This month's most popular mobile phones:
Samsung Galaxy S2
The Galaxy S2 is Samsung's flagship phone and is the first Samsung
phone to be powered by a dual-core processor. The Galaxy S2 runs
Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread) and has an incredible 4.3 inch
Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen. Other highlights include 1080p Full
HD video recording, an 8 megapixel still camera and a secondary
front-facing camera for making video calls. |
|
Samsung Galaxy Ace
The Samsung Galaxy Ace is a smart-looking Android phone with a larger-than-average
3.5 inch display, a decent 800 MHz processor, and a good camera.
Other highlights include GPS with Google Maps, high-speed internet
and Wi-Fi. But its battery life and reliability are questionable,
and it can't compete against the best Android phones. |

Samsung Galaxy Mini
The Samsung Mini is a compact smartphone, even though the word "Mini"
seems to be an exaggeration. There's lot's here to like, including
the Android 2.2 operating system with access to apps from the Android
Market, GPS with Google Maps, Samsung's user-friendly TouchWiz interface,
a music player and an FM radio with RDS. The hardware is impressive
too: a powerful 600MHz processor, fast 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Only the battery life lets it down.
Available in Black, Silver or White. |
|
HTC Wildfire S
The HTC Wildfire S is the upgrade to the hugely-popular budget Android
smartphone, the HTC Wildfire. The Wildfire S is a compact phone
with a premium metallic body, an uprated touchscreen display, a
5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, the latest Gingerbread
version of Android, GPS with Google Maps and access to over 100,000
apps from the Android Market. It compromises on processor speed,
memory and battery power, but we still think it's one of the best
of the lower-priced Android phones. |

Samsung Ch@t
The Samsung Ch@t 335 is a budget BlackBerry-beater. With a full
QWERTY keyboard and an optical trackpad, it's ideal for texting,
emailing, facebooking or tweeting. We love its superslim quality
feel that fools people into thinking you've bought a high-end handset.
The phone comes with Wi-Fi, an FM radio, music player and a 3.5mm
headphone jack. It can accept memory cards up to 8GB. The camera
may be little more than a toy, but everything else about the S3350
Chat shouts quality. |
|
BlackBerry Curve 8520
An entry-level BlackBerry Curve, with a new-fangled Trackpad to
replace the annoying trackball on previous Curve models. The 8520
offers a full QWERTY keyboard, mobile e-mail, a basic camera and
a media player, plus good memory and connectivity. But it cuts corners
with the display, camera and lack of high-end features that are
common in many smartphones. |

BlackBerry Curve 9300
A good mid-range BlackBerry, offering a full QWERTY keyboard, mobile
e-mail, media player, plenty of memory, GPS receiver, 3G and Wi-Fi.
The display and the camera are pretty basic though. |
|
Samsung Tocco Lite
The Tocco Lite is Samsung's answer to
the LG Cookie. Available in black, gold, pink or silver, it's a
bargain touchscreen phone. Although it lacks 3G, it offers a fabulous
fun user interface with easy access to Facebook and YouTube, plus
all the features that you'd expect: a 3.2 megapixel camera, video
recording, music player, FM radio with RDS, memory card slot and
Bluetooth. |
