cool. Bt for not much extra you could get a better one. This one doesnt have the 3g features..which sux. bt its a prettii cool phone :P

Love the phone in general. The keypad is ace, and the screen is bright and clear! But the screen has been easily marked. Also my phone turns itself off sometimes - but that might be mine, and I will be taking it in! I do have problems receiving MMS messages aswell - any ideas how to combat this, my phone has been left on orange!

Does anybody else have a problem with receiving mms messages. I got a video the other day and coudnt open it I went onto the 02 website to download the settings but it wouldnt let me do that either. I got the phone unblocked from orange to o2 do u think this could have something to do with it? Also when I receive an mms picture message its tiny and I can barely see it which is prety useless. Anybody help???? (";) xxx

Mine was dead on arrival... Worked for about 10 min and then shut down for good. Looks to me like it's software errors. The SW crashed two times in 10 min, and after the second time, the phone never booted again... shame....

I just got back from buying this phone. It's on charge and I love it already! My Mum managed to get it for £60 and it comes with a 1gb memory card! I recommend this phone to teenagers :)

just bought it from argos for £89:99 ( same as other shops if you add £10 to £79:99) its great with a 4gb sd card (hdc is supported) and also mp3 ringtines are supported aswell as mp4 videos all in all a great phone for the price

Lovely phone! excellent piece of equipment! I recently purchased this phone today on O2 and i wouldnt change it for anything! Only thing that gets me, is that using MSN, you dont have a messenger program, you gotta sign into windows live messenger, which is web based! For all you users that need a messenger...Reporo is a very nifty program for instand messenging

OK to help Carrie what you do to get the "Thread" message layout back is go to "Messaging" then "Inbox". Then highlight any of the messages and then click "Options" and go to "Threaded View" and that will change you back to the speech bubbles!

Got this phone on friday and when I first started using it the messaging had a pic then a speech bubble which the message was in. I changed a few things on the phone and cant remember what I done so can somebody help me get this feature back please???? I dont have a user manual for the phone so can't even look at that!

gettin this fone on friday absulutly gr8 fone gettin it in pink and ma m8 got it to im always on it. it is a easy use fone gr8 camera and fantastic pull out quiky keyboard gettin it 4 90 quid and cant wait best fone eva but every where u go it out of stock so if ya want it get on the waiting list NOW u will regret not buying this fone i highly recomend it

the phone is great looks nice easy to use. the only thing that dont work on Orange is the windows live messinger known as orange messinger service.and you dont get a memory card with it. but its cheap,the toutch screen is only any use for dialing not text.

ive had this phone for a few weeks now and i have fallen in love with it it has practically everything you could want and it is such a reasonable price it has style,touchscreen,a great camera,video,mp3,slide ou keypad,internet i could go on and on. it is avalible on pay as you go which is a great bonus most phones with thease gr8 features are not as stylish as this one and on pay monthly or over £100 i highly recommend it!

i went in to purchase this phone the other day and to my dismay was told there were none in stock, when i enquired as to why they had none in and when would it be possible to make my purchase, i was informed that the last batch had to be recalled due to a falt in the software of the phone, which made the phone get slower and slower with usage and led eventual freezing of the handset, this was not just the case in the one store i visted i have discovered its pretty much all stores so if you have recently purchased this phone and are all ready encountering teething problems i suggest you take it back to the store u purchased it from and they will have it all sorted out for you and replace your handset with a non faulty one. This unfortunatley means for me i have to wait another 2 weeks until the new batch comes into stock so that i too can be the holder of this truly awesum phone!

Im getting this tomorrow. Been contemplating buying it for a few weeks now. Then my friend got it and I had a go on his and its amazing. I feel in love with it first time I saw it on the Orange website. Only problem though, shame about the pink one being only on Orange. I need to get it on o2 meaning I have to get it in blue. Ive got my old faithful samsung e900 which has lasted me for a year and a half and is still going strong but I want a change. And this phone caught my eye straight away. Can't wait to buy it tomorrow (:

Very gd mob, had it for a week no problems so far.. Okay so the camera could of been abit better but I have my fuji to rely on, don't use my mob to take great pics with. Keyboard is okay easy to press and stuff remember reading somewhere they complain about there fingers being to big and so on. Really it's fine, nice idea on the touch-screen. Even my 70+ dad can use it, so it's practical for all ages ^_^ Sad part orange/lg don't offer games other then demo ones. You shouldnt relate a mob keyboard to a computer one, because of course it can't compare. Just think it's a bonus feature add on, can't think of yeah I can type like assignments and stuff, it's only simple things ^_^ (some ppl are un-realistic lol 5 stars because no problems ^_^ and it's better thn my 7373 lol

If you ask me the phone is kinda' ugly, but I like the colours, they make the phone more personal. What cought my eye with this phone was the price, its great to see such a cheap phone with a qwerty keyboard and touchscreen.

Omd Best Phone Lg Have Made In A Long Time... And Seriously The Pink One Is Soo Pretty Its Unbeleivable but all the colours are good to but the keybored is soo good and easy to use.

does any1 else have the same proble as me with this phone? wen u turn it off does sum of ur numbers in ur phone book delet themselves and does ur bolt numbers return again after deleting them and is the voice ahead of the actions wen u video camra?

I love my new mobile. I have always been A bit of a textaholic so the QWERTY board makes texting quicker and easier. I feel that the only disadvantage of this mobile is that the camera has no flash but apart form that its a brilliant phone to have.

This phone sounds great ! it has MSN on it and free accsess to facebook! its only £60 on orange and comes in blue,pink,red and silver. I think this phone sounds great for £60 :)

I got this phone yesterday and so far it seems good. THe memory is not very good, but you can always get an SD card for that, the keyboard is easy to use. If you just want a basic phone for texting, this is perfect. Shame about no flash on the camera!!

A brilliant phone for the price. Not as good as the iPhone (like some reviews suggest) but a big thumbs up none the less! Only problem I am having is syncing my contacts. There is no included software and I can't find anything on the t'internet that allows me to do it. I have had to type them all in manually! And for that it gets 4 stars only.

this phone is great or terrible depending what you want your phone for. i perosnlaly use it for texting and phoneing and a little bit off music,but thats why ive got an ipod:),if thasts ho you see it this is the phone for you,if your all souped up about 5 mega pixel cmaeras and 5billion resoultion etc its not for you,either way good for your money:). Best phone ive had yet.

iv been lookin about for a phone like this for a while with the whole slideout keyboard n all n i hav tried 1 of these n its a pretty good. its only 2mp but 4 sum reason the camera is still really good but im just wondering if its better than the samsung f700-i no its only on vodafone which sucks but is it better cos u can always get it unlocked although it will still hav the vodafone basics.....
